At what age do students usually finish college..?

Generally, students finish high school at age 18. Four years of college would be 22. BUT, it really isn't that easy.

Some people repeat kindergarten or enter school year later, for example, so they graduate at 19. Some people take a year off before college and then do four years. They would finish at 23.

Not everyone finishes college in 4 years. Some programs take 5 years. Sometimes a student changes majors and so takes 5 or even 6 years to get all the required courses for the changed major. Sometimes a student goes straight into a masters program and might take 6 years. They would not graduate until 24 or 25. There are many who don't go straight to college but work a few years first.

Bottom line is that there is no standard age to finish college because there is no standard number of years to finish. . In any of your college classes, there are most likely students still in late teens, in 20s, 30s, maybe some in 40s and older. It's no big deal in college to be different ages. I'm sure you are fine

What age did you finish college? :(?

You're going to be 28 some day whether you go to college or not. You might as well have a degree when you get there. Look, if it makes you feel any better, I'm in grad school right now and I'm 47. I'm not the oldest one in my program, but I'm up there. I know of a woman who got her PhD when she was in her 60s and a guy who got his masters at age 58. Good luck in your studies!

I'm 32 years old. Should I finish college?

For the field you are looking at (computer science) you'll have more options with a degree so yes, if you can without too much debt, do it! In the meantime try to get as much experience as you can in your field.I know someone who did this. She went to school a little at a time. She graduated at 35. She got an internship in her last semester but she'd already been working in the field in a low paying entry level position that allowed her to learn. By the time she graduated, her job hired her full time at double the salary she had been paid. Then she climbed steadily. Today at 40 she is a scientist. She is managing the lab and her own projects. She is also a supervisor. She is doing what she absolutely loves to do. No one asks her when she graduated, they just want to know that she has a degree. There was someone here who said you could get 27 credits a year if you take 3 classes per semester. If you can do that, or even get 21 credits a year so you have some flexibility, you will be done by 36. Just watch your debt load - community college is a smart choice. If you can get a job in your field now it would help. Maybe in QA or something related … be careful about tech support - it's easy to get in but easy to get stuck there - QA is usually the better option of the two but there are other options as well. If nothing else start going to tech meetups and contributing to open source projects using what you are learning in school.Once you have your degree more will be open to you and you'll probably have your pick of jobs because you'll have a little experience, plus tons of life experience. In fact some employers will like that you are older and went back to school because they won't have to babysit you as much while you learn professional etiquette and work ethic etc.Keep in mind a computer science degree can give you an edge with plenty of other well paying jobs in the tech field too aside from programmer/developer/DBA, such as becoming a product owner, solutions architect, working in engineering operations, doing CM, becoming an analyst, becoming a tech writer, or even management roles such as project manager or scrum master. All the best!

What age did you leave college?

I'm 21 and I'll be leaving next month. In the media, "college-age people" are usually considered between the ages of 18-24. If you see any data on how many people hold college degrees, instead of starting with 18 they'll usually start with age 25 because if they measured before that age it would be unfair. For the most part ages 22-23 is the average age to get done with college.

Is age 20 too old to start college?

I could not go to college immediately after high school due to financial reasons, and similar concerns are going to force me to opt out of yet another semester before I can resume my education. Even though I'm not generally the biggest fan of school, I'm aching to go back to it & I know that if I don't return that I'll regret that decision for the rest of my life.

So as of now the new plan is to head back to school next fall, after a two year absence from school altogether since my HS graduation. The thing that is really bothersome to me, though, is the whole age factor & the fact that I'll be 20 years old before I even step foot in a college class. Given that I'll be 20 when I start, I won't graduate with my BA until I'm 25 (after 2.5-3 years at my CC and another 2 years at the uni). Granted, I was always the one of the younger kids throughout my K-12 education, but this new notion that I'll be exceedingly older than everybody else in college truly unsettles me.

Is age 20 too old to start college?
Will I be a failure if I don't graduate until I'm 25?
Is 25 too old to FINISH college?

I’m 51 years old and never finished college. Should I go back?

Age is no bar for studies, even if you want to go back to college or university. Thousands of students who are age 50 and older go back to college. They get degrees to change careers, or to explore long-held passions. Going back to college usually carries financial risk. There is no guarantee that a degree will increase earning power enough to justify the expense. If you consider such a move, be sure to:Have enough savings to pay for the college degree.Work for many years after earning your degree.Love the subject you want to study.Have your family support.Alternately, you can explore evening programs for earning a degree.Amy Craton says that is never too late to finish what you have started, even if it takes more than five decades to do it. The 94-year-old great-grandmother celebrated receiving her college degree, which she earned with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. In a wheelchair and hard of hearing, Craton said: I am trying to live my life to the fullest. To mark the achievement a half-century in the making, Southern New Hampshire University president Paul LeBlanc flew from the Manchester school to Honolulu, where Craton lives, to personally award her degree at a surprise graduation party.

If I start college at 18, how old would I be by the time I finished nursing school and the program to become a certified nurse-midwife?

If you go straight through your Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, finishing at age 22, then immediately enter a Nurse Midwifery master's degree program, you could finish by age 24. However, most Nurse Midwifery programs in the USA require 1-2 years of hospital work experience in Labor and Delivery before entry. If you choose a Doctor of Nursing Practice midwifery program instead of a master's, it would take at least three years to finish after the bachelor's and work experience. If you choose instead to go through a midwifery program in Ireland or England, where you do not first have to be a Registered Nurse with a BSN, you could finish and be allowed to start delivering babies at age 22 in those countries with a bachelor's degree in just midwifery, not nursing.

At what age do people usually finish high school?

In Canada, the usual age range to graduate is from 17–19 years old. Due to taking a thirteenth year or having a birthday later in the year, people could be a year younger or a year older than 18. My own sister graduated at 17 and I will graduate at age 18 (Gods, that’s weird to think about).Generally speaking, most people will graduate in grade 12 or grade 13. Many of them will go on to go apprenticeships, college, university, or start their own businesses. Thanks for the A2A!

At what age do people start going to college?

For various reasons, the number has crept up slightly in the US (mostly, it’s that K-12 school systems are now strict about enrolling students in kindergarten based on birthdates). As a result, most new college students in the US are 18 or 19, depending on their birthdays. Some schools enroll students at significantly younger ages, but those are uncommon. Simon’s Rock at Bard, for example, will take students without a high school diploma, but they only accept very bright kids who also demonstrate high levels of maturity, since most college/university students in the US are residential. The few true prodigies typically earn their GED at a young age and then enroll in community college, often as young as 10 or 12, but then they finish as associate’s degree in two years, but aren’t ready to live on their own. I’ve met college students in their 50’s; typically, these are people who started school at a younger age and left, but some start very, very late.
