Some concepts in singing which I don't quite understand..help?

Your singing voice should really be different to your talking voice, unless you are only going to sing comedy songs, for which pitched speech works fine.
However, to make your singing voice stronger than your speaking voice, you have to get both the breath into your larynx and the sound out of it right. It doesn't come naturally to most people, but all serious singers get the breath pressure by drawing their diaphragm (the sheet of muscle between the lungs and stomach) upwards into their chest to drive the air out of the lungs from underneath. you'll probably have to practice quite hard at first, but it does come, and you will have so much more power and control once you have got it. Then, the other thing is to make sure that the sound can get out of your mouth. Depending on what accent you have grown up with, you may be used to talking with the back of your tongue partly blocking your throat, or through barely parted teeth. That blocks the sound of your singing. Open your mouth wide, and keep your tongue low and forward in your mouth, when not actually forming a consonant with it. your voice may sound a bit whinier than you are used to, but you will suddenly have power.
Singing little exercises up to the pitch where you start to strain until they come easier, and then doing them up a note, and again until the next note never gets easier will increase your high range over a few months without much chance of damage.

What is the best piece of home gym equipment most people would benefit from, considering cost, versatility, realistic storage, and results?

I think I can weigh in with a bit of perspective, being a former personal trainer & an executive at one of the largest national health club chains. The absolute best bang for your buck, ESPECIALLY for a beginner, would be...your own body! The sheer variety of challenging exercises you can perform with your own body weight are limited only by one's creativity.  I'm not necessarily an advocate of the generic, non-personalized workout DVD's like "p90x" or "Insanity", but, they do allow users to generally see significant results (so long as the participant's nutrition is in order) & they demonstrate how effective body weight exercises can be. Additionally, many forms of effective cardio require no equipment at all (ie - jogging, sprinting, hiking, swimming, etc). Google "bodyweight workout routine" (& possibly add "for men" or "for women" in the search for more specific results). Combine that with some weekly outdoor cardio & you'll be off to a great start. If you feel you need additional resistance at some point, you could look into kettle bells (like a previous poster mentioned), or, perhaps adjustable dumbbells which allow you to simply turn a dial to adjust the weight (don't get the Bowflex SelectTech ones, there are cheaper brands available). Also, maybe a pullup bar...you can perform many exercise variations beyond simple pullups/chinups, such as abdominal work like hanging leg raises. If you really have your heart set on purchasing a piece of home gym equipment for resistance exercise purposes (& don't mind spending a chunk of change), then the Bowflex Revolution is a decent option (not the same as the original, old Bowflex with the cheap resistance bars). Good luck with your workout goals!

How hard is it to learn to play the guitar?

Hi,I’m a singer, who never thought about learning an instrument, but that had an acoustic guitar always around, which I did not play often because I thought I had to learn first how to play.Being a singer who writes lyrics on bands, I also love to create songs, but again without knowing how to play an instrument it is quite difficult.Anyway, I learned from friends and internet how to make open chords and lately how to do barre chords, some of these chords I can tell what they are, some other I have no idea.. I just move around my barre chords up and down, left and right.I never had a lesson, the far I went, was to pick some tab chords from other bands and tried to play it, like 2 or 3 times.Because of my interest on songwriting, I decided to play on the guitar, no matter how bad it could be, so after some months of playing on the guitar (not every day and not too longer), I was able to compose 5 songs and even made up a cover mixing Smells Like Teen Spirit with Knockin’ on Heavens Door - and I did perform those songs on a stage, live. You can see that live performance here - SigDórSo basically, learning guitar will be as hard as the level you are looking for, but I can assure you that once your fingers will be able to do power/barre chords (it will be very disappointing at the beginning, so practice a lot), you can have lot of fun. In my case, I avoid doing things I do not feel secure to do, like guitar solos…Have fun!Sérgio

How to get a deeper singing voice?

I'm a girl, with a decently deep voice already. It just gets so squeaky and stupid sometimes. I want to learn to scream, and sing like Renee Phoenix (look up the song "Crash" by Fit for Rivals, you'll see what I mean.) If possible, I wanna be as deep as Andy Biersack, as if it were possible, but I HATE these girls that sound like ******* chipmunks when they sing! I wanna sound like a guy. I'm 13, I play bass, I want to start a band someday, it's been my dream since I was 4, and I didn't even realize they got PAID to do that 'till I was 9. I had almost given up on that dream until I realized, these are my prime years, and I need to start doing something awesome with my life or I'll never do it later. I could always get a guy to sing, but I don't just wanna be the band with a chick on bass. I wanna be the band with a bad *** deep voiced lead vocalist AND bassist, that'l kick every other bands ***. I know it's a long shot, I got other plans if this doesn't happen, but it could. I have a big list and goals and everything, it's fool proof... that is, if my band is good enough. I'd show you a video of me singing, but I don't really record myself much. Anyway, if you guys could help me out, I would really appreciate it, thank you!

How did bodybuilding change your life?

I took up Body Building on 26Jan 2015. Prior to this I used to do some pull ups and push ups ( few days a month ) at home but not real stuff and my diet was terrible.I used to weigh 63kg on good days and 60kg on unfortunate days, my height is 5ft9in.Some people gave me a nick name ‘ Lukkha Shetty ‘ ( Weak Shetty ) yet I was not much affected but in 2015 I developed determination and started out on a journey.Initially, I joined my friend at his home. My friend convinced me, that he has done good amount of gymming and has seen quite a lot of youtube videos and he also has set of Dumbells and a Multi purpose bench, but he is not able to push himself to workout daily and needs a partner.Plan was to workout for a couple of months with him and then join a proper Gym. I highly appreciate his guidance through that time as he taught me everything he knew. I worked out with him for 4months, and to the disbelief of many, managed to transform myself quite well by putting on 6Kgs and that was mainly muscle mass. After this, I joined a regular gym and have been working out quite consistently.I have never even smelled any suppliment leave alone consume it and my diet is all natural and I try to keep it as clean as possible.Unfortunately, I have never managed to meet my protein requirement as Body Building is part time and I have a full time job which takes up most my time and also the current diet itself is quite expensive. Finally, I won’t say I have an amazing body but I am quite happy with it and people call me ‘ Builder ‘ lol. Conclusion: Body Building has given me a definite boost in confidence, I was once an anxious and nervous man in public places. Today I can stand more confidently.I have learnt ‘ sooooo ‘ much about food and nutrition and I am still learning.BB has tested my will power and commitment level and has helped me increase it. Now, I am not only physically stronger but mentally too.Below are some Images of my transformation:Before:Around Oct 2014 - Jan 2015After: ( In same clothes as above )In Feb 2016In May 2015Today:Thanks for reading :)
