Euthanasia Pros and Cons

Euthanasia: The intentional killing by act or omission of a dependent human being for his or her alleged benefit. (If death is not intended, it is not an act of euthanasia)

Arguments For Euthanasia:

• It provides a way to relieve extreme pain

• It provides a way of relief when a person's quality of life is low

• Frees up medical funds to help other people

• It is another case of freedom of choice

Arguments Against Euthanasia:

• Euthanasia devalues human life

• Euthanasia can become a means of health care cost containment

• Physicians and other medical care people should not be involved in directly causing death

• There is a "slippery slope" effect that has occurred where euthanasia has been first been legalized for only the terminally ill and later laws are changed to allow it for other people or to be done non-voluntarily.

I need help with senior exit project! Any topic ideas??

First of all I would challenge the fact that the school can dictate what is and what is not controversial... but anyways...

What about actual physcians, how they save lives and how that can affect them - godcomplexes, depression, remorse, loss of medical license for malpractice, general pressures of their job

Health Insurance, HMO's, what they should or shouldn't cover, how some people who deserve coverage and don't get it (I'm thinking of a movie called "John Q" that's what came to mind when I read that you were interested in medicine)

The history of the medical field, how it started, how it has evolved, who were major in making it evolve, where we are today, how much futher we have to go

EDIT:
Oh you have to make an actual product... wow, that does seem near impossible with the medical field. I don't know what to tell you on this one. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Got any good health project ideas?

I have a project due Thursday called a "build or bake" where you have to take any health related topic, minus anything sexually suggestive (no reproductive systems, breast cancer, testicular cancer, you get what I mean), and either build a labeled model or bake a model of it and label it. (ex, build a model of a human heart and label it, etc.) It doesn't have to be an organ or something to do with any of your body systems, it just has to have SOMETHING to do with a health related topic. We're having a class competition for who can come up with the most creative idea for a project, and I have absolutely no idea what to do. Got any really cool, unique, creative ideas? Thanks! :)

What are interesting topics for the extended project?

Choose a topic that interests YOU.
Do you like art, history, music?

Here's a few ideas to get the ball rolling for you.

- Art/music movement. (Abstract, Expressionism / Punk, Romantic or research a band you like.)
- War/conflict. (World War I / II or something modern like Iraq?)
- Politics. (First female prime minister (Margaret Thatcher. Political groups and their views?)
- Social issues/Sociology? (Feminist movement, New Right, Marxists? Something I'd choose if I was in your shoes, but that's my opinion.)

If you want to earn more brownie points, since these types of topics not only have endless streams of research to look up, but also offer a debate and so you could ramble on for hours about different views and opinions, stuff like:

- The topic of Euthanasia.
- Animal Testing.
- Laws/Regulation changes.

If you're doing this for PSHE/PSE, ASDAN or similar, they're good topics to use and can be interesting if you like debates.

Good luck on your GCSE.

Any ideas for a personal interest project?

I am currently sitting the 2009 HSC and do 2 units of society and culture. We have to submit a major on anything we want. I was thinking of doing something along the lines of Lebanese youth within australia or the way we change our personalities at home to school due to our culture. If any one has any other ideas/suggestions that would be really great. Thanksss

Senior Project idea for topic of Law Enforcement?

For our senior projects, we have to come up with some sort of presentation about the topic of our intended career field. My topic is law enforcement. I can't come up with any creative project ideas for my topic, does anyone have any ideas? It can be anything that is presented (besides the boring powerpoint and poster) and I have to incorporate interaction with the class. Thanks!

What should be a mini project topic for a 3rd year B.Tech. in CSE student?

It completely depends on how knowledgeable you are.. If I may suggest you a project.. It may look silly to you or a big load of heavy task in front of you just for a mini project if you are not clear about anything. First know your ups and downs. On which field you are strong on.Second calculate how much time you can spend on it. Third clearly understand the requirements and get into it. Do not fuzz up in the end. Setup clear goalsWork hard to complete it. If you are struck somewhere there are hell lot of people to help you with. Your friends, teachers, stack overflow and GOOGLE.don't try to copy any codes. Jus take the overall idea and work on it. After all you are doing it for learning purposeAnd lastly if you are taking up a project. You shouldn't leave it in half way that's more important. Assuming that you are a beginner and have some knowledge on coding, I LL suggest you fewDo a shopping website a full functional with Java j2ee patterns if u can. And make the website responsiveTry doing a snake and ladder game with C graphics. (if u don't know C graphics learn it. Belive me the understandings from it may help big in your future) and why I am suggesting you snake and ladder is.. You might have to work on your math's and logical part for drawing the snake and ladder dynamically.Try taking up a college project something that your college might need to do automation. If you would lik to have a steep learning curve. Try creating something like artificial intelligence with open nlp and open cyc. Try doing mobile applications which ever is your favorite platform. Create a desktop application in Java swing or using c# and implement a business logic to it. Or if you are smart enough to get a project from any small companies or shops through your networks. You get the logic from them and also you get money for it after completing your product. That's a double dhamaka, a project to your resume and money to your pocket.
