Are We Being Stereotypical

Not being stereotypical, but how common is pubic hair on women in Italy?

Italian women do not have the habit to get rid of pubic hairs, but trim is a different matter.
It actually seems in Italy this is mostly a pornstars/sexy stars thing, other women doesn't seems to be prone to this fashion.
So, it's far less common, I'd say it's unusual.

EDIT: @fata, not in my experience and knowledge; I'm not implying it all came form a "direct view", also by talking about this matter with Italian women. The fact you do doesn't mean this is the norm.

Why is everyone so stereotypical?

People use labels to help define who they are. Not everyone does, as you stated. You are not the only one who refuses to define themselves by limited imaginations of sociological labels. Count yourself blessed to not do so. You see outside the box of understanding society has placed on us. Hoorah for you and continue in the path you have set for yourself. Definitions are limiting but needed for general understanding. How an orange tastes to me is diffent from how it tastes to you, but by asking me to define I am limited by words common to both our understandings.

What is stereotype!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

stereotypes are assumptions we make about an entire group based on observations of some members. We attribute observations to all members of the group whether it really applies to them or not.

Very often, they are racially or ethnically based and very often, they are incorrect.

If we say "all Asians are good at math" we have applied a stereotype of Asians. Certainly, some Asians are not good at math. Similarly, we could say "all black people are good at athletics" and we know this isn't true - all aren't, some are.

Some stereotyping is more hurtful than others. Some people might say "all fat people are lazy" when the reality is that there are many reasons someone might be overweight and not exercising is only one reason.

"People who wear glasses are bookworms/smart/nerds/etc..." is another example. Most people that wear glasses simply have poor eyesight. We sometimes say that "all jocks are stupid and take easy classes" when we know there are many athletes that are very bright students.

It's not the social, ethnic, or racial group label that is the stereotype but instead the qualities we assume that all members of that group display. A simple example is "all blondes are dumb" - blonde isn't the stereotype, that we ascribe being dumb to blondes is the stereotype.

Almost everyone has experienced some form of stereotyping either as the one doing it or the one being stereotyped.

Idiotic Native American Stereotypes?

Like someone else said, it's a genetic fact that Native Americans tend to be alcoholics. Not a stereotype. Not ALL Native Americans. That just means you are more susceptible. Certain people are more susceptible to alcohol based on their bloodline. Let's not be politically correct here.

How is the stereotype of Cyprus people?

Well, well, well...

We all have what is called "Filotimo"...
Filotimo, which encompasses friendship & hospitality and is second nature
to a Cypriot, like having a second skin. A unique trait they we born with and,
not something that can be bought or taught. A Cypriot is not a Cypriot without this.

We live life to the full and are more than willing to show others how to get the most
out of it.

Cyprus...
Resembling a leaf nonchalantly tossed into the sea, although it's turbulent history
would suggest otherwise, having had more that our fair share of unrest and violence.
Despite this, or should I say in spite of this, where other cultures might have become
withdrawn, with a feeling of being victimised, oppressed and isolated, we have responded with a true sense of "joie de vivre" that many other cultures can only
dream of.

So..."Yeah" that's your stereotypical Cypriot!!!

What are some stereotypes of softball players?

Thank you all for your responses. I asked simply because I'm doing a speech on softball as my co-culture and how we get stereotyped into being ugly, lesbians. I know indeed some softball players fit this and that's why they say every stereotype has some truth, but to label ALL is completely ridiculous. The team I play on is full of very attractive, girly, and straight girls. I know this is not true for all teams. Making my point to be, stereotypes ARE NOT SET IN STONE and all types of people can be very versatile and certain qualities may contradict each other but that's what makes us great complex people. For example when playing softball if I didn't get dirty I didn't do all I possibly could, but when it comes to going out with my BOYFRIEND or my friends I find the highest highs and cutest outfit I can. Thus concluding that stereotypes are not meant to take serious, they are for fun, and next time you see a petite, fit, cute girl she just might be a softball player.

Seems like being a traditional or stereotypical woman is novel today?

That’s satans lgbt for ya. I like traditional women. Feminists tend to hate me for it. Feminists want traditional men yet won’t be traditional women in return xD
