Apple Tv Sound Issues

Apple TV versus Roku?

In a nutshell yes... There are some differences tho. Apple seems more geared to music, while the Roku is more geared to tv/movies. If you are looking for more content to watch (Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon, Crackle. Popcornflix and such) the Roku is the better choice. If you are looking for more a music experience then go with the Apple.

Some other things to consider is the Apple seems to have added a USB port more as an afterthought then having a real purpose. The Roku is more a fully functional one (for the models that have it) that allows you to watch all your own movies from your computer.

When it comes to connecting to a DVD (home system for surround sound) or the like. Apple still gives a digital optical out. Roku no longer has this feature unless you get the older XDS model (which is the best Roku model anyway).

For using as a server and sending movies to your TV's via a wireless connection from your computer, the Roku is the easier route. Both can do it, but the Roku has a channel that makes setup rather easy to do. I think there is a one time fee of $12 or something like that to register the channel.

Apple MacBook Pro Issues?

I have a 2016 MacBook Pro. When I open my computer, all of the screen except for the top tool bar is black. Eventually, that will clear, but my mouse will be laggy and all the windows I pull up are transparent, and remain shown even when I switch to a different webpage. What could be causing the issue? I've tried scanning for viruses and none were found.

Can I take HDMI from Apple TV and convert to VGA with an audio out?

It depends on the HDCP (copyright) protection of the content you wish to watch on the external screen. The cable from shared by Marco Frissen will not work, because it needs a chipset to work, like this one: HDMI naar VGA Adapter | Actiekabel or this one with audio (AUX) support: HDMI naar VGA (+ Audio) Adapter | Actiekabel .I personally recommend an adapter with audio and power support, because Apple is know for underpowering their HDMI ports. For instance on some MacBooks one can only use an adapter like this one: HDMI naar VGA (+ Audio) Adapter met Extra Voeding | ActiekabelI hope it’s not a problem that I shared three links.;)Please feel free to comment, I like to know if I can help out with other related questions.

I have an Apple TV 4 and when I watch a YouTube video on it the first few seconds of audio are cut out, how do I fix this?

The problem is with what you are plugging the ATV into. It is losing lock on the digital signal and taking too long to relock. Check that the software of your audio device is up to date. The problem may also be eliminated or at least minimized if you set the audio output of the Apple to Stereo.

Why does my sound get locked on my MacBook Pro and how can I fix it? Is this a big enough problem that I should be taking it in to the store. It has happened to me maybe 3 or 4 times and I have owned my laptop for about a month.

This answer comes very late, but if you are still having this issue here is what to do:Look in the Sound control panel in System Preferences under the Apple menu.Make sure Input is set to microphone and Output is set to Internal Speakers.Open Audio MIDI setup; it is in the Utilities folder within the Applications folder.Make sure that it is set to Built-in Output.Sometimes these settings get messed up. Adjusting them should fix your issue. If not, try resetting the parameter RAM by restarting and holding down the “P”. “R”. and “Option” keys until the computer automatically restarts itself three more time. Then check the Sound settings again.
