How important are looks in life?
Important, but not very.Let's go back to when I was in classes 9–10I had Severe acne. Very severe. Something like this.Acne vulgaris it was.It started off slow, a pimple here and there, then it started spreading from my forehead.It looked so bad that I had to cover my forehead with my hair.Not bragging but earlier I was the so called “Pretty boy” to the people,But now that I had this acne all over my face, no one wanted to talk to me and everybody, each and every single day at school I got comments on how ugly and disgusting I look.I used to come back home everyday and cry. Only my parents know what I went through.I remember one incident, back in class 9.There was a new admission, a girl.I sat alone in class, but the only seat that was empty was beside me.She entered late in the class and our class teacher asked her to sit beside me.The words she said next, I'll never forget in my whole life.“Ewww, please ma'am don't make me sit beside that creepy guy”Do I need to say anything more?Now years later, I look something like this.The same people who once said I'm ugly, now compliment me. Indeed I've gone through a transformation and I'm so thankful for it.So yes, looks are important. That's how people in this world will judge you.You can't change your face, but you can surely change how you look, by just taking care of yourself and your skin.Acne vulgaris wasn't due to my bad skin care routine, it was because of teenage and genetics.Always be presentable and try to look your best, what's the harm in that?Btw the same girl who once insulted me, is now going through phases of acne. Karma.
Why are looks so important these days?
Im 13, and im fat, iv had 1 girlfriend ( on and off for about 2 years )so shes basically about it. I want to know why looks are so important! The girl i love ( yes, im 13, but i do actually love this person ) goes for looks, so those guys dont actually like her and treat her like crap! So once they break up she comes crying back to me and the rest of our friends and it reapetes. I know she ONLY like me as a friend because she made it clear many times. She has the greatest personality and she beautiful. WHY are looks SO important?! Its not fair.
Why are beautiful looks so important today?
you may have been called ‘hot’ ‘sexy’ or even such related words a lot of times. Like , it’s so common right? Going out with somebody, what is the first thing we notice? What thoughts do we have in mind? We have a two sided mind which deicdes whether the person is attractive or nah. In today’s society being physically attractive is what is looked forward to the most. And why not? We see so many movies which has probably brainwashed our ideas about beauty. People often turn towards people who are attractive or physically appealing. I wouldn’t blame them, it’s because we all have forgotten, that beauty is something that shines within you. Being attractive, may win the eyes of the people but surely not their hearts. It’s all stuck up in our minds, we have categorized beauty as to someone relating to the person in the magzine you just saw, or the movie you just watched? We all have forgotten that the beautiful face and body you are drooling over today, it’s going to turn old , it’s not going to be as beautiful as it might be now. What is gonna last is the beauty whitin you, it’s never going to fade away. And its really hard to find people who admire your inner beauty. Because in this long run, everyone’s trying to get the attention of that most attractive girl/guy. Making people feel beautiful is what makes you beautiful. Judging people with their physical beauty is like reading a bad book just because its cover is attractive.
Why is social status so important to women these days?
It's basic biology. Back in the good old cave-man days, men were hunters and providers and women were child-rearers. Men's brains were hard-wired to fulfill the urge to mate with as many women possible, while women's were hard-wired to be selective, to mate with someone who would be a good provider for her offspring. Nothing has changed biologically, but the times sure have changed. Today our worth is no longer measured by how successful we are at hunting wooly mammoths or figthing off saber-tooth tigers, or leading the tribe to the best sources of food or best places to find shelter, but the principles are exactly the same. Nowadays, women measure a man's worth by gauging who is the best looking, dresses the best, scores the most touchdowns, is the most popular, has the coolest parties, who has the most expensive car, the biggest house, the biggest salary. Yep, it's just basic biology. You can't blame women for being gold-diggers, it just happened that way.
Do girls generally think big boobs are important?
Only the insecure ones.
Why are stars important in our everyday life?
They are the largest of objects in the universe. There are so many of them. They seem wonderful and scary at one and the same time. When I look at them it seems they give a perspective to my life. I cannot think of them without thinking of the smallest things in the universe and realize that somehow we seem to be in the middle of these two extremes and even though they are far away from us they still affect us even though I do not understand how.Stars are important because they make us think. Also they compliment the moon very nicely and the whole scene makes me feel good inside. I like stars. I do not like it when people tell me that the moon and stars are drifting away from the earth. That is information I do not need to know. There is a lot in life we do not need to know. Stars are beautiful and that is enough for me.
Does the title of NBA All Star represent anything important other than popularity these days seeing as actual performance and statistics don't seem to influence which players are chosen?
The NBA all-star selection is a bit weird. On the one hand, it is a popularity contest where fans choose the starters and for the most part, it measures who are the best-known players at their position. But it’s also a meritocracy where the two respective coaches pick the rest of the team which can give recognition to players who may not get as much national exposure or play in smaller markets. So for all-star reserves, it’s much more likely their selection is influenced more by performance than popularity.Is it important? Well, it can bring endorsements, it can raise a player’s asking price when he hits free agency, it can make him more attractive to teams. Being an all-star, along with things like playoff appearances, all-NBA team selections, and player awards are nice additions to the bio when Hall of Fame voting comes along, so for a players career, it’s important.There is no doubt that all-star voting is about popularity, especially if a player in on a higher profile team. But a reserve pick is more likely to be selected on his merits.
