Are There Any Hotels Going Through Renovations

What is the cost of renovation of a hotel room?

Hotel renovation comes in cycles, and cost can depend on your flag. Have you just bought the hotel, and need to overhaul the rooms to bring it up to fit the flag (or converting to a new, higher flag)? Expect about $12,000 for that.Or is your FF&E mostly okay, just some new furniture here and there, and everything is repairable? Around $7,000 a room.Is this an old hotel, and everything needs to be done to bring it up to code? Ouch. Expect $100,000 a room.As a higher flag, generally, we will try to spread things out, such as carpets one year, FF&E the next, etc., up and until PIP’s are due by our flag to bring us up into the modern look that they want to keep it looking uniform throughout the brand. Your other options are dropping down a flag or going independent; we consider that the “final solution”, and only if the market isn’t producing.

Can I get a cash credit loan for hotel renovation?

Dear friend, cash credit limits is only for working capital purpose,… means for what you are buying and selling day to day working….that means you can used to pay to creditors toward purchasing of raw or finished stocks , or your blocking amount in inventory and credit sell. For renovation you have to apply for term loan facility.

What are ideal gifts for hotel guests during the Hotel's renovation?

Renovation is done in Hotel rooms, few floors at a time.Reno period is about one year and the gifts are meant as a gesture of thanking guests for their understanding and support

My hotel decided to renovate one of their hallways while people are still living in it. Are they breaking any fire / building codes?

Hotels and motels can (and do) renovate their facilities with guests staying there. There is no law against that unless they are doing as such in an unsafe manner or without a permit to do so from the municipality in which they are located. For the sake of courtesy to their guests, the overwhelming majority will post a sign or placard in the lobby or they will tell you when you check in.Or both.If you are certain that this was not done and this hotel is a chain, I would advise you to immediately contact their 1-800 customer service number and complain vigorously. If they filed to notify you then the manager has really dropped the ball and they need to compensate you in some manner for your inconvenience. If the customer service line provides you with no assistance, then I would consider checking out of the hotel and finding another. If the hotel is privately-owned, then you can certainly complain, but they may not be willing to assist you. I would contact the front desk and a get a number where you can lodge a complaint. If they are hesitant to do this or they tell that they "did" let you know, check out and go to another property.Frankly, if you feel that you have received poor service and you are not assisted in this by the hotel, I would place one or more factual bad reviews on several online web sites, including Yelp. This will cost them business and sometimes that's what needs to be done to get a business to take care of their customers.

How often do hotel change their interiors?

Typically well run hotels will plan on updating room interiors and public spaces every 7 years. This is very fluid as  a lot depends on how good of a maintenance department you have and how well they keep the furniture touched up for nicks and scratches, walls painted when there is damage, etc.I'd also like to add there are different levels to a renovation, from updating the soft assets in a room (such as mattresses, seating, drapery, case goods) to a full blown renovation where you are replacing bathroom tiles and fixtures, upgrading to more efficient heating and cooling, redesigning the lobby, all carpeting & tile, etc.I also feel when you begin to hear often from reviews guests commenting the hotel looks tired and dated, then you need to listen. If you notice along with this a loss in business, or you are forced into driving down rates to maintain business, then this is a cue it's time to pull the trigger and renovate.Of course, many hotel chains throughout the year have inspectors conducting quality assurance inspections and they may very well dictate when a renovation needs to be completed or you will lose your flag if you don't maintain their level of standards, the last thing you want to have happen.Wise thing is as soon as you open your doors you need to be budgeting for renovations.

New york city - what's happening to Chelsea hotels?

At the Chelsea Hotel the new owners are rigidly trying to gentrify the building by kicking long-standing residents out. Remodelling is being done at a snails pace with cheap materials, dust and the like make it insufferable for the tenants. Infuriating, at the very least. This once great structure, full of life, fell to the highest bidder with the worst intent.I stayed there for a spell. Folks residing within are amazing, with stories for days. The most artistic, kind, and innovative folks you'll likely ever meet, a family. Most have been relocated and others are still fighting to keep their homes.I wish Stanley Bard would be able to take hold of the reigns again, gentle man, a heart of gold.I'm certain that when the building is open once more, it'll be a shell of what it once was. Albeit a shiny, brand new, shell. To me, the residents made this place stand-out. Meeting people there was unlike meeting people the world over. So many musicians, activists, artists. Those places don't truly exist much anymore and by refurbishing this building and ridding it of it's character, the new owner is making a drastic mistake.

What do hotels do with old mattresses when they replace them?

Most furniture that is replaced in a hotel is re-sold to a downscale hotel whose franchise requirements - if any - are not as stringent. This goes for mattresses and box springs as well, although the market is limited. Usually, if you get a hotel taker, it'll be the raggedy little Deluxe Inn down the road that needs to replace a dozen or so of theirs. They have to have gotten really rumpsprung or saggy before you don't have at least that much of a market for them, and in a good hotel, you can't let them get that bad before it's time to replace them.If push comes to shove and no taker shows up, Habitat for Humanity ReStore or Goodwill Industries is a candidate - at least if you donate furniture, mattresses, etc., of marginal resale value to them, you get a tax deduction for a charitable contribution. There is also a cottage industry in different parts of the country of content liquidators - they'll offer a lowball price, if any, for any used furnishings you dispose of as part of a hotel remodeling or liquidation, haul them off for you, and re-sell them out of some used furniture warehouse, either to a cheap motel, or a piece at a time to people who need a piece of furniture for their house or apartment. On one occasion, I was approached by a local apartment owner who was looking for some used mattresses and box springs to furnish some units in a cheap apartment complex he had just acquired and was renovating. I didn't have a recent or upcoming remodeling at the property I was running at the time, but I wanted to help the guy out if I could, and I knew a hotel owner in the next town who was in the middle of a remodeling, had new mattresses and box springs on order, and would soon be getting rid of the old ones; so I put the two of them together and let them work out the deal between themselves. My old friend the hotel owner gave his entire stock of old mattresses and box springs to my new friend the apartment owner, simply in consideration for the service of hauling them off.

Are there any disadvantages of a kitchen renovation?

Disadvantages as such are mainly your kitchen will be inactive for as much as days it's done. The will be dust and soil everywhere. So basically life will be little too untidy. Even when you go factory made and fitted laying of electrical, plumbing, dado, granite laying ND other ancillary work will be involved and hence the process is little tedious. We have done few renovation kitchen in Bangalore but since we were bang on time, the client didn't face any trouble or issues as we took lot of care and a constant watch is required through our the process. So ideally it's just a hectic for max of 7 days ND hence the problem can be handles upon.In case if you are looking for it now you can mail me suresh@purpleline.co.in

What do hotels do with their old furniture?

well.... when they renovate they send the furniture to a furniture recycling plant. While there the furniture gets split apart and smashed and all that good stuff. i am sure if u wanted to buy furniture you could just ask the owner to save you some when they renovate.
