Are Prozac And Risperdone Considered

Is this a normal side effect of Prozac or risperidone?

I've been taking Prozac and risperidone for the last couple weeks and I never feel like eating anymore. When I think about eating, I feel nauseated. All the foods I used to love no just sound gross to me now. Is this normal? Will it go away eventually?

Questions about Risperdal 0.25 mg and Prozac 10mg?

I was diagnosed with Depression, OCD, and maybe a little Bipolar. I was on Effexor 75mg and my doctor wants to take me off the effexor and put me on the prozac and risperdal. What are the side effects and will it help??? I will be taking Amitriptyline (Chronic Migraines) and Alevert (Allergies). Also, for being such a small dose of risperdal what are the chances that I will gain weight??? Thank you for your help :)

Can I take Benadryl while on Prozac / Risperdol?

my dear there are no major drug-drug interaction between anti-allergic Benadryl and your medicine that is why it will be safe to take Benadryl & But i have a comment on your combination ( Fluoxetine and Risperidone ) they have a serious drug-drug interaction in which fluoxetine increase the level of risperidone by affecting the hepatic metabolism and may lead to undesirable effects of Risperidal you take just to inform your doctor to adjust your dose :)

I am on prozac and risperdal. Can I still do ecstasy?

If you're on an anti-psychotic drug, it's complete foolishness to consider the use of "recreational" pharmaceuticals. You should be concentrating on stabilizing what you have, before you go messing with it.

Using drugs that are not prescribed for you is only undermining any attempt to lead a functional life.

I'm going to say a big NO on this one. I'd also recommend that you abstain from all mind-altering substances, including alcohol.

I have the feeling you don't really want sane advice, though, but rather justification for what you're going to do anyway.

Can you overdose on cymbalta, fluoxetine (prozac), and risperidone?

I am not a doctor or a pharmacist, so I can't tell you reliably how those drugs are likely to interact. However, poisoning in general is an unreliable suicide method, for exactly the reason you cite: your body handles it pretty well by making you throw up. I know your suggested dosage of prozac is potentially dangerous, but only if you don't throw up and no one catches on in time to get you medical treatment. In other words, you could die, but it's at least as likely that you'll just puke your brains out.

You say the cymbalta is not yours. Is the risperdone? You mentioned depression only, not bipolar disorder, which is why I ask. Risperdone is a mood stabilizer, not an antidepressant, so if you have straightforward depression it's a weird thing to be on. If you're not bipolar, or you are but have been consistently depressed for a long time, that might be something to talk to your doctor about.

Of course if the risperdone is not yours...it still might be an idea to try and adjust your medication before you actually attempt suicide. Maybe another medication, or an altered dose would help with the suicidal thoughts. Maybe you need some other kind of therapy or more of some other kind. I realise that after several years of suicidal thoughts the idea of trying still more non-lethal interventions isn't necessarily appealing, but getting the depression under control is so worth it. You deserve to live. You deserve to *want* to live. If there is any chance you can get the depression under control: changed medications or dosages, vitamins, talk therapy, excersize program, anything, then you should try that first. The only good that ever comes out of attempting suicide is that things like that get tried. When you survive a suicide attempt you have to deal with loss of control, stigma, possible health problems, family's reaction...better to be *sure* it's your last option before you try.

If you were prescribed risperidone, and it says generic for risperdal, what does it mean?

Risperdal is the first brand name for the drug risperidone, like Xanax is the first brand name for alprazolam and Prozac is the first brand name for fluoxetine. The name is there to help you understand what the drug is.I think you might then ask: is it the same? The answer is yes and no.Yes because it's the same recipe and it's absorption in the body is proven to be similar (within a specified legal limit). No because even though Coca Cola and Pepsi are supposed to be the same, they are not.At first, doctors preferred using the first brand name drug because the studys of efficacy where done with that drug made by that company in that factory with that material and all pills from the brand where the same. Then, big pharma started outsourcing their manufacture to countries like India, with a very different quality control and nowadays we really don't know any more. What I do now is rely on effect. It either works or doesn't work. And the drug is only of a number of factors to explain effect.

Is this a normal side effect for Risperidone?

So, I'm on risperidone for depression with citalopram. 1mg of risperidone daily and 20 mg citalopram daily. I just bumped up my dose of risperidone from .5 to 1 mg and after the first couple days of that double dose I am feeling so dizzy and unbalanced. Is this normal? Will it go away like the other side effects or should I try to see my doctor sooner? I was fine on the .5 mg.
