Are Bettas Compatible With Angel Fish

Can you put a betta with a angel fish?

my friend has a betta and wants to get a angel fish to put with it. would that be okay? would they hurt each other and she only has a one gallon tank...should she get a bigger one????

What other fish are compatible with GloFish?

That completely depends on which kind of glo fish. Barbs are somewhat aggressive, as are danios. Tetras are very passive.Mollies are good fish to mix with these species as they're bigger. Get more mollies than glo fish and you should be ok.(Figure appx 1 fish per gallon of water. And you should have one algae eater in a ten gallon tank: either a plecostamus or loach...But plecostamus turn into monsters, so beware). All glo fish are schooling fish, as are mollies, meaning they do better as a group.A good mix would be a school of danios and barbs (say, 4 of each) in a ten gallon tank. Or, six tetras and four mollies. Or four mollies, and two barbs and two danios. Or four tetras and either three danios or three barbs. I hope this makes logical sense.

Angel fish vs betta who would win?

I'm not for fighting fish in anyway, but anyone who says a Betta could beat an Angel is dead wrong. Unless you have Angels, you shouldn't be answering this question and if you do, you'd agree with me.

A small Angel might not succeed but a decent size one would. My Angels are not even a year old and 7 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches long. They are very thick and have bossed around Oscars at one point. Since mine are a pair they are more aggressive, but I doubt a Betta could ever beat a full grown Angel. At least not mine. I have an adult year old Betta in an adjacent tank. He's full of spunk, over-confidence and pretty big, but he'd be no match for the Angels. That's why he has his own tank.

Plus, a trick my Angels have come up with (which they learned while fighting each other) is that if they pull on the gills, it kills the other fish. So now if they don't like a fish in there, I find it's gills plates ripped out. I don't know if other fish know this or if it's learned but it's deadly. Therefore my Angels have a tank to themselves, besides a Pleco.

Angel fish with bettas?

Personally I wouldn't mix the two, angels can get a bit nippish and would probably deal the Betta fits.

With a divider it would be fine though.

I have a betta, blue gourami and an angelfish in my 35 gallon tank and all are male, so is it safe?

I have captured a video of how gourami attacks a goldfish that's calm. But imagine betta and Angelfish which are aggressive and semi aggressive respectively. If it's 35 gallon tank betta doesn't attack. They'll find their hiding spot and stay there. But the gourami might still attack them. I recently noticed that my gourami was attacking the angelfish. So it is one of the most dangerous combination.

Betta fish and angelfish+guppies?

African Leaf Fish compatibility?

I just discovered African Leaf Fish at Petsmart last night and I think they're fascinating! (Although I read somewhere else online that the ones Petsmart sells as African Leaf Fish are actually Leopard Ctenopoma... but to me, the pictures online look almost exactly the same). I would love to have one or two for the 50 gallon tank I'm planning, but I don't know if they'd be compatible.
Here's what I'm planning for my 50 gallon:
-Female Betta Sorority (6)
-neon or cardinal tetra (6)
-Glow Light Tetra (6)
-zebra or leopard danio (6)
-Julii Cory Catfish or Oto Cats (3)
-angelfish (1)
It will be heavily planted, and have sand as a substrate.

Could I get a leaf fish? Would they be compatible? Should I get two or would one be ok? I realize they grow to be 6 inches (though the ones I saw in the store were about 2) Would it be too big for my tank?

Thanks!

Do Angel fish and Bettas 'get along'? (males and females)?

I'd be inclined to agree with Ian, Angel. I think in general they wouldn't get along. I would mention, as you must know keeping Angels too, that they are rather slow moving by comparison to other fish though, and this is an advantage for a Betta, which is a step or 2 faster then most Angels. However, there is going to be stress, which is something to consider, that even if the Betta's could avoid a much larger harassing Angel, the Betta is likely to be under stress, and this will eventually kill a fish. Continued stress on fish contribute to lower immune systems, and weakend hearts ect...almost much what you'll see in people.

If I were going to say that in general a Betta can't be with any cichlid, I wouldn't fling it out there so blindly without saying, it should be balanced against the tank size. Without linking tank size into that statement, it leaves one open to think if you had a 300 gallon tank with say, Mbuna or Kribs, or Rams in there, you can't keep a Betta in there too? Baloney. It's just irresponsible statements made, and of course YA don't care if people actually know what they are talking about or not. In general, since I'd probably agree that most hobbyists don't keep larger tanks, then yeah, it's a safe thing to say I guess. I just like to be more accurate in what I say. In almost any larger tank, and where you have cichlids that are substrate or lower level dwellers, this really shouldn't be any problem at all. In the 40 with Angels, I'd have to side with this probably isn't going to turn out very well. Move that up to maybe a 75 or 90, then it more likely would.

Can angelfish and betta fish live together?

You can try them all together I've never heard of the others but the betta and Angel fish and I've had a king betta and Angel fish live together for a long time and they were fine it all depends on the fish put them all together and see who gets along then you will know

Can an Angel fish and Male Crowntail Betta fish live together?

There are quite a few issues with this...

1. Angelfish and Betta Fish (in general) are very territorial. If anything, putting them together would result in a fight to the death, or intense bullying on the Angelfish's part.

2. Angelfish require a large tank size due to how tall they grow - I had an Angelfish grow up to its full height of ten inches in a thirty gallon tank. This is a reason I got rid of it: My tank was a little too small and I gave it to someone in the area who had a bigger tank.
