Can any employer fire a person who gets arrested as part of a peaceful political protest? What if the protester misses a day of work because of this? What if NO work was missed, but your employer openly admits he’s firing you because of that arrest?

Generally speaking, most private sector employees in the US are employed at-will, meaning that they can be terminated for any legally permitted reason, or for no reason at all. Political beliefs are generally not legally protected in the same way as things like race, religion, gender, etc., so peaceful protest or not, if you have an unexcused absence because you were in the slammer (or any other unprotected reason), your employer can likely fire you without any legal repercussions, since legally, your employer could also fire you for no reason whatsoever. In contrast, employees who are not at-will can only be terminated consistent with the terms of their employment, which may require more in the way of due process. And as to the second scenario, that's going to depend on many variables. In some at-will states, an arrest can be the basis for a termination, no matter how noble or unjustified you consider it to be. In other states that allow for at-will employment, an employer is still not allowed to take action based on the fact of an arrest, although the conduct associated with the arrest can be used to fire an employee. And finally, employees who are not at-will can only be terminated consist with the terms of their employment. So the bottom line is that the outcome here will depend on how and where you are employed.

How early can you clock out and it not count as a tardy at Walmart?

Anything 10 minutes or more late arriving, or 10 minutes or more leaving early will cost you points. If it’s between 10 minutes and 2 hours, it costs you a half point. More than 2 hours and it’s a full point. However if someone consistently pushes the envelope and either keeps arriving just under 10 minutes late, or leaves just under 10 minutes early, you will most likely end up being called to the office by management and possibly being coached.

Help with my P.S.H.E coursework?????? FOR TEEN DRAMA LOVERS (THE O.C., ONE TREE HILL, DAWSON'S CREEK...)?

O.k, so my freakish P.S.E teacher has assigned us this video project to do with 'the evil's of alcohol' and our group has to focus on possible consequences. So, we figured we'd use teen drama's to show the 'evils of alcohol'. Problem is, we can only think of, like, four episodes because we are all pretty much always at cheer rehersals for pre-regionals!!!!!

Here comes the question 'CAN ANYBODY TELL ME EPISODES OF THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS WHERE CHARECTER'S ARE DRUNK.

hErE cOmEs tHe LiST: One tree hill, dawson's creek, The o.c, Degrassi, and any other's that fit into this category.

ThAnKS iN aDvAnCe........ :-) P.S, ((!! It would be sorta useful if you could also include the consequences of said drinking, but if you don't know of the top of ur head don't bother!!))
