Biggie Smalls Is The G.o.a.t

Biggie and Tupac legends?

I respect biggie and tupac but do you think they are massive legends because they were the greatest of all time or because they died early in the middle of there careers when they were so hyped up.
They died real young so we never got to see them later in ther career would they end up like jay

what yall think

Is there any 2pac or biggie haters?

When both were still alive and beefing, lots of people (not including me) took sides.
You loved 2pac and hated biggie or loved biggie and hated 2pac.
What happend to all these people? Did they stop hating once they died?
if justin bieber were to die, I would still hate him.
I love both artists, but do you?

Why is Biggie Smalls so overrated?

I think his voice fit his style of rap perfectly. You don't need a soothing musical voice for what biggie was doing. He was the "kill you if you **** with him" kind of guy, and that's exactly what he sounded like, and it worked perfectly

Also, not only did he have good lyrics, but he had amazing flow as well.

LOL @2pac being the GOAT. He was good, but really? I always thought he was overrated cause of people like you. Don't get me wrong, he was influencial and great at rapping, but he's definetely not the best

What makes Biggie and Tupac so great?

A lot of Biggie's success had to do with his production. Ready to Die and Life After Death had some of the best beats ever made and they worked perfectly for him because they allowed for crossover appeal. They were head-nodders that you could vibe to so they were sure to go over well with the mainstream crowd and get on radio stations, but when you combined them with the grit in his voice, lyrics, and flow they became songs that could also be played by the hood n*ggas. So he was popular with everyone because of his beats, and for most of the rappers you listed up there, poor production has been their downfall. Biggie was also one of the best at consistently incorporating themes into his raps, both with storytelling tracks and with full blown themes like Ten Crack Commandments and Suicidal Thoughts. He's not the best lyricist, and he didn't put out enough music to warrant GOAT status but you put the factors of being popular, having crossover appeal, being unique, being great at a certain aspect of MCing, and having great beats together, and it's understandable why people say he's the best.

2Pac is a different story. He actually put out a very impressive catalog before his death. You look at rappers like Eminem or Nas and you can see spots in their discography where you're like... you know, he's good, but this album sucks. Then you look at people like Brotha Lynch Hung and you think... you know, he's good, but a lot of his stuff sounds the same. Pac doesn't fall under either category. He put out 5 albums in 6 years (6 albums if you count his group album) and they're all good and all very different from one another. That's the biggest argument for him being GOAT. He could rhyme about anything and still make a great track. And unlike Biggie, Pac's production wasn't always solid either. He often had to carry the tracks he was rhyming on and he still managed to pull it off well. I think that he has a better argument for GOAT status than Big, and IMO he's the third best of all time behind Rakim and Kool G. Rap.

Is Biggie Overrated Because Of His Death?

Everybody loves to love Biggie, but the reality is that he released 1 classic album and one pretty good album with tons of filler in it. Kendrick Lamar has done both of those. The only thing I can come up with is that people hold him higher because of his death. I think about it this way-if Eminem gets shot in a club after recording The Eminem Show, he's released 2 classic albums and a very good one. He'd be more deserving of GOAT talk than Biggie. But Eminem is never respected with Biggie for some odd reason.

If Eazy-E, Tupac, or Biggie had stayed alive would they still be as relevant/respected today?

Nope.First of all if Tupac or B.I.G. were still alive they wouldn’t be considered as GOATs because the game would still be the same.I see it as Tupac contributed in ruining rap (KEEP READING) by prioritising feel over lyricism. Tupac was wack lyrically, but his feel and flow kept him empowered. Tupac knew how to evolve to keep flourishing and pollinating, but he didn’t really like rapping and was planning to become an actor.B.I.G. only made party songs for the most part, however I did actually like his Life After Death album a lot. It was beautiful and dark just how I like it, loaded with bars firing like a machine gun.Eazy, hmm… I’ve never heard him put in the same category as ‘Pac and B.I.G., although he pioneered their style. Eazy wouldn’t be as big right now since he didn’t have many options to rap about. He preferred the dark side, and although he knew Tupac and B.I.G., still believed that MC Ren (one of his best ghostwriters) was the greatest rapper of all time.Regardless, they are all respected as legends although they are overrated.I’m assuming this because many legends right now are still alive, and in their time were much better than Tupac, B.I.G., and Eazy but still don’t get their respect. Just to name a few:MC RenRaekwonIce CubeK-RinoI believe K-Rino is the GOAT. Listen to F.S.R.NasU-GodMethod ManRedmanEminem thinks Redman is the GOATAZKool G RapRZARakimGZADMXGhostface KillahMost of these OG rappers don’t get respect, why would Tupac, B.I.G., and Eazy get respect?

What are the "droptop VMs" Biggie refers to in "Big Poppa"?

He's not saying VMs, he's saying BMs. Droptop BMs, meaning droptop BMWs ie convertible BMW cars.

Do you think that Tupac and Biggie would be considered legends if they hadn't died?

Tupac and Biggie are rather overrated because of their early deaths, at the peaks of their careers. However, they would still be considered legends due to their early work. Realistically, they would not be able or willing to keep making great albums.Snoop Dogg made a 1993 classic Doggystyle, which sold 7 million copies in the US. He also collaborated with Dr Dre on 2001 (released in 1999). If Snoop was shot dead in 1994 or 2000, he would be considered one of the best. This is because people would be left wondering "how many classics could he have made if he didnt die?" Today he is a joke, many people have lost all respect for him because he has fallen off as a rapper. He has gone from being a gangster who changed west coast hip hop, to making a fool of himself on TV and collaborating with pop stars on any marginal or downright awful music he puts out.I don't think Tupac or Biggie would fall off quite as hard as Snoop Dogg, perhaps they would stop making music and become actors like Ice Cube or keep making mediocre music like Eminem. However, if Biggie released 5 albums in his life after 1997, then 1 or 2 (perhaps 3) would equal or surpass Ready To Die.Artists just don't keep making classics forever, eventually the music they make has to change for the worse because the genre of classics they made has become unpopular. Relapse demonstrated to the world that the old Eminem was gone, and 1999–2002 Eminem was not coming back. I feel the same would happen to both Tupac and Biggie- an event would happen which changed their careers, and they would struggle to find their footing among today's rappers like Kendrick Lamar, Logic, and Kanye West.
