Do you believe in stereotypes?
Are all of any given group exactly the same? Examples: Do all African Americans like rap? Do all white southerners belong to the Klan and live in trailer parks? Do all northerners act like Archie Bunker and are they neanderthal bigots? Are all Muslims terrorists? Are all Christians hypocrites? My view: We tend to associate people into groups because it is easier to try and understand them as a mass rather than as individuals. It's a mistake. But in fact, stereotypes are horrible gauges for truth. Stereotypes are perpetuated by Hollywood as well as what we are taught as children and often in local pop culture circles. We need to use our own eyes before taking someone else’s word as truth. What do you believe?
Why are the liberal and conservative stereotypes contradicting?
Because they are not trying to be descriptive, they are trying to be insulting.
Do you believe the stereotype that most feminist are usually lesbian or at least bi-curious?
I never did believe the stereotype until recently I started paying attention to this forum. Some of the questions on here were asked about if women we're attracted or turned on by women in real life or porn, because of arousal studies, and a lot of times women responded yes. However, sometimes most women disagreed, I guess they really we're straight. They said they are only attracted to or felt turned on by men. A lot of times these women we're anti-feminist. I have noticed that only a few feminist we're actually straight. So, I posted questions like this other categories, and most of the women said they we're only sexual turned on by men, with only a few answering that they we're attracted to women. For some reason, after they stated they we're attracted to women, they said they believed everyone is bi-curious. Maybe they feel guilty about their feelings and didn't want to be viewed as different, but they shouldn't. I have no idea, but some of these women stated that they thought naked men were not attractive. I mean if I thought naked women were not attracted I wouldn't be with them. If you don't like a naked guy then how or why would you have sex with them. Just because you start have an emotional attraction to a person doesn't change the way their body looks. It seems like they should just get a girlfriend, they would be happier instead of living a lie. It doesn't make sense.
Question about stereotypes portrayed in the media about races?
Okay. I have been checking out many questions regarding race, particularly blacks. One in particular intrigued my interest: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index... This question deals with racial profiling. Why blacks are unfairly stereotyped? Before i begin, I am not denying that blacks do not commit crime. In fact blacks do but so do every other racial group. However, many of the stereotypes are derived from the media. Again, I am aware blacks commit crime and some do in fact perpetuate the stereotypes. I still feel that it is unfair to judge and deem a whole race of people as unfit for the society because there are "SOME" who fit the stereotype. With this said, if we were to go by the media standards, how come whites are not stereotyped as being sociopath killers, drug distributors, killing their spouses for life insurance (according to Snapped and Investigation Discovery), cut throat to get what they want even if it means setting someone up, snorting cocaine, shooting up theaters and churches, and being conniving to get ahead in the corporate world? Now mind you, this comes from media sources. Do I judge them all? Well...should I? Whites are not being stereotyped or judged by any of the things I mentioned. No one shriek from fear when seeing them. There are stereotypes for all racial groups but there are not a vast majority of people that assign these stereotypes to a particular group. The good part is blacks could careless.

"Stereotype" n (fm a Fr printing technique) a standardized mental picture about a group that represents an oversimplified opinion, affective attitude, or uncritical judgment. A stereotype would therefor be an attitude resulting from a prejudice, so the prejudice would have to have originally come first, however a person raised raised being taught the stereotype would develop the prejudice so once the cycle was started it would be self perpetuating.
Why are Muslims often stereotyped as terrorists?
Q: Why are many terrorists identified as Muslim?Ans: Because the kind of world we are living in, demonizes the oppressed and glorifies the oppressor. Because muslims don't own CNN, BBC and FOX news.Because when USA/NATO/ISRAIL etc drop bombs on our cities, some of us survive with only one purpose to take revenge of our families. Because muslims have this concept of brotherhood which goes something like this, "The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever"_Prophet Muhammad. So, they see muslims getting killed every where, be it Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. and nobody bats an eye, they have developed a sense of collective victim hood.Furthermore, terrorism is the most manipulated word in geo-political lexion. It means use of force or intimidation in pursuit of political aims. Logically it follows any organization(islamic or secular) which kills people to further it's political interests is a terrorist organization. Thus every secular nationalistic army is a terrorist organization too and YES it includes Armed forces of imperialist powers who fought two world wars and killed millions of human beings. So either you stop using this word 'terrorist/terrorism' or don't be selective in your condemnation.You want to know about the worst terrorist attack in history? It was carried out by most civilized nation on earth. You got me, i am talking about mighty USA. When Colonel Paul Tibbets and Charles Sweeney nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki and killed 100 thousand innocent people. Even now children are born with deformities there. Or maybe you guys don't consider it as an act of terror because killing innocent human beings is less horrible if sanctioned by Nations or League of Nations. So, USA/NATO crusaders can invade our countries on false pretext of WMD's, plunder our natural resources, or for catching their boogeymen in Afghanistan/Pakistan and bomb our cities kill our children and when we retaliate, we are terrorists because they have got BBC, CNN and FOX news on their side, putting veneer over the dirty actions of their armies and plastering their agenda all over the international arena. We muslims are the biggest victims of terrorism. We are getting killed by both muslim militant groups and Western secular armies.
