Are There Any Services To Help People That Have A Minor Criminal Record Obtain An Apartment In Fl

Apartment complex that accept past eviction in Orlando, Florida.?

hello, i have been in the same situation with a bullshit eviction on my reocord that was not fair etc... heres what i did, instead of going out and looking at apartment after apartment and being denied, why dont you go to www.craigslist.com, go to the apartment, house rental section and post up an ad seeking an apartment or house for rent with your name and number posted. in your post just indicate that you are seeking an apartment or house to rent in orlando fl. and you have an eviction on your record etc. explain it away as unfair, a mistake, whatever. i explained my needs, seeking an apartment close to the stadium for sports etc, and i had on average of 23 email hits a day with landlords begging for me too come and check out thier properties for rent. lotsa nice places too, i noticed that if you tell landlords ahead of time a lil bit about you, they prefer to rent thier houses or apts to people with no kids etc. they didnt care about the eviction, they kept emailing me about the properties and going into detail, they were more open and personal when due to the fact that in my posted ad i revealed lil bit about myslef, the eviction etc. this way, these landlords already know up front whats happnin, and your evictions not an issue from the beginning, as lots of landlords are private property owners and dont care if you got evicted, they realize that thier are idiot property managers that evict people for breathing the wrong way. so this is and will be your best bet to find a place to rent for sure as your eviction issue is out in the open, they know that before they call you.. the more you reveal about yourself in the post, the better, this gives the discriminating property owners the chance to know about you... good luck

Does an apartment landlord in Florida have right to search personal belongings?

I'm new to florida and I'm renting a low income apartment. We have inspections tommorrow. I'm expecting them to look in the kitchen , bath, and bedrooms and look at the general cleanliness of the place but do they have the right to search my dressers, draws, boxes and other personal belongings? I dont think so, do you? Its ok if they look in the closets, to me that part of the apartment structure but all furniture and dressers are personal which would require some sort of legal warrant. I'm just concerned about my right to privacy. Any thoughts from renters or landlords welcomed.

Can Rent a Center really Get me Sent to Jail in Florida?

Some info you may need:

I live in FL
the items were split between both of our accounts

So, heres the deal. My Ex- girlfriend and I rented some items fro Rent a Center. Two TV's, a gamme system and Two Laptops.

On my account was a TV, a computer and the game system.

My Ex ran off to a different state, but not before she took off with the items that were rented between both accounts. I do not know what happened to them. She may have sold them, she may have just taken them with.

Anyway, all of this happened before the first payment to the company.

Since this time, I have moved, and to be honest, I kind of forgot about it, with the move and getting everything situation I lost track of everything. I didn't have an active phone when I signed up for it, so I really had no way to be contacted.

Today, I came home to a RAC truck in my drive way. I talked to them and explained the situation, gave them my current phone number, and they left. Before they did, the claimed the following:

"I wish that you would have contacted us, Now you have a felony warrant for grand theft out for your arrest. There's nothing really we can do about it at this time, it's too late. That's how we ound your current address, the Sheriffs office gave it to us. I guess if anyone comes by your house looking for you, just tell them exactly what you told us."

I checked the Sarasota County Sheriffs office website and I can't find a record of a warrant for me. But, it is the weekend and may not update until Monday.

Has anyone been in this situation?

Any info will help, this is kinda making me nervous. I kinda think it's a scare tactic.

How will a DWI affect Renting an Apartment?

On applications for apartments, most are looking for felony convictions. Any felony conviction in the past 10 years, will keep you from getting an apartment. In Texas DWI is not a felony. At least not your first conviction of it. However if this not your first conviction for a DWI or if there were other factors such as having kids in the car or vehicular assault etc.... then it could turn into a felony real fast.

The best thing is to be honest with your manager. Let them know of the DWI. Check with your state laws to find out if DWI is a felony or not.

Is it illegal to record a conversation with someone without them knowing?

Here is what I discovered through Google since I wanted to know as well..."Federal law permits recording telephone calls and in-person conversations with the consent of at least one of the parties. See 18 U.S.C. 2511(2)(d). This is called a "one-party consent" law. Under a one-party consent law, you can record a phone call or conversation so long as you are a party to the conversation."So when you call customer service for one of your professional services where they tell you that you're going to be recorded for "quality assurance purposes," you can say "no" then by law they would not be able to record the conversation.Edit: 9/20/16“Can you record a phone call or conversation when you do not have consent from one of the parties?Regardless of whether state or federal law governs the situation, it is almost always illegal to record a phone call or private conversation to which you are not a party, do not have consent from at least one party, and could not naturally overhear. In addition, federal and many state laws do not permit you to surreptitiously place a bug or recording device on a person or telephone, in a home, office or restaurant to secretly record a conversation between two people who have not consented.”Source: http://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/...
