Are Hypnotists Safe Is It Safe To Get Hypnotised

Is getting hypnotised safe?

hi,
i have a real problem with sleeping (like really bad) and it has been going on for 8 years now (i just can't fall asleep no matter how tired i am)
so i was google searching it the other day and stumbled across this hypnotist who reckons she can fix sleeping problems with hypnotherpy.... is it safe or is she gonna do something weird to me cause shes playing around with my sub-conscience!

If two hypnotist are trying to hypnotise each other, will both be hypnotised or none be hypnotised?

This would not likely work with traditional hypnosis but is actually a game some of us who use conversational (covert) hypnosis play. It is a wonderful training and practice tool. It is called 'dueling hypnosis'. The 'winner' is the one that gets the other to go into the trance they are attempting to induce. To play the first starts with their initial comment and then the other person replies. Each attempts to use wording, speech patterns and voice fluctuations to induce the start of a trance. It becomes obvious when one has been effective because the pause and mild disoriented state of the person who has dropped into a momentary trance displays. The person does not remain in trance for more than a few seconds but may take a minute or so to regain their normal thought and speaking patterns. that said only one will be hypnotized by the other and then it is only for a moment. To continue and deepen the trance once the person does go into trance would be a violation of trust and is against the rules. I have never seen or heard of anyone who has not respected the rules. One of the most effective ways to use conversational hypnosis which many professionals and experienced persons will use is to place themselves in a mild trance state before using the conversational hypnosis. With experience, this can be done within the timespan of a breath or two. For most persons this mild trance is totally unnoticeable however some mild body language which will differ between hypnotists may become more pronounced. When playing 'dueling hypnosis' if a hypnotists places themselves in this mild functional trance, it can give them an advantage. It is considered a fair use advantage as both may do so and commonly used as part of the go first principle. Being relatively undetectable it can provide a difficulty against being put into a second trance. If noticed, it may be hijacked and controlled which is then considered to be a win.Conversational hypnosis does not require the other person to agree to the hypnosis, it does not require any visual focus and may be used without the subject even being aware that they were hypnotized. It is possible to use over the telephone which also make playing dueling hypnosis possible to be played over the telephone with time limits for the response to be given.

Is it possible to get hypnotised by watching a hypnotism video on youtube?

Kind of yes if you follow the instructions. It's much more easier if you have been hypnotised before. The same version is available in MP3 where a set of instructions has to be followed and people goes into trance ( hypnotic state)

How can I let myself get hypnotized to a YouTube hypnotism video?

Firstly, think about why you want to be hypnotised. Is it just for the experience or do you wan to be hypnotised to make a change?Next, it’s important to have an idea of what to expect from hypnosis. Often people expect that they are going to have something like an out of body experience or feel very different to any previous time. In most cases I would say that is unlikely to happen. If you are listening to a relaxation track it’s likely to help you achieve a good feeling of relaxation - either one that you’re familiar with or perhaps more enhanced than previous times.Everyone experiences hypnosis in their own way, just as people have different reactions to music or films. Then as Ellen says, find a video that has a description that appeals to you and give it a go. The voice and/or background music are important because if they annoy you then you will find it difficult to get into a good focused state. If one doesn’t work for you, don’t give up, try another one. If you want to be hypnotised to make changes in your life though a personal session with a hypnotist will probably give you the best results, though I do know people who have made big life changes purely by listening to a hypnosis track. There is a short version of one of my relaxation tracks that you can listen to for free here

Is there any danger in an AMATEUR hypnotist hypnotizing someone?

I was curious if the experience of a hypnotist would have any effect on safety (Such as an inability to bring someone out of trance). When I say "amateur" I mean someone with NO prior experience with hypnotism (Think someone who has watched a few rapid induction tutorials on youtube or is attempting to copy professionals). And if this doesn't have a measurable effect on safety,Would there be any additional safety guidelines an inexperienced hypnotist would have to follow ?

Is hypnosis dangerous if is performed by a non-expert hypnotist?

Hypnosis is not dangerous per se, whether carried out by a seasoned professional or a learner. Hypnosis is not about controlling the other person - they (the subject) are always in control at all times. That said, the hypnotist has a tremendous degree of responsibility to ensure the safety of the subject at all times. For example, make sure there is no physical danger to them (this side of things is far more of an issue in hypnosis performances rather than and therapeutic type of hypnosis, of course). For your sake and theirs, best to avoid people with any serious mental health issues - something which is true even for qualified hypnotists until they have specialist training and experience in that area. For most people learning hypnosis, even from a book or a home study course etc, neither of the above issues are likely to arise, so you are OK there. One thing which can catch you out those is “abreaction”, i,e. where the subject reacts in a way which is not expected. Typical examples might be them bursting into tears or worse when the hypnosis session triggers off an old hitherto buried unpleasant memory. So that’s something to watch for and pay attention to what your books say about handling that. It’s not dangerous, it’s just potentially deeply unpleasant for both parties if mishandled! So, in short - no, it is not dangerous, certainly there’s nothing inherently wrong with teaching yourself from books, just make sure you respect your limits, be mindful and respectful of the other person, and take it carefully.I’d certainly recommend looking to find somewhere “live” to learn, train and practice though if you are serious about hypnosis, it will make a big difference.Good luck either way.Oh, and that article is generally nonsense (although do check out local laws).

Is it safe to get hypnotized very often?

Yes, so long as the suggestions / goal is appropriate and you are happy to be conducive to it there is no reason it should be dangerous. However, whilst it can be useful to get hypnosis / self-hypnotise on a regular basis, in the context of therapy, there should be goals so you will be making progress and therefore not neccesarily needing the hypnosis for the same reason for and indefinite amount of time. The hypnotic suggestions themselves wear off, sometimes actually quite quickly - it is the thought patterns and new habits which have been created which last so unless the hypnosis somehow encourages you to do something you later regret, which is unlikely unless there is very intentional malpractice, generally speaking, it is safe. It's' really important to note though that whilst there are many theories, nobody is certain exactly as to the mechanism by which hypnosis works, or indeed, how exactly the conscious and sub-conscious mind works at all. Therefore, it is possible that some practices or approaches may not be in line with what you need psychologically or spiritually if you see things that way. A practitioner may have a way of working with you which does not gel with your psyche. At the end of the day you need to ask yourself: "Does this feel right? Do I feel that this is truly helping?" Check that no part of you feels as though it is trying hard to reject what is happening. Listen to follow your intuition with respect to this and you aught be safe.

How can I get hypnotized?

Close your eyes. Take three slow deep breathes. And imagine your eyes becoming more relaxed. And the more you imagine them becoming relaxed the more you just allow your body to relax more you focus on your eyes becoming heavier and heavier full of heavy relaxation and just notice the more heavy they become the more relaxed you feel and the more relaxed you feel the heavier they become now when you know that your eyes are so heavy and relaxed so relaxed and heavy that they are just stuck. Try and open your eyes and you can't because they are so heavy and relaxed now stuck stuck stuck. And the more you try the more stuck they become and the more you can just relax now.... Now in a moment but not yet you will count from one to five  and on five you will feel fresh and alert and your eyes will open, your eyes can open. Read the above script on a phone in a slow voice and play it to yourself following the instructions while sat comfortably in a chair and notice what happens. When your eyes become so heavy that you can't open them then just relax and count to five and they will open. This is a simple hypnotic test. You can also imagine a favourite location where you are relaxed and comfortable and just experience it and as you do notice how relaxed and good you feel now.

Is SquareEater safe to use or will it hypnotize?

Just found this link to this website. It's supposed to create music that stimulates positive brainwaves or whatever and makes you go into a trance of somesort. I can only find, like, 2 reviews of it. I'm kind of scared to try it. Is it gonna, like, hypnotize me to murder my family or something?
