Arena Football I Need To Play It I Am Definately Able To Make The Team Just Need To Know Where

Is it possible for a 28 year old to play football (semi-pro or pro)?

I haven't played football since high school, and I got post season conference honors. I was recruited by a couple colleges, but never pursued (tuition being too expensive). I've been thinking of taking a chance to try playing again. Is it possible? I know I'd have to work really hard really quick, but just wondering if it's possible. I know my time is waning since clubs don't usually look for players older than mid-thirties - at least typically. I'd love to take a chance at being half back, despite playing defensive lineman in high school. I'm 6'1" and 280 lbs. I used to weigh 230 or so, but obviously gained some weight. I guess I should really say 29 year old, since my birthday is in July.

Too late to Try out for football my senior year?

I know exactly where you're coming from. I'm a sophomore in college and everytime I watch a football game, I get that same feeling of regret for never getting into it. It's just my parents never encouraged me to play football. Instead, they encouraged me to play in the band and play basketball, but if I could do it all over again, no doubt about it I would definitely play football. I'm 6'2 and pretty fast so it's no telling how good of a WR I could've been. So remember this, it's NEVER too late as long as you're in highschool. Just approach the coach and simply tell him you're interested in playing and he'll try you at different positions. It's just that simple.

If I didn't play football in high school, would I be able to try out in college?

Yes, I highly encourage you to try out, and become a walk-on, for a college football program next season. It will still not (yet) be too late for you to start playing organized football.

What you need to do this offseason is eat healthy, and exercise by doing a lot of running every day. Personally, I recommend a calorie intake of 1800-2200, as well as at least one hour of running, per day. If you do these two things, you will get faster, stronger, and into better shape, which will greatly improve your chances of making it as a walk-on for a college football team next season.

Should Alaska have a NFL Football team?

well iwas born in juneau and lived in yakutat, anchorage, and fairbanks.they have high school football teams in the upper north regins that i know of,if kids my age can handle the weather with normal under armour, shouldn't pro players be able to handle the cold too?besides if you based the team in anchorage, the weathe is not a factor as it barely snows, because of el nino.and they already have barrow whalers, and the whole town comes to support every game.why shouldn't anchorage?

Do the best Canadian Football League (CFL) players have the skill to play in the NFL?

The best do. They are usually players that have everything needed to play in the NFL but didn't make it for some reason. For example Cameron Wake (then Derek Wake) was a star at Penn until he got on Joe Pa's shit list for some reason. Went undrafted (possibly because of bad reviews from his college coaches), walked into Giants training camp with a huge chip on his shoulder, didn't make the team. Took a couple of years to get his head on straight, joined the CFL, and made enough noise for the NFL to start paying attention. But for the most part, the guys in the CFL don't have what it takes to make it in the NFL. Most of them make about $60,000 a year and have second jobs. They don't practice enough, or against good enough competition, to improve to the NFL level. They can't afford to be full time elite athletes like the NFL guys, which takes about the same amount of work and time as being an Olympic athlete. The CFL is in the same position as the XFL was. Almost all of the players who could have been in the NFL have been scouted and found lacking in some key area, usually speed. Unless the problem is in their head, they probably aren't even practice squad material. If they were, they'd be making at least $250K a year in the US instead of playing part time in Canada.

Why doesn't India have a football World Cup team?

Indians support clubs like ManU, Barcelona, etc. and talk about international football players a lot instead of supporting their own national team. Of course majority of them just want to show off in front of others by talking about these clubs and wearing their T-shirts. They know the complete life history of Messi, Ronaldo or Suarez, but don’t even bother how our national players struggled.A large portion of the Indian public is just like frog in the well and think that cricket is the only sport and even compare cricketers to God. They get offended and go mad when a Tennis superstar says I don’t know who is Sachin Tendulkar. However, so many of them don’t know the names of their national players like Bhaichung Bhutia and Sunil Chettri. Indians basically lack the passion for other sports. Parents also have to be blamed to a large extent for keeping their kids away from these sports. Irony is everyone wants their children to become doctor or engineer, but expect India to bring medals in Olympics and win world cups in Tennis, Football, etc. Media also has to be blamed for all the hype they create only for cricket. They even show episodes on Great Khali, Jinder Mahal, etc. when everyone knows that WWE is not even a sport but a crap show. But, they don’t give due recognition and limelight to footballers. If cricket is added to Olympics, it’s just a matter of time when India’s dominance in cricket will end when countries like China, Japan, Russia, Germany, USA, etc. enter cricket. On that day, we Indians will realize that we are nothing but a big zero in sports world.
