Asymmetrical Collarbones

Why are collarbones attractive?

Most humans are attracted to symmetry; a symmetrical face, cheeks, eyes, nose, ears, and collarbone? But really, most indicators of a symmetrically facial structure, as well as collarbone can indicate signs of “health” potentially. It doesn’t show signs of wear and tear, no significant injuries, problems associated with disease, potential stroke etc. When it comes to finding a mate of the opposite sex, subtle symmetrical features seem to come a long way. This is not to say she isn’t a beautiful individual, but attractiveness is ambiguous, and there is no clear definition of what we are attracted to.Minus her wig, I find Katy Perry to be a very attractive person despite her asymmetry facial feature. Most people looking at her face seem to not even notice her asymmetrical feature.Facial Symmetry is Attractive, But Not Because It Indicates Health - D-brief

Why is the clavicle called the collarbone?

Because the two clavicles form half of the pectoral girdle of bones that encircle the upper chest much like a collar.

Uneven collar bones?

Yes, it can be totally normal. None of us are totally symmetrical. One foot is slightly larger than the other, so is one hand, etc.

One other thing that might make one side of your collarbone more noticeable than the other is if you have a back curvature (scoliosis). This is common in many people and, in most cases, requires no treatment.

If you are worried about your collarbone, please see your doctor.

Is the collarbone always symmetrical ?

No body is symmetrical. We think it is, but there are subtle differences pretty much everywhere.

If you are handy with a graphics program, you can prove this by taking a photo of your face, cutting it in half and flipping the image so that it makes a whole face again. It won't look much like you.

We see this in surgery all the time.

People just don't grow symmetrically. Plus, you use one arm more than the other, and they develop asymmetrically.

You're fine, don't worry about it.

Why does one of my collar bones protrude more than the other?

If your collar bone or clavicle is protruding more than the other one, the problem is not in the collar bone probably,The triangular bone(scapula) behind your shoulder might be the culprit, this is usually called scapular dyskinesia when your scapula is not in place it disturbs the joints around it like the shoulder and the joints your collar bone makes with the shoulder and the sternum and looks as if its protruded. That is totally normal and can be correcred quite easily you might want to get an appointment with a physical therapist and get it corrected.

I hate my collar bones? Is there a way to get rid of them?

LOL No, you cant get rid of them. Your collar bone (called scapula) are what your shoulders are attached to. The major muscles of your back are also attached to this bone. If you didnt have that bone you would not be able to stand upright, much less walk. You'd be a lump on a wheelchair.

Your only options would be to gain weight or accept them. From my perspective, they dont make you look sickly. With that bone structure, I'd think you were a model.

One of my collar bone is down, what can I do?

I am not sure what you mean by “down”. Is one a bit lower than the other? If so, this is usually nothing to worry about as no one is symmetrical. If you have any tingling like your hand is falling asleep on the same side as the collar bone that is ‘down’, then there is reason for concern especially if the lower part is near your shoulder.Under your collar bone and in your arm pit area is a space for nerves and blood vessels to travel through on their way down to your hand. If the ‘down’ position of your collar bone decreases this space then the nerves and/or blood vessels could become pinched causing tingling, a feeling of coldness in your fingers and pain. It is the same scenario as a truck trying to drive through a tunnel only the truck gets squished because the tunnel is too small for the truck.I hope you don’t have any of these problems and you’ve noticed a difference and became concerned because of the way it looks and not because you are in pain. Sometimes the human body is asymmetrical because of an injury that happened so long ago we were too young to remember. If you have symptoms, you should go to an Orthooedic doctor. You will need x-rays to be sure no structures are getting squeezed and it simply is a cosmetic problem. I certainly hope so. If it is cosmetic then you can make up a story such as you hurt your shoulder while skiing away from a small avalanche in the Alps when you fell and hurt your shoulder!

Help! One of my collarbones is bigger than the other!?

I am a 16 year old boy trying to get a 6pack, chest muscles, etc. But I have been lifting more with my right arm than my left, and my right collarbone is way bigger than my left! Any suggestions on how to make them equal?

Collar Bone Piercings?

This might seem dumb, but can u get three collarbone piercings? I mean, I only see people with two under their collarbone and this has been puzzling me for a while. Also, how exactly does clavicle piercing work? How do u get them done? can they fall out? and how do u take them out?
