Any Idea What Musical This Is

Plot Ideas For A Musical?

I would suggest doing something like Wicked The Musical. It's the story of how the witches in the Wizard of Oz came to be and their adventures. I think it was really popular because people like seeing a different side of a story everyone knows and loves, if that makes any sense. So, I don't know, you could maybe do how the fairy godmother from Cinderella came to be, things like that.

No matter what your musical will be about, you should ALWAYS include romance. Either it be the main plot, or just a side story, it MUST be included. If you look at all the top 10 musicals, every single one of them has a bit or a lot of romance. The same thing goes for comedy. If it's a serious subject though, you don't want to push on too hard on the comedy aspect. Just add a little light humor to give the audience a break once in a while. And of course, the songs are important. Probably most important of all, because if the songs aren't catchy, no one is going to see the musical. Though if you're just the writer, you don't have to really worry about that, I guess.

Hope I helped, and good luck writing your musical!

Ideas for music video? Help!?

For my media arts class, me and my group have to make a music video. This means we pick an existing song, and then film our own clips and stuff to go with it. It can be anything really- as long as it's appropriate and creative. So this video needs to have a concept and go well with the song.

Can you guys PLEASE help me? Just throw a bunch of ideas at me... what songs could I use and what concepts are creative/easy to film? Please please help!

Thanks in advanced :)

How do you write an essay about music? What are some ideas?

What is music?Music is life. This has always been a part of my life. Whenever I’m happy or sad, High or low. Music is part of my emotion. Though music is simply define as sound that accompanied by certain rhythms. For music is more important than anything else. Sometimes I preferably use music to escape from reality of life. It empties my mind and gives me some kind of satisfied feeling.Music is a universal language that can be shared with people everywhere. Love for music is not a tendency of human-beings only. It is a common characteristic of nearly all living creatures. Music seems to have the ability to change certain aspects of my world. In general, music has a lot of influence and has a lot of forms of expression. For example, music can enlighten you, make you depressed or make you think of love. Music can keep traditions alive. Music has unlimited powers, is a well established fact. It has a soothing and healing power. Music helps us to relax. There are many things you can say about music. It cannot be defined as one thing. Music can have different purposes.

How can I discover new ideas for music?

Back in the pre-internet days you could:Read the music press and get new ideas.Find the radio stations that played new and exciting stuff.Go to records stores and browse. Used records were a great way to backfill your music knowledge, i.e., artists that had been around a while but were worth checking out.Libraries were cool, too. I used to check out LPs from my university library and take them home and tape them.Word of mouth. People love to talk about music.Go to live music shows where you’re not sure what you’ll hear.Movies and Broadway shows often have great music. These strategies worked then, and they still have merit in the internet era. Youtube and the streaming services all suggest further listening. Amazon and Apple want to sell you stuff so they post recommendations too.

Musical Pantomime! Need some ideas, please?

For an eventful programmatic composition, you can't beat "In a Persian Market" by Albert Ketelby.

Ifr you can get a score, you will see the programmatic explanations marked. If you can't get a score, you can probably figure out what happens when just by listening.

<<<<"The camel-drivers gradually approach.">>>>
Step out of the classroom before they start the music.
When the music starts, make a flat-footed entrance.

<<<<"The beggars in the market-place">>>>
Go up to individual classmates, making a sad-faced entreaty.

<<<<"The beautiful princess approaches.">>>>
Strike a glamour girl pose and throw kisses to your classmates.

<<<<"The jugglers in the market-place.">>>>
Throw imaginary balls in the air and rotate your head watching the balls.

<<<<<"The snake-charmer">>>>
Play an imaginary oboe while watching an imaginary snake rise and fall.

<<<<(Trumpets)>>>>
Play an imaginary trumpet.

<<<<"The Caliph passes through themarket-place.>>>>
Assume a pompous stance.

<<<<"The beggars are heard again.">>>>

<<<<"The Princess prepares to depart.">>>>

<<<<"The caravan resumes its journey.">>>>
Make a flat-footed exit.

The piece is available in orchestral recordings, but a piano verision is also available.
If you play the entire piece, it might last longer than 5 minutes, ad besides, the jokes might be prolonged until they grow stale.
However, it would be easy to make cuts.
The composer runs through most of the melodies two or more times, and you could cut out all but one rendition of each melody.

What I would do is ask a pianist to make a cassette recording of the cut version.
I have a copy of the piano version, and if you give me a private message, I will be glad to run it through the scanner.

Any Ideas? Musical Theater Audition Songs...?

I need a couple new audition songs .
I am a soprano, do not belt (yet!). I am blonde and blue eyed. I usually play the princess type character. Character acting isnt my strong point but Im not bad either..Just not exceptional. I am 15. I would like age appropriate songs. I am willing to do duets that can be turned to solos liek Defying Gravity. I also do not want the song to be overdone like I Enjoy Being a Girl and Popular.
Any Ideas?

Do we have any idea what Roman music sounded like?

Glad you asked! I, Aemilius Paulus, through my friends in Italy and Netherlands acquired two albums of Synaulia and three albums of Musica Romana. I then took the liberty of uploading them to YouTube. While I have seen others upload scattered Synaulia tracks, as far as to my knowledge, there is no other copy of Musica Romana music floating around on the net. The only way to get their music is to buy it physically in Germany, which my Dutch friend did for me. While some may argue it is copyright infringement, I figured that the publicity of the two musical groups will provide a greater benefit to them than any potential losses from their music being on YT. I have never met anyone in my life who has heard of those two groups, despite studying history in three different universities and talking to many students/professors there. Here is a link to those uploads. There are lots of good songs there, especially ones like the Hymn To Nemesis, of which we have the full vocals as well as part of what can be called a form of musical notation. Musica Romana (German-based group staffed by historians, archaeologists and professors) built the worlds (currently) only hydraulikon organon - or water organ - to make some of their music.EDIT: For example, here is my favourite vocal (with instrumental accompaniment) piece from Musica Romana, called 'Faunus' (I linked it so that it will start in the middle, after the first song passed - my videos usually have two songs in each one). Here is a better rendition of it, by the same group, but this time in a newer album and livelier.EDIT2: For quick links to other vocal tracks based on famous songs that survived to us, here is Hymn to Nemesis (you can Google the lyrics very easily) and Song of Seikilos. For more faithful accuracy I would recommend Musica Romana, but for more imaginative (though still historically informed performances) Synaulia is a good choice - the accuracy of their songs seems to vary, as indicated in their own booklets.

I love music and I have a lot of ideas, but I always fail to 'get them out of my head properly'. How do I actually write a song using the idea/melody I had?

There is a lot of practice & Ear training which goes into bridging that gap between what your brain imagines and what you execute in your DAW.Firstly, Get a midi or keyboard and learn some music theory so that you can put down the idea in your head (reinforced by other musical elements like chords etc.)Secondly, get a free trial of a software vsti synth (study it in & out) and learn sound design. If youre producing Electronic music, youll need more than a piano to keep it interesting. Design some patches. And with time, it becomes second nature. Youll be able to create that exact sound in your head.(Music theory : Google / YoutubeVstis : NI Massive, Sylenth1.)Ending with where I started. It takes a lot of practice to train ears but rest assured, itll come if you persevere!Edit : just saw your additional info. Playing piano for 7 years and not knowing about chords? It doesnt add up. I still suggest you to learn the theory just so you know what works.
