Asap Whay Just Hallened To Me

Has any miracle happened to you? How do you define a miracle? Is it something wonderful or something uncommon?

Yeah...This was roughly 5 years back.I was traveling by a local train from Lonavla to Pune. I had purchased a normal ticket but mistakenly I sat in the first class. A random person in that compartment asked me to change the berth as I could be fined.There is a platform named "Kanhe" where I decided to change the berth.We know how short the halt is in a local station. So I got down my berth, started walking towards the other berth, and before I could step in, the train caught speed. I caught hold of the rod and slipped in between the train and the platform.Only my head was peeping out of the platform and the rest of my body was somewhere hanging in a virtual world. The people at the platform were obviously terrified to pull me out, because I could get ripped apart by the sides of the train. Pulling the chain was not an option, because it was too sudden for people to realize what was going on.I could feel the sides of the train touch me.All I did was cry out loud apologizing for everything and thanking them. I knew I will not be able to make it through. And I knew it would be my last breath.But I'm alive. The train passed by me maybe virtually .I call it a MIRACLE.Update:Thank you for such an overwhelming response. This was my first answer on Quora.All the comments below are really encouraging. Who has seen an erroneous "JUST USED" message when swiping a New York MTA Metrocard?

Yes, this definitely happens; however, I find that it happens less and less often as you get used to the turnstiles. In the two years I lived in NYC, this happened maybe six times to me in my first six months (during which time I swiped 5-10 times a day) and maybe three times in the eighteen months after that. But when my father visited me, it happened twice to him in the week he was there (we switched cards a couple times - I never had a problem). You eventually get used to the turnstiles and instinctively know the right angle and speed to get through on the first time. BTW - if there is an agent booth in the station, they will buzz you through if this happens. If there isn't a booth but there's any MTA employee or transit cop around, you can explain what happened and get them to open the emergency door for you. You can also often get passengers leaving the station to open the emergency door for you - the alarm will sound but no one will care. Also, if you're in Manhattan you can often just walk a block or two to the next station.Or, as Carolyn Cho says, jump the turnstile. If there isn't an MTA employee or transit cop around to buzz you through, there's also no one around to arrest you ;)
