Are There Gaming Headsets That Can Be Used With 3.5 Mm Audio Jacks

What is the best budget gaming headset (Under $100) with a 3.5 mm jack?

Well gaming branded headsets are pretty shit in general like they don't last long.so i can only recommend headsets i know are reliableAudio-Technica ATH-PG1Logitech G433 Wired Gaming Headsetthat's about it there is many options available for under 100USD but 150–200USD is the sweet spot for premium gear that will be good and last a long time.

Can you use a 3.5mm phone headset with a PC?

Not yet on the desktops, but you can on some laptops.  They would only have one jack instead of the typical two, and it has a symbol of a headset with a mic next to it.Again though... this is a feature being seen more on laptops (and tablets).  On desktop boards, it is still a multi-jack connection cluster. That said... it wouldn't take much to wire a dual function jack onto a front panel audio header for a desktop case to connect to a standard motherboard front panel pinout.  Some company has to either already make one, or someone has modded their case for this, but I can't find any pictures.

Laptop with 1 audio jack, headset with two separate cables?

Hi, I recently bought a new laptop Lenovo Z70-80 and there's just one audio jack on the right side. But my headset has got 2 cables, one for sound and one for microphone. I already bought splitter but only sound works, not microphone.
Thanks in advance

Can both my headphones and mic be used in a single 3.5mm port using a headphone splitter?

If you’re talking about a computer, then typically no. They will have separate ports/jacks for headphones (often with a little green circle around it) and mic (often with a pink circle). If you are referring to a mobile device/phone headphone jack, then your headphones MIGHT already have a mic built into the wire and both will work plugging the single cable into the single device jack. But it won’t work to just put a standard headphone and mic into a splitter to try to use a single 3.5mm port in any other way.

Will Astro gaming headsets work with an iPod or Windows phone 7?

From their manual, they have a connector for a PC and additional cables for connecting this to a 3.5mm mini-jack. This can plug in to the iPhone or Windows Phone 7 devices. It would likely work on any android device as 3.5 mini-jacks are industry standard. You only get stereo audio and the microphone doesn't do anything as the jack is output only.

A full sized headset does use a lot more power than the smaller ones, so battery life is a lot shorter and volume might be limited. They are also more trouble to carry around than smaller ear-bud types. Hence the A30s are smaller and lighter. If you are using the devices for gaming, you might find the cables to be annoying -- you need to hold the (relatively small) devices and large heavy cables may not be convienient.

Honestly, such a headset would be complete overkill for a phone. If you use it at home on your PC maybe its fine to carry around, but I think you'll find lugging them around is a hassle. You can put a cell in your pocket. As an alternative you might wish to look at wireless Bluetooth headsets. Many include stereo, you get the microphone capabilities, built-in power is likely better for volume and battery life, you don't have any cables to deal with, and you can put the device in your pocket while listening to music.

What's the best smartphone/computer (3.5mm jack) softphone headset for noisy environments?

I have the solution for you. This option is expensive but in my opinion it's well worth the investment. Depending on how many you need we do offer quantity discounts. My recommendation is the Jabra Evolve 80. This allows you to connect to mobile phones as well as your computer via USB. Can I use a male to 2 female audio splitter for 1 headphone and one microphone?

Short answer: NoLong answer: No, unless the audio jack on your computer supports mic in and stereo out normally referred to as a “headset" jack as opposed to a “headphone” jack. You'll find these almost exclusively on laptop computers or smartphones where space for I/O jacks are at a premium.Should you have such a jack as mentioned above you can use an adapter that has two female 3.5mm jacks (normally one marked green and one pink) and gives you a single 3.5mm male jack that has an extra ring contact on it vs your headphone cable. These are sometimes sold with headsets that have integrated microphones and as such would likely be sold as replacement parts on Amazon or eBay.AVShop TRRS to 2x 3.5mm Mic/Headphone Adapter [AUD-900-6IN] : AVShop.ca - Canada's Pro Audio, Video and DJ StoreFound about 6 after a simple Google. If an exercise bike has a 3.5 mm audio jack that provides the data displayed on the fitness monitor, is there a way to replace it with something more advanced/intelligent?

This will be a serious project.  The signal sent from the mechanics of the bike to the little monitor will have to be decoded - that is, you're going to have to figure out what the data is and how it's being transmitted.  It's probably just a pulse sent as a magnet passes a sensor and the monitor translates that into speed and then extrapolates to distance and calories.  An Arduino or Raspberry Pi could then be programmed to do the same thing plus your more advanced functions.  To tie it into your phone you're probably looking at adding a Bluetooth shield and programming an app to connect to your new device and do the statistical analysis you want.  Looks like lots of programming.

Why does my headset mic not work on my computer?

So I built a computer recently but when i plug my headset/mic into any of the mic and audio jacks, it doesn't register and wont record the voice. Should I get a sound card or is it just the mic? It works fine on my laptop and anything else. The mic is a turtlebeach xp510 and the computer uses a EVGA gtx 960 gpu and gryphon z79 motherboard.
Thanks!

Can I use 3.5 mm headphones with mic (Sony MDR XB550AP) for gaming, or do I need to buy the USB ones (like Logitech)? Which one should I buy a normal one with 3.5 mm jack (the one I mentioned) or the gaming ones?

It depends on preferences. USB includes its own dac and amp inside the headset (a soundcard inside the headset) and bypasses onboard. Good if you have a laptop or no sound-card and do not want to upgrade the onboard though if your system is known to have any issues with its USB, it might not be as nice as 3.5mm. 3.5mm is better if you have a nice sound-card as you can take advantage of its features or if you have known issues with your USB causing static or hissing sounds. As per uses, 3.5mm headphones can be used in other devices, which has 3.5mm jack port. If you are keen interest on gaming purpose for desktops or laptops, then USB headsets are far better than 3.5mm headsets.Better check the reviews once in google or youtube, before going for it.
