Are There Any Good White Motherboards

Need Pic of Motherboard from Gateway E-4500D?

Motherboard: Intel D945GPB, E210882

I merely need a high resolution picture of the bottom left corner of the motherboard, just below the CPU. I just need to be able to see the white connector on the motherboard that is right above an IDE connector on the mobo with the front panel LEDs and power switch cables connected so I can figure out what goes where.

This is a microBTX motherboard that I accidentally bought not knowing it was a replacement mobo for a gateway. The website never said it was a gateway and never came with a manual, so I have no information on exactly where which power connectors, status LED lights, and what not go. Mainly because I bought a replacement case for my old dell that crapped out and tried to do it on the cheap. Opps. Won't be doing that again. xP

Thankies, and 10 points to whoever can provide me with this visual information! Close up pic that is posted on photobucket, flicker, some online website, or e-mailed to me will work just fine. Just make sure to post here so I can give credit. :)

What is a good recommendation for a white motherboard for around $100-$120 with USB 3.0?

A2A: I didn’t know that was a thing. But looking around, there seems to be some consensus for the white ones in the ASUS Sabertooth Z170 family. However, they may not make your budget. The following one does but only sports what they refer to as a “white aesthetic” (for the exposed portions): Amazon.com: ASUS PRIME Z270-A LGA1151 DDR4 DP HDMI DVI M.2 USB 3.1 Z270 ATX Motherboard: Computers & Accessories. If you just search on “white motherboard”, you will certainly find folks willing to express their opinions. But you probably need to make a restriction for the type of CPU socket you need and, perhaps, RAM type. USB 3.0 will almost certainly be there on anything new.

Switching from graphics card to motherboard video chip?

There's a variety of ways to answer this question. First, it depends on your motherboard. Many manufacturer PC's come with "on-board" video that shares system memory for video performance. Some motherboards, but very few, may not have on-board video. Second, it depends on your BIOS. When your computer first turns on, as it goes through POST, you'll see "press xx to enter SETUP". xx can be an "F" key or Delete. This depends on the type of BIOS that is installed on your system. If your BIOS settings have never been manipulated, AUTO-DETECT may be selected as your default, or primary video device.

I would simply remove the graphics card. If i'm not mistaken, the white plug is a DVI connector and the blue plug is your VGA connector. You do not need both connections plugged into the same monitor. If you remove the white DVI cable and leave the blue VGA cable plugged into the monitor, and plug the other end of the VGA plug into your blue 15-pin jack, then power on your computer, BIOS should detect a new video source on its own.

Are any dual-sockets motherboards good enough for workstations?

Dual sockets can be used by any modern consumer OS, starting with Windows NT. I actually had a workstation with 2 Pentium 2's and 1 GB of RAM.Server motherboards, may be more reliable. I can say that I don't remember ever having any computer fail because the mother board went bad. And I have had some very cheap white boxes. Power supplies on the other hand, are worth spending extra dollars on.I am using the spec's for an Intel Core i7.Intel® Core™ i7 Processor SpecificationsAnd looked at several motherboards from NewEgg.SuperMicro Server MotherboardsIf we are talking about running, Linux, lets use Oracle's 6.4 version as it is a server version and one instance of Windows 7, I would say this system would be be way over the top.The only way a system like this makes sense is if you have multiple VM's and are using them intensively all the time. Say running AutoCad on one, Adobe Photoshop on another and network simulations on 6 to ten more. And maybe doing a massive compile on the underlying Linux instance. To give you a perspective on this; my laptop is an IBM T61. Core 2 4 GB of RAM. OpenSuse, primary OS, Virtual Box as the virtualization solution. And I run Windows XP, Windows 7 32bit and Oracle Server 6.4.

Which board is better MSI Z77A-GD65 GAMING or ASUS P8Z77-V PRO?

I can't choose. I am upgrading my computer and I wanted to go with a new board and a new chassis. I bought a the NZXT Switch 810 in white and I want a board that looks good and is reliable. I currently have an Asus motherboard but I want one that looks better. So the question is which motherboard is, in general, better.
