Insults: What is a great comeback when someone says 'You're boring'?

If you were bickering with someone and one of their statements was, ‘You’re boring’, then I would not attempt a comeback. If the two of you were just hassling with each other, leave it. It would be petty to try and put down the person just as a response to his bad manners and your bickering with one another.If the comment was made when you were sincerely suggesting something or expressing an opinion, then this is an acquaintance that you should spend as little time with as possible. It is the type of comment that is meant to be mean and hurtful and shows no maturity or humanity. If you must interact with this person on a regular basis, I would still not attempt to ‘one-up’ him. You just leave yourself open to more rudeness and bullying. If you can’t ignore such comments because it is embarrassing, then try to remain calm and not acknowledge the person. If this person is bullying you on a regular basis, then you need to help from an adult, a teacher, a parent, a principal, a minister or whoever you trust.I just do not think that a ‘comeback’ to an insult is helpful. If you insult him, then, you are just as guilty as the friend who hurt you. It might feel good for a few moments and you might get a cheer from friends, but other than make you a jerk the same as your friend, why not choose to ignore the rudeness.If you are actually concerned as to why this person feels you are boring, then ask him if he has suggestions. Not at the time of this comment, by at another time. And, ask your friends to share any insights they might have.Boring is a word that indicates someone has interests and goals that are different ones from yours. Each person’s interest will bore some and excite others. It is a part of life. We all have passion for different things and those are the things we focus our energy upon. Just because yours are different from some of your friends, really doesn’t mean much.And, again…..if someone is being rude like this frequently, hurting you, embarrassing you, intimidating you, tell an appropriate adult, please.
