Anybody Who Can Read And Understand Arabic

How long to learn Arabic when i can read it but not understand it?

Learning to read and write the alphabet elegantly took a couple of weeks, tops. When you're talking about reading Arabic and understanding it, for most people that'll take at least six months to acquire basic knowledge of the language, since what you can't see in ordinary printed Arabic (apart from in the Qur’an) is the short vowels, annotated thusly:a — ٓاi — ِِاu — ُاOnly long vowels appear in writing, which means that you have to understand Arabic’s tri-consonantal root system and how to derive words from a cluster of three consonants, which requires learning the language.Another facet of Arabic is the phonology, which implies transformations of the short vowels used:/æ/ > /a/ or /e//I/ > /ε/ or /e//u/ > /o/ or /ɔ/And this does not even present all the possibilities, since all of these possible permutations vary according to which variety of Arabic you’re interested in learning. Levantine Arabic’s vowels are different from Egyptian Arabic’s which are in turn different from Moroccan Arabic’s. The only place you'll hear the vowels without local coloration is probably Al-Jazeera.

Is there anyone (Arabian) who can help me to learn/understand Arabic?

Hi would love to be of any help.

If the Quran can only be understood in Arabic wouldn't you say it's flawed?

I don't know how to speak or read Arabic, so basically the Quran is useless to me since I can't get it's full meaning. Why did Allah provide a book that couldn't be translated properly? Did he make a mistake?

Can anybody translate this? خواهش می کنم ?

it means "you're welcome" or "don't mention it" or "no thanks are needed". for example: thanks for picking me up--- "you're welcome"

Can I read the Quran in Arabic with English letters and still have the same reward?

Yes you will get the rewards in Shaa Allah, in fact there is a double reward for you. Both Bukhari and Muslim have narrated a Hadith in which Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) says:والذى يقرأ القرآن ويتمتع فيه، وهو عليه شاق ، له أجران . متفق عليهThe one who read Quran and stops in between and find difficulty in its pronunciation, for him is double reward. But you should try to learn Arabic language as its very easy now a days.

Can I read the Quran in English rather than reading it in Arabic? Do we have any commandments in the Quran that we should read and spell it only in Arabic?

I’d like to say some point about this matter:we’d like to state that you are to be commended for your keen desire to read and understand Allah’s Word. You should know that there is no nobler endeavor than that. The Prophet (pbuh) said, “Those who attempt to read it with difficulty will merit double rewards.” (Reported by at-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud; also Bukhari and Muslim in their own words)  Also, we advise you, to try to read the Qur’an in Arabic to gain the great benefit and reward of Allah for reading His Book, and read the translation of the Qur’an to grasp its meaning.  As the Qur’an is revealed in Arabic, reading it in its original language entails great merits. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever reads one letter of the Book of Allah, will have one reward for doing so, and every hasanah will be multiplied by 10. I do not say that Alif, Lam, Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.”   “The reward mentioned in this Hadith is only for the one who reads the Qur’an as it is in Arabic, not for the one who reads the translation of the meanings in any other language. However, if a person reads a translation of the meanings in order to understand the meaning and benefit from what the Qur’anic verses are saying, then he will be rewarded for doing this, because the Muslim will be rewarded for reading tafsir (explanation and commentary of the Qur’an), and a translation is tafsir. But there is no indication that the person who reads a translation will earn the reward mentioned in the Hadith. The bounty of Allah is immense.”
