At Vacation And Thinking Of Work What Should I Do

How do I avoid thinking of work during vacations and vacations during work?

I have noticed that my brain continues to dwell on work for a span of 3-4 weeks after I stop working completely --- that's how long it takes for it to 'get out of the regular wake-work-sleep' cycle that's everyday. Its possible to really enjoy a vacation only after that cycle is broken. This is, of course, unrealistic unless you quit for a while --- or ---- take a sabbatical. Short vacations are pretty much useless for me apart from pursuit of photography.

How often should working people take vacations? Thank you!

Depends on how many weeks off one has accrued? Also too the particular employers may offer an array of personal days. Then if per se you have 3 weeks of paid time off then one would take 3 vacations in a year lasting the 7 days.

How to ask for vacation time on work?

He shouldnt worry about having to ask for time off...its his wedding for goodness sake. Here is what I would say in a letter:
To whom it may concern,
I am getting married in July so I am writing to request the following days off : ......(insert dates).
Thanks,
(his name)

It should be that simple...I would think they just need a little something saying what he needs time off for and what days....

I met a girl on vacation and I can't stop thinking about her! Help please?

I met this girl on vacation in nearly 2 months ago. We spent a week together all the time.
We both really feel for each other, but we also both know itll never work, we live 1500miles away, and other reasons :-(
We still text and talk all the time and I just cant stop thinking about her
I can't just cut her off because that'll hurt her

Can anyone give me some ideas on how to get over this? Because im at a complete loss

Thanks

What do you think about working for walmart?

Yes as we all no; Walmart is a huge piece of our economy and yes, they are still growing as a powerfull company. Ever since Sam Walton died and there kids taken over it walmart has been having problems Do you think its worth all that hardlabor for a lousy too weeks pay when they are screwing people with pay, like mistreating employees, lawsuits, bad investments, management stealing from there own stores. and etc. I used to work for the walmart in Bhm and i was one of the smart ones that left before things went out of hand. Now walmart is working people to death, people are getting calls on vacations to come in work, when a death in a family, walmart wants you to come in to work ater the funneral and so much more. Working for walmart is ok when your in school but making a carrier out of it that is not possible because walmart is still hiring people out of the streets and still denying people who have degrees. What i think Empires rises and Empires Fall nothing last forever. there will be a time and its coming near when walmart will shutt down and the only thing to rely on is sams wholesale which the last time i checked publix and cosco is taking out the business. From my own experience, i would not recommend working for walmart its a waist of time.

Why students should work during their vacation?

From my own experience1 It gave me the opportunity to see what life was like in a 9-5 routine admin job (filing) that might have been my only option because employment opportunities were very limited, if I did not get my degree.2 It gave me money that I could buy my own things with rather than relying on my parents and because I was paying for them, they meant more to me and I took better care of them.3 It gave me something to put on my cv and something to talk about when being interviewed for jobs.  I therefore could stand out from the 250 other people who had applied for the position.4 I learnt life skills about being on time, team work, delivering to deadlines, being polite and respectful to people I was working with.5 It helped finance me through university.I missed out on summer trips with friends, but have made up for that now. The experience and money helped me to get my first real job and first big step on a career ladder.  Had I not had this experience I don't believe I would have got the job, and all the amazing opportunities since then.
