Black Dots In Warts After They

What are the black dots under wart?

I realized I had a small wart on the palm of my hand and started treatment immediately (OTC). A week later, the skin around the wart (blister-like) peeled off and under neath the skin are black dots. A friend told me that the wart is gone and dead. Another friend told me that I need to continue with the treatment. Can someone please tell me if I should stop or continue treatment? Thanks!

What are the little black dots on my wart?

I have a wart on the end of my finger that I've had for a long time. I stated using Compound W on it and it's about gone. But at the little nub of it ther are oodles of black dots on and around it. What are these? And if I don't get rid of them will the wart grow back?

Black spots in my wart?? what are they?

Ok soo I(oddly enough) hate my wart(its shocking isn't it)and I was picking at the black spots(I literally dig my thumb nail down on the wart and push them out like seeds coming up from the ground)and theres this fairly big one maybe the reg. size of a strawberry seed () bout the size of those marks and so I totally target this spot all the time and I finally got it out and remember its this big () and it looks so odd, the other little tiny specks look like little hairs but this actually looks like a seed!!!!!! what is it!?!?!?!?

Frozen black wart.. What I need to do?

I've been battling with this wart for a little over 4 months. It started out as a little bump and I picked it off. It grew bike 3 times the size and is roughly about the size of a dime. It looked like read caulised skin that had tons of black seeds in it. I pcked It all off and it grew back again just the same. I got it froze and that was the most painful expeirience I've ever been through. A day later I picked it out and bits of I came out at a time easily and painfully. After it was a picked out it looked like you could see the meat of my hand. It was fleshy red and hurt to the touch. I left it alone and the wart grew back again! I just got it frozen yesterday and it was more painful than last time. It is now very hard and black. It hurts and I want to pick it out. What should I do? How long will this last? Should I pick it out again?

Are the little black dots in warts the cause of them?

drjrumle... is correct. Whatever that black dot is (necrotic tissue, dirt, some other minor blemish, etc.) it is not the cause.

Warts are caused when a virus infects the cells deep within the skin and those cells then multiply. They grow into a wart that encompasses the bump you see and a sub-surface mass you don't. So even if you cut off the lump you see, the infected cells below can keep multiplying and the lump appears to grow back.

The only ways to get rid of a wart are: leave it alone and let your body eventually take care of it (the virally-infected cells will eventually die or elicit an immune response); or have an expert remove it with the proper tools (usually freezing with liquid nitrogen).

Anecdotally, I tried treating my own plantar wart with liquid nitrogen once (I work in a lab) - it worked, but I kind of over-did it and ended up with a blister for about 2 weeks. The way the liquid nitrogen works is two-fold: it kills the cells (both infected and uninfected) and it can elicit an immune response that will speed up your body's attack on any remaining infected cells.

There are black dots in my plantar warts are they the roots i cant tell?

Okay, here's the answer. First of all, plantar warts are called that because they appear on the bottom (or plantar surface) of your feet. It has nothing to do with anyone planting anything, and the black spots are not seeds!

In the area of a wart, skin grows very rapidly. Those black dots are the broken ends of tiny capillaries in the area of rapid growth. The best method for getting rid of a wart is having your doctor freeze it with liquid nitrogen or place blister-causing medicine on it. At home, you can soak your feet in very warm water for 30 minutes every night to help with warts, though it usually isn't a complete cure. Good luck!

How can I get rid of a black spot under my foot?

Those might be plantar’s warts on the bottom of your feet. The black in the middle are “seeds”. They are highly contagious, and that is why the seeds are sown in showers ,wet damp areas. The seeds are what make it look black. I got the only one I ever had when I went to summer camp when I was nine. They had dank ,dusky showers and no one told us what to watch out for. To this day I always wear flip flops if I am in a pool situation or in communal showers. I did it for the entirety of my four years in college with a hall bathroom. Planter’s warts have to be frozen off or burned off with acid and unless it's changed, by a dermatologist. Mine took about five treatments. They freeze your wart area with liquid nitrogen and then apply the acid. It doesn't leave a scar that way. There is a surgical option but I have heard there is a potential for the wart to grow back. A dermatologist is your best bet. And it doesn't hurt. Its just very cold.

Shouldn I NOT pick on my plantar wart?

Hi there,

I've had 4 plantar warts in the last 3 years. I feel like am expert on them now!

Those little black dots you wrote of are actually the blood vessels in the wart. Warts are highly "vascularized", meaning they have a good blood supply. That's why they bleed when you pick them.

With my latest plantar wart, I did what it sounds like you did. I bought Dr Scholls freeze away and froze that wart bad. Unfortunately, it only became a crater in my foot. Soon, your wound will begin to scab over. I picked and picked at it. Eventually, the scab will heal and you'll be back where you started - with a wart. Only now it will be bigger. Of course you shouldn't pick at it due to infection like you said, but also because it won't do anything in the long term. Also, when you pick at it, you risk spreading the wart HPV virus to your hands or other parts of your foot. You're already susceptible to the virus!

I know it sounds drastic....but I've had great success with traditional surgical excision at the podiatrist office. Takes about 30-45 minutes and its done under local anesthesia. You can drive yourself home after, but plan on a day or two off your feet. The injection of the anesthesia hurts a lot. The pain after for me is less bad than the pain of walking with a wart! Healing totally takes a couple weeks to a month. Be warned - it's a little gross to look at because doctors don't stitch the bottom of the foot. You'll have a hole in your foot, literally. Cost - my doctor charges about $200 for the removal surgery including a surgical shoe to wear after. If you have insurance, it's usually totally covered.

Your picked at wart will recover and just be a normal wart again soon!
