Archeage What Should I Be Liberator Crusader Or Spellsword

What race should I make my spellsword?

Well, there are no classes in Skyrim. You build your skills as you play. But you may already know that. The only benefits of races are that you get starting bonuses to skills. Each race has one skill that starts at 25, and five that start at 20. The other twelve skills start at 15. (Eighteen total skills.)

You can find the more detailed breakdowns of each race and their skills here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Races

What is the best destruction style for a Spellsword in Skyrim?

It depends on the opponent, but many creatures in Skyrim take extra damage from fire.

To what extent did the crusades change the world?

The greatest impact of the Crusades on the world today is so obvious that it's shocking that it is seldom mentioned. Essentially, the Crusades saved Western Europe from conquest by Islam which would have brought Western Civilization to an end and completely altered world history in ways unimaginable. It is important to remember that the Crusades were not wars of conquest, but wars to take back the Holy Land that the Muslims had taken from the Christians in the first place. Many less noble motivations can be attributed to some individual crusaders, but not to the movement as a whole. For the first 500 years after Christ, the entire Middle East was Christian (with substantial minorities of Jews in urban areas), before the Arabs were converted by Mohammed and swept over the region and throughout the Mediterranean (which was also fully Christian), spreading Islam through conquest. Finally, when the Eastern Roman Empire (today called the Byzantine) could no longer protect Christian pilgrims from Muslims in the Holy Land, the Pope encouraged both pious and warlike nobles and knights of Europe to turn their military energies toward this great and worthwhile endeavor. Plus, tens of thousands of poor people (even children) gave up what little they had and braved famine and hardship to undertake the long journey; all in response to more than four centuries of conquests in which Muslims had already captured two-thirds of the Christian world. At some point, Christianity as a faith and a culture had to defend itself or be taken over by Islam. The Crusades were that defense.

Historically, the crusaders have always been admired, so much so that the word became synonymous with dedication to do good ("crusading reporter," for example, and Batman is the "caped crusader"). Eisenhower called his memoirs "Crusade in Europe" because the Allies were trying to liberate Europe from the Nazi's as the crusades tried to liberate the Holy Land from the conquering warriors of Islam. An anti-Western, anti-Christian bias has taken over higher education since the 60s. You can see its brain-washing in some answers here. In the name of political correctness, they've tried to rewrite history.

Crusaders: Liberators or Conquerors?

From a real historical viewpoint the question as written has major factual/ historical errors/ prejudices incorporated in it.
So, to sort it out.
1. The 'Crusades' were part of the long past historical epoch of the 'Middle Ages' (600AD-1400AD), they have nothing to do with modern times or the historical epochs that followed them (Renaissance 1400-1600, Enlightenment 1700's, Industrial Revolution 1800-1920).
2. Palestine or the 'Holy Land' fell to Britain only by 'accident' as a result of WWI 1914-1918.
3. It was agreed 1917-1922 and again 1948 that part of it should be made a 'homeland for the Jews' because that's where their original state had been 1000BC-140AD.
4. The making of Israel was originally supported by the Christian Protestants of Britain 1860-1930's as being 'Biblical', 'fair', and in accord with what God wanted. It was then supported by the secular United States after WWII and the Holocaust 1945-1948, and then supported by vote of the United Nations 1948/ 1949.
5. Although supported by the UN and the US and the Soviet Union 'Israel' was not 'given' 1948 but because of the Arabic Palestinians refusal had to be 'won' in war and combat by the Jews (1948-1950), (1967), (1973).
6. The long past Medieval Crusaders....fought for religion, for plunder, for theirs and Christian power.
The 'Holy Land' had been the Christian territory of the Byzantine Empire (380AD-640AD), when it was taken in war by the Muslims (about 640AD). They promised to let Christian pilgrims visit it and to respect Christian churches/ sites there, which the Muslims did until 1009, when the promise was broken.
The 'mad Caliph' (Al Hakim) and the invading Turks cut off the Christian pilgrims and destroyed the Christians 'Holy Sepulcher' and 'Christs Tomb' at Jerusalem 1009- 1080's and then made war on the remainder of the European Greek Byzantine Empire. The 'Crusades' were the response in the 1090's.
The Crusaders took what's now Syria, Lebanon, Israel 1099AD and held them till about 1200AD when they reverted to Muslim control, upon promise to respect the Christian places again.
7. Arab 'fighters' who talk about 'Crusades' are talking of ancient history 800/ 900 years ago in a different epoch and not reality of today or the last 500 years.

TESV - Differences between Battlemage And Crusader?

In Skyrim, a class cannot be chosen by the player character, so you're free to play however you want to, without necessarily fitting into any given definition of "class" or profession. The NPCs are programmed in various classes barbarian, blacksmith, conjurer, food vendor, lumberjack, nightblade, etc - but these may or may not conform to the definitions of these classes in other video games, or even other Elder Scrolls games. See: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Classes

The Crusader class in Oblivion (the Elder Scrolls game before Skyrim) used blunt (mace or hammer) and blade, hand-to-hand combat, restoration, destruction, heavy armor. Strength and Willpower were their primary attributes, but Skyrim doesn't use attributes as part of the player build.

The Battlemage class in Oblivion used blunt and blade, too, but did not have armor skills and used a wider range of spells for offense and defense, including alteration, mysticism (which doesn't exist in Skyrim as a skill), destruction, and conjuration, as well as alchemy for healing and other potions. Its primary attributes were Intelligence and Strength.

For some reason, the Battlemage has become associated with heavy armor by many players (maybe battlemages in other games use heavy armor, I don't know). I think it's fair to say, in the context of Elder Scrolls, a Battlemage can use any armor or no armor, but the main focus is on magic as the primary offensive and defensive skills, with weapons as a fall back when needed, while the main focus with a Crusader is melee combat, using destruction and restoration to supplement that.

By that definition, you'd probably be a Crusader. Though that also usually implies that part of your character story is a religious devotion to one or more gods (like clerics or paladins in D&D), and that you are on a particular mission or crusade - whether it be heroic and vanquishing evil, or dark and bent on destruction. Like a knight. If you're not particularly religious (in the context of Skyrim that might be worship of Arkay, Dibella, etc) or super good (or super evil) then maybe you're more like a Battlemage or even a Spellsword.

What were the crusades?

the crusades were an organised attempt at self defense. They were organised by the Curch - which was the only organisation which united the myriad Christian states

the Crusades happened because of an unending attack from muslim invaders- started in 680 AD. By year 1000 they had conquered half of Christian lands- including (today's names) Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Tunisia, Libya, Morrocco, Algeria, Spain and portugal, as well as half of France, Turkey and Italy. The muslim invaders also stormed Rome and burned the Vatican

The last straw was the practice of attacking pilgrims who travelled to Bethleem and Jerusalem- even in times of peace and despite promises of safe conduct

Another important factor was the begging for help received from the Byzantine Empire. The authority of the Church was so great that the Crusade was joined even by the Sicilian Normans (who had recently liberated Southern Italy and Sicily from the moors) who were (till then) at war with Byzantium

What would a modern-day crusade look like?

The Pope declares a ‘Crusade’ to retake the Holy Land. The Jews and Muslims continue to say they have rights to the Holy Land. Here we have three sides:Israel.Islam.The Vatican. The Vatican has no army to speak of and asks for supports of good, Christian nations.Israel currently holds the high ground here, quickly secures its borders far more brutally than it has done so far.The Muslim nations of the world try to get their shit together and work together. If ONLY these sides battled it out, Israel and the various Muslim nations would have a death battle while the Vatican ringed its hands and hoped no one counter attacked. But what if the Vatican convinced some countries with Christian majorities to help? What if the US military assisted? If the US turns on Israel, WWIII breaks out. But how will WWIII look like? We will have some super powers playing it out:The EUThe USAIndiaChinaRussia(Note how none of the primary players are on the list). How these super powers choose their sides will determine the outcome. The US has gone to the Vatican. The EU will go to the Vatican as well, if we’re basing this primarily on religion. But what about India, China and Russia? Russia will go with the Vatican based on religion alone. This leaves Russia and the US on the same side here. Things will be tense.India and China have no religion to choose here. Israel has sold India high tech military gear before and it wanted to do the same with China. With the US out of the way Israel will offer the tech to China and they will become buddy-buddy.Now our three way battle looks like:Israel, China, IndiavsThe Vatican, US, EU, RussiavsMuslim nationsI think if Russia and the US avoid in-fighting they will take the day. If they turn on each other at all, China and India might be able to come to Israel’s aid here. China will great enjoy their tactical position in the middle east as Israel’s ally, and India will enjoy their new stronger position against their neighbors such as Pakistan. I think the only ally Islam could hope for is Russia, but Russia is technically Christian so they will refuse to help as per the rules.Of course, if anyone draws out a nuke we’re all dead.

What is the difference between a crusader and a templar?

A Crusader was any of those who went to fight in any of the Crusades, it is a blanket term for all the knights either living in the Crusader States, or those going on pilgrimage there. The Knights Templar on the other hand, was originally founded in 1119 to protect the pilgrimage routes to Jerusalem, but they quickly became involved in the fighting all around the Crusader States. Although they too became famed as outstanding fighters, the larger part of the order did not fight, but helped to maintain the finances and maintenance. They started the first banks in that they would take pilgrim's gold in Europe and give them a receipt for which they could redeem for gold in Jerusalem. As a results they became very rich, as they charged a fee for the service, and lent the gold left out left back in Europe for a fee (interest).By the turn of the 14th century, the Templars had established a system of castles, churches and banks throughout Western Europe. And it was this astonishing wealth that would lead to their downfall. For the Templars, that end began in the early morning hours of Friday, October 13, 1307.A month earlier, secret documents had been sent by couriers throughout France. The papers included lurid details and whispers of black magic and scandalous sexual rituals. They were sent by King Philip IV of France, an avaricious monarch who in the preceding years had launched attacks on the Lombards (a powerful banking group) and France’s Jews (who he had expelled so he could confiscate their property for his depleted coffers). In the days and weeks that followed that fateful Friday, more than 600 Templars were arrested, including Grand Master Jacques de Molay, and the Order’s treasurer. But while some of the highest-ranking members were caught up in Philip’s net, so too were hundreds of non-warriors; middle-aged men who managed the day-to-day banking and farming activities that kept the organization humming. The men were charged with a wide array of offenses including heresy, devil worship and spitting on the cross, homosexuality, fraud and financial corruption.True or not this is why some say that Friday the 13th is considered unlucky.

Should the West start a new Crusade?

Sorry, what?!WHY?!No, that would be the dumbest idea in the long, tragic history of stupid ideas and I'll tell you why. The Crusades were a vanity project to rebuild the faith and the European nations (and Constantinople, which was becoming distinctly less-European by the year), which were falling on hard times. So the Church cooked up this kooky plot to take back the homeland of Christ from the Saracen (which is a nonsense term for "Muslim") and then wasted the next 400 years and 1-2 million lives doing not that. Oh, they were also a time of unparalleled corruption within the Church and it's dealings with the state, it was a time of unequaled barbarism which saw the rise and fall (in no small part due to treasonous and drunken behaviors, or war crimes) of no less than 25 military monastic orders and 11 that are still technically extant. What would be the possible benefit of reliving all that shit again, but with bigger and better weapons?!

What was the real cause of the Crusades?

The Crusades were a series of military attacks launched by Western Europe on Muslims and the Islamic world from 1095 to 1291. These wars which were sanctioned by Christian leadership and the Catholic Church, took place between followers of two big and powerful religions in a very vast geographical area.  As we shall mention the details and instances in the detailed answer, historians consider the sermon preached by Pope Urban II at Clermont-Ferrand in November 1095 to have been the spark that fueled a wave of military campaigns against Muslims lasting for a period of two hundred years. Historians have divided these wars into as many as eight periods or phases the most important and most effective of which was the first crusade attack which resulted in the occupation of Bait al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). This holy land remained under the occupation of the crusaders for 83 years until Salah al-Din Ayyubi (better known in the West as Saladin) prepared an army of strong and dedicated Muslim soldiers who fought Christians and restored the land. This was not the end of the war because the crusaders imposed a series of wars on the Islamic world later on but they never succeeded in taking back the Holy Land from Muslims. Indeed many believe there was only an interval in 1291 in the wars between Muslims and Christians and the wars never ended. It has been going on as of today. The wars imposed by Christian dominated countries on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan are aimed at realizing the goals of the crusaders to destroy Muslims and loot their properties. There is no end in sight to these wars.  The consequences of the crusades were both positive and negative. The positive consequences were mostly for Christian society:  1. Correcting the European people's mentality about Islam and Muslims as well as knowing the great Islamic civilization and its humane doctrines.  2. Formal opposition of the Catholic Church on the part of Christians and calling for reform in the Christian religion in which the Catholic Church had no power.  3. Formation of the Western civilization.  There is no denying that the crusades have been one of the main causes of the formation of the Western civilization as they helped acquaint Europeans with Islamic civilization finally laying the foundation of modern civilization. These preparations can be followed up in two parts: a) scientific prosperity b) social impacts.  http://www.islamquest.net/en/arc...
