Why my internet browsing speed is slow but download speed fast?
DNS settings can cause connections to delay starting.. your wifi router tells connected devices what DNS servers to use. You computer, tablet or phone will use them in the order given. If the first one is bad, they will try that, wait, eventually fail and try the others. So check your PCs connection and (on windows type "ipconfig /all") to see what servers are set.Once the connection is established the actual data transfer can then be quite quick.You can always try reconfiguring your router to give out Google's public DNS servers which are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 instead of your internet provider.

My Android can't download anything from the browser and Play store. It only shows the download line moving. It doesn't show the progress of downloading. Are there any solutions to this?
Well, instead of asking to do much of a technical thing, which obviously won't help!I have the correct resolution to this issue, but let me tell you why this issue actually occurs and where actually the problem is.The problem is with the Application Preferences and thus clearing the cache or changing the host won't work in this case. Neither will the download of external download manager work.Here are the simple steps for resolving this issue:Open settings > apps.Go to all apps.On the top right, click on the three dots and select reset app preference.After doing this, please restart the device and check.I was able to resolve this issue on 3 different Android devices successfully.Hope so this will work for you all as well.
When I perform speed test of internet I get 40mb/s. But when I download a movie it shows only 2mb/s. Why?

So, the download speed is always the speed ISP gives you divide by 8. So here you are basically converting Mbps to MBps by dividing it by 8For Example:If you are having a connection with speed, say in your case, 40 Mbps, than your downloading speed will be 40Mbps/8, that will be 5 MBps. According to TRAI guidelines in India, you should always get 80% of marketed speed. So in your case it should be atleast 4MBps at all time. Depending on the server / website which you are downloading from. Why is Netflix slow even though I have fast internet connection?

This is done to avoid misuse/ abuse of the free internet facility. They (the college IT team) might have configured the internet firewall in such a way that you cannot access “Tube sites” (websites that stream movies) at maximum speed. This is done so that the user will eventually get frustrated of the buffering and stop watching (so mission accomplished for the College IT team). Malicious sites (majority of them porn/ torrents) are completely blocked. You too can do the same at your home to avoid unwarranted access (to kids/ siblings/ friends)!!If not the above, then they have simply cast a wide net with the firewall.
