How long does shin splints take to heal?

as long as you keep running, it will not get better. Rest is the best treatment, followed by ice, and footwear change. Change your shoes for more support, insoles my help with the constant compression.

Could I fit into a size 6 shoe if I'm size 5.5?

I can tell you as someone who has sold shoes at retail for over 20 years that more than 4 out of 5 women wear their shoes too small & don’t even know it or refuse to acknowledge it. The average woman that came in to our store to buy a 5.5 shoe would leave with a 6.5 or 7 after being fit properly. Bad fit: Most of us wear shoes that are too smallAdd to this the fact that women’s shoes are on average almost two sizes narrower than the average woman’s foot and you can see where I am going with this. Reference: Why Shoes Make "Normal" Gait ImpossibleAthletic shoes are built to fit with about 2/3″ to 3/4″ between your longest toe and the end of the shoes. Casual shoes should be fit almost that big.The reality is that by the numbers, not only can you likely fit in to a 6, your feet will likely be much better off in the 6 and you may actually need a 6.5. Of course, you will have to take a few days for your feet to get used to feeling like they are loose and not being squeezed by the shoe. Once you get it though, it’s hard to go back.

What treatment or shoes help plantar facitits I need help please?

Before you go to the expense of buying shoes and other things please try this simple movement which in my experience has helped almost all of these cases of plantar fasciitis. Assume a long sitting position on the floor or in a bed. Keep the knees absolutely straight. Have the muscles of the feet pull them backwards towards the shins. The only movement that is occurring is at the ankles. Hold that pull for 5 to 10 seconds and then relax for a few seconds. Repeat this until you have done this 10 times. Do this right before you get out of bed and right before you go to sleep. You may also do this a few times during the day. Once you get the hang of the movement it can also be done sitting with the knees bent and while standing. The best position for this is the long sitting position but during the day the others may help you get through the day. The one thing about this is that you are going to have to make it a habit because when you stop it will return.

Does anyone have Tarpel Tunnel?

I had a friend who had tarsal tunnel (think that's what you mean?) surgery in one foot. It helped her a lot. She was supposed to have the surgery in her other foot, but she started wearing Z-Coil shoes, and they helped so much that she has not needed the surgery.
