Who was a more effective Prime Minister: Margaret Thatcher or Tony Blair?
Margaret Thatcher was a bitch of a prime minister. Her policies caused riots in a couple of the big cities. She introduced something called the poll tax which replaced the General Rates (a payment based on every property paid annually) she changed this to every 18 year old in a property to make a payment each. It caused massive demonstrations up and down the country and was finally abolished. She clamped down on the unions, privatised the local bus companies. I don’t remember a lot as I was still at school so only recalling what I can. When she died a few years ago the song from The wizard of Oz reached no 1 in the charts as everyone was buying it”the wicked witch is dead”hopefulky some one else can give you a full run down.
