Are Conservatives More Likely To Hide Legal Information From The Public

Why do conservatives hate liberals?

I mean, I'm a liberal and I don't hate conservatives. I might disagree with them but I don't hate them. Conservatives seem to think that liberals are ruining this country. They have made this claim countless times, but I cannot recall a single time a liberal has accused a conservative of ruining America. They also are more aggressive in their campaign ads. They accuse Obama of being a socialist (which isn't really that bad) and make ties to Nazism and Communism that don't even exist. Hell, some have even gone so far as to label him the "Anti-Christ". Conservative attack ads are little more than character assassinations and hate-speech, while liberal attack ads focus on their opponents policies.
My question is this: why do conservatives hate liberals?

Do conservative professors have to hide their political affiliation in order to avoid ostracization?

Several good answers already. Not in my experience. As some answers have indicated, many right-wing academics cluster by discipline. They therefore form a local departmental majority. Some of these disciplines include finance, some ECon departments, many engineering departments, stategic or securities studies depts. Many colleges and universities have predominantly right-wing student populations. Examples include many religious colleges and universities, state schools in very conservative communities. These tend to attract a higher proprotion of conservative faculty.Left wing faculty tend to bend over backward for right-wing faculty. Frankly, many left-wing faculty feel more comfortable around right-wingers than around left-wingers from a different ideological strain. For example, many left-wingers of a deep-environm3entalist strain are more comfortable engaging in friendly sparring with civilized right-wingers than they are with neo-Marxist faculty who look for economic bases.Left wing faculty tend to be very careful not to antagonize right-wing faculty. Rememebr the diversity push? Conservatives are often another protected minority. to be frank, they are a highly treasured population, as they help deflect complaints by state regulators, Conservative donors, etc.As the other answers point out, most faculty to do not have much time to dwell on partisan politics. Most faculty emembers are extremely busy. Most spend the majority of their time on research, supervising post-docs and grad students, securing funding etc. the most bitter campus political fights tend to be over campus operation not nebulous national politics. Thanks for the a2A Joseph Mangi

Which Ivy League college has the most politically conservative students?

It depends on your definition of “conservative”…If you are talking about Midwest mom-and-apple-pie socially conservative, I don’t think you’re going to find that strongly represented at any of the Ivy Leagues. If you are talking about Rockefellar I’m-a-capitalist-bitch-and-I-masturbate-to-Ayn-Rand conservative, then you can probably find enough of them at any of the Ivy Leagues to not be too lonely, but conventional wisdom says Dartmouth is the place you’ll feel most at home.Dartmouth is after all located in the “Live Free or Die” state, although these days it’s mostly just a state for Massachusetts residents who want tax breaks. And on that note, let me add one particular irony:If you go to an Ivy League, you’re not supposed to promote capitalism too much, even though capitalism very much thrives on the heels of most Ivy League graduates, and is very much alive in the most liberal parts of the country. For instance, the peeps in Silicon Valley are the biggest capitalists in America, but they get a free pass because they are “disrupting” old institutions and making the world a better place. The great robber barons of the 19th Century like Carnegie, Rockefellar and of course Stanford understood this principle as well — blatant capitalism with a little bit of “I care for the little guy” PR goes a long way. So rest assured that you will find plenty of true capitalists in the Ivy Leagues who are capitalist on the inside, even if they’re wearing a free Karl Marx t-shirt on the outside. A lot of the professors may be true socialists, but keep in mind these are the people who chose a low-paying faculty job over a high-paying Wall Street job. They are there to maintain the charade that the Ivy Leagues are harmless hippie socialist institutions rather than a system to maintain the status quo of America’s 1%.But nowhere in New England are you likely to find traditional American social conservatism anymore. The descendants of the Puritans who remained conservative pretty much all moved west, as far as I know. The only social conservatives I’ve ever seen in New England are children of Catholic immigrants, who still tend to vote blue for Democrats. If you’re a social conservative and you want an Ivy League education, you’re going to have to suck it up and be a bit of an outcast for four years to get your education. Ditto if you want to go to any of the prestigious schools on the West Coast (Stanford, Berkeley, etc.)

Why are conservatives so scared of Syrian refugees?

Cons are afraid of their own shadows. This was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt after 9/11 when Bush brought out the Threat Level Indicator. Homeland Security and right wing media planted a propaganda seed that Muslim would be crossing the country with crop dusters and model airplanes spraying every small town with poison gas. Rather than thinking about the impossible logistics involved in such an operation the nervous cons cleared hardware store shelves of duct tape and plastic sheeting.

Do you think we should ask the Presidential candidates to take a lie detector test before the elections?

I am still amazed that people who want to run for public office, don't have to take a back ground check and get a finger print clearance card the same as teachers and bus drivers have to do.

The chances are very great that we elect public officials who wouldn't qualify to do any other job because they couldn't pass a back ground check.

In my opinion, back ground checks should be made public so that anyone who knows ahead of time that they couldn't pass it, wouldn't even waste our time and money even trying.

Our elected officials make rules concerning education and health care and yet can't even get a good finger print clearance card. They go into our schools but for all we know, could be pediphiles or felons. Would you want a surgeon who has a criminal record working on you? Worse, we have elected officials with criminal records working on you!!!

If we did back ground checks, we wouldn't have all this campaign mud slinging wasting our time and money on advertising from people who have alterior motives. I'm sick of our system!
