I need a weight loss buddy=)?

I'm 20 and I'm 5'8" at 198 pounds. A week ago, I weighed 208.8 pounds. That was until I joined Spark People. I was 158 before I had my son and after that, I gained 40 pounds, dropped some after I gave birth, gained it back and then some.

When my scale topped 208 a week ago, I panicked and finally took the time to do something about it. I'm actually about to do my strength training now! =]

They offer you so much like free food plans (you create one, have them create one for you, substitute foods, etc.) and they offer a fitness plan. They even offer work out buddies! Find someone on there with the same goals as you and you'll have a buddy.

I'm a member and my name is empressive on the site so if you decide to sign up, say that I referred you and add me!

I was actually thinking about doing something like this.

EDIT: Wow, a few people are into this. Unless you want several weight loss buddies (not a bad idea, BTW) some of us should pair up :)

Anyone need weight loss buddy? I'm 17 so I really don't know where or how to get started!?

The way I stared was:

First: Eat healthier foods and reduce sweets and sugar intake
This helped me a lot because I used to eat pretty fatty foods which caused me to be lazy. Then when I cut the sugar intake, I eventually stopped craving it and it made me feel healthier as I already started to watch my weight drop to 10 pounds.

Second: Cardio
Doing any aerobic stuff makes me feel more energetic and helped me go to step three

Third: weight lifting
If you want to see results, follow step one and two. Some people don't do this and skip to three, and they aren't satisfy with their results because of the fat in their body is hiding it.

This is just my personal routine I follow and I'm happy with it and I see results. I hope this helps!

PREPARE YOUR OWN FOOD AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

While more and more restaurants are offering low-carb friendly menu items, many of them are still not ideal low-carb fare. There are many recipes for quick and easy meals that you can prepare yourself at home. Try to do this as often as possible.

If you cook your own foods, you know exactly what the contents are and you will be able to better control for hidden sugar and otherwise processed foods.

Another benefit is the cost savings over the long run. Even if you must go to the grocery store more often, you will save a significant amount per meal as opposed to eating at restaurants and fast food establishments.

It will also be easier to maintain your diet with your own favorite fresh food selections on hand.

Some experts believe that successfully managing your weight comes down to a simple equation: If you eat fewer calories than you burn, you lose weight. Sounds easy, right? Then why is losing weight so hard?Weight loss isn’t a linear event over time. When you cut calories, you may drop weight for the first few weeks, for example, and then something changes. You eat the same number of calories but you lose less weight or no weight at all. That’s because when you lose weight you’re losing water and lean tissue as well as fat, your metabolism slows, and your body changes in other ways. So, in order to continue dropping weight each week, you need to continue cutting calories.A calorie isn’t always a calorie. Eating 100 calories of high fructose corn syrup, for example, can have a different effect on your body than eating 100 calories of broccoli. The trick for sustained weight loss is to ditch the foods that are packed with calories but don’t make you feel full (like candy) and replace them with foods that fill you up without being loaded with calories (like vegetables). Many of us don’t always eat simply to satisfy hunger. We also turn to food for comfort or to relieve stress—which can quickly derail any weight loss plan.I find very helpful app for some good food advice's and suggestion’s named Tribe, what i like is that you can chat with my favorite trainers and nutritionists.
