Do you buy presents for a farewell party?
Definitely give him something! If you are both very close, choose something that is symbolic of your friendship. Perhaps something that reminds you both of some of the stuff you did together. Perhaps something corney like framed tickets to a game you both went to, or a DVD of your favourite movie, or a signed copy of a book, or even something really simple like a photo of you both having a water fight or something! Make sure you keep in touch with him though. People change alot between now and 18! Make sure he knows you are always there and give him all your contact details - take all his down too!

Thanks for the A2A Avinash VarmaI haven't gotten any farewell as such from my colleagues because I haven't left anywhere... still in my first job ;)But one lovely surprise was a party thrown by my friends when I was in 8th standard. I was getting shifted to another city and had to leave school. It was awesome :DMy best friend then called me to her house on the behest of her parents wanting to meet me before I left. I went in, her parents invited me in and when I was just about to sit on the couch, 10 other of my group sprang up in a surprise! It was a truly special experience.There was a pretty cake - Pista flavored with dry fruits as topping. Blue has been my favorite color for a long time. They gifted me an elegant study lamp that was blue in color wrapped in baby blue gift wrap! :DWe had loads of fun playing around with the cake, tons of chocolates and many photographs. We went to the terrace of the house, played lock&key, confusion (Different versions of running and chasing! :P) We re winded all our memories together. Had the best of times.By the time it was over, I was overwhelmed with all the love. It was and still is one of the best memories till date.Thank you Avinash Varma for giving me a chance to revisit those memories!
What would be the best way to bid farewell to a close friend?
First of all there is no perfect way to bid farewell becoz there shudnt be a farewell between close frnds kinda inspired from the line kabhi alvida na kehna. So instead of farewell throw him a surprise party which the person will have as last memory.Throw a small surprise party just before the person leaves . . of course u have to make sure the person has packed before that. at the end of it u can leave him to the train station or airport. The person will definitely remember this for a long time, I am the testament to that.
I ruined my best friend's surprise party and I feel like crap. What do I do? :(?
So I got an invitation for my best friend's farwell/birthday party and I misread the card not knowing it was a surprise party. So later on that night I called up my best friend letting him know that I got his invitation and thanking him. He was confused and said "Whattt????" I was reminding him like "You know...for your farwell party thingy..." trying to remind him, but he was still confused and that's when I realized it was a surprise party. I reread the card and I felt like crap. He told his family about me telling him about the party if it was true but they said no. But now his whole family is mad at me, and they have a reason to be, and his brother just hates me to death. My sisters told me I should have known better but I guess it's too late :( I already apologized but I still feel like crap...I don't know what to do now :'(
Should I go to my friends farewell party?
She kind of just up & left me, basically ditching our close friendship, by ONLY hanging out with this girl in her neighborhood because she's closer (I'm only 5 minute away) She never hung out or texted me & this 1 time she ditched me & said she was "busy" when we were supposed to hang out & instead she hung out w/ the girl in her neighborhood & posted pics on FB which really hurt me.. So we haven't talked in a long time but she occasionally says hi to me in the hall Although I miss our friendship I'm still hurt that she gave up our friendship.. The neighborhood girl she ditched me for (I became friend with her) invited me to the party (she doesn't know we drifted apart..) Should I go to her farewell party? She's moving away.

its best if you give it,on the day you will leave or the day before you leave..cause if you give it 3 weeks before u leave,the moment of "missing you" is not that say "on a high level"..:)
What can be a good farewell gift for your female best friend whom you won't be seeing for the next two years?
Make a short presentation, paper collage or a movie of all your pictures (select the best ones ofcourse :) ) write about the memory associated with each picture and share how you feel about her, that you will miss her, how lovely it was to be around her, etc. A soft copy of the collage would be easy for her to carry in her laptop and she can access it whenever she wants, if you make her a paper collage don't make it too heavy that would be difficult for her to carry.or you could just give her one of those lockets that come in pairs so you keep one of them and the other one she can take along. Something small and light that she can wear around her neck all the time.Just spend some good time with her before she leaves make her last days the most memorable, she would remember the last moments spent with you for the time you stay apart.
What are some good farewell video ideas?
We have an amazing exchange student from Chile at school and she's leaving in 22 days =( We want to make a flash drive full of photos, videos and music from her stay here, and we were thinking of making some sort of farewell video to either put on the flashdrive or put on Youtube for her. I want to make it really special, something that will make her remember us forever. What's something amazing and mind blowing we could do for the video?
