Beauty Advice For An Event

In a womanless beauty pageant, what are the events in the pageant?

Every womanless beauty pageant will have its own rules.

If this is part of a high school function they will minimize the events to save on time. For instance, a typical high school pageant will consist of an introduction of the contestants, and then they'll field some questions as part of an short interview. All the while some teachers are acting as judges and immediately they declare the winner.

In more elaborate pageants the contestants will have some sort of a talent show.

Sometimes they just have everyone dance at the same time.

Then when they announce the winners, the judges may try to spread out the awards:

It just varies based upon how much time they have. But for the most part, they don't have much talent, and they really can't dance that well. It's just a spoof on the whole pageant theme.

Fear Farm flirting advice?

It really depends on where you're located which Yahoo answers is hardly ever clear about.
There is one in Phoenix, AZ:
http://www.fearfarm.com/

And there is one in Clayton, NC:
http://www.claytonfearfarm.com/CFF_home....

Both of those sites will give you much more information on both events.
As far as for the flirting goes, just be yourself. Also he'll probably be more impressed if you act like you're not scared. ;)
Good luck with that though, especially at a haunted house event.

Hope this helps!

Interview as Beauty Advisor at Macy's... Any advice?

I have been through both parts of the interview process--as the interviewee and as the interviewer. I was the regional director for a custom-color cosmetics company back in the 90s.
Wear black if possible, You'll want to look stylishly elegant, with your hair, makeup, and nails done. Be positive, outgoing, and enthusiastic throughout the interview. Be ready for questions such as:
"Tell me about yourself." They're looking for answers such as you love to read, you speak French, you build computers in your spare time, and that cake decorating is one of your hobbies.
"Are you a self-motivator?" "How would you describe yourself?" "What is your greatest weakness?"
"How would you deal with an unhappy customer?" and "Why should I hire you?" The interviewer may also ask what you would expect to be doing when there are no customers at your counter. The interviewer may also ask if you have any questions for her. One of them should be about training. It will come up in the interview which line the position is for, and so you would ask when you would be trained by the company.
At this interview you are really selling yourself, much like you will be selling products in the future. You need to come across as confident and friendly, and as someone who would make a good addition to their department. Cosmetic departments are notorious for their drama, so mature individuals are appreciated.
At the end of the interview, ask for the job. Tell the interviewer that you'd like to be a part of the Macy's team. Review your qualifications with her--that you know how to apply makeup beautifully, you have strong selling skills, you're a "team player", you're reliable, and you think you're a perfect fit for this job.
Congratulations on your opportunity! I think you'll do great. All the best to you.

Advice on high school womanless beauty pageant?

My son will be competing in his high school's womanless beauty pageant. This has become a main event each year, and is treated very seriously. The goal is for all the boys to appear as authentic girls as possible. Each boy is dressed and made-up by one or more girls, mother, sister, etc. They all wear a bra to give them the proper upper female shape, high heel pumps, realistic wig and makeup, and a good fitting evening gown. I'm looking forward to helping my son, but I don't know how far to go. Should I buy him pretty panties and possibly a slip to wear under his gown?

TEENS: What are your opinions of Beauty Pageants (Miss America/ Miss Teen USA)?

I sat through the painfully long Miss America Pageant last night not just for the swimsuit competetion but to see the overall event in general so I am able to give an opinion on it. Personally, I hate it and its a completely irrelevant competeion that objectifies women. Defenders of them say that its not all about looks and that contestants have to be active volunteers and acadmically sound. But lets be honest, who watches this competetion to learn that Miss Conneticut feeds homeless people while she walks half-naked in a bikini. And dont get me started on those "final questions" (google miss utah's answer if you havent seen it, its hilarious.) Anyway, what do you think of the competetion? Does it objectify women? Do you support? Do you even care?

BQ: If you could create your own replacement "pageant", what would it be?

Public Speaking: I'm going to be hosting a beauty pageant, what are some tips and tricks that will help me?

1) One sure way to grab your audience's attention is to have an enthusiastic start. When you are excited, the people in the room tend to get excited too. This helps increase the energy in the room. 2) You can start by posing a question or quoting some famous lines. This will get the audience to think and they while be with you for a little longer.3) Good humor is your best friend. Needless to say, the more you can get the audience to laugh, the more enjoyable the show will be.4) Dress well, more importantly dress comfortably. You will be the center of audience's attention for quite a while, so dress your best. Knowing that you look good will certainly give you a confidence boost. That said, it's more important that you are comfortable in what you're wearing. Fixing your dress or balancing yourself and those long pointed heels are things which you should not be worried about on stage. 5) Rehearse well in advance. If you already have a script, then read it aloud. Practice it as many times as you think is necessary, there is no magic number here. Have a family member or friend listen to you and give you feedback. If there is no script available, then think of the flow of the event, the situations that might arise and come up with some generic lines which you might use. 6) Lastly, just have fun! Enjoy the whole show. Even if you do happen to fumble or make some minor mistakes during the show, don't worry, no one will remember.Hope it helps, all the best! :)
