Blood Work On An 8 Month Old

How much do I feed my 8 month old Lab?

if you're afraid you're starving her then why not continue with the two times a day but cut back to a cup and a half each time? or just one cup in the morning and two cups at nite. Our pup is approaching 1 year of age which should be fed once a day - instead of completely cutting back, we are slowly decreasing his morning meal to less and less so eventually it's once a day so he can get use to the gradual change.

What weight should my 8 month old labrador be?

Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. Here is a link to a good illustrated guide, http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/R...

You should be feeding an all life stages food now. Switching to an adult chow for the larger breeds at 4 months, slows growth and helps develop sturdier joints. It is typical of Labs to by highly food motivated.

What to do with out of control, 8 month old Labrador?

She is at the age of losing baby teeth and getting her permanents.
Get a kong toy, freeze it filled with peanut butter.
Get some raw bones, make them icy cold.

It will pass, just remember you have a retriever, they are bred to retrieve, they are never truly happy without having something in their mouth, better still bringing it to you and receiving praise.

Look at challenging your Lab, obedience, tracking is a great venture for you and your Lab.
Toys that require intelligence to get treats are most rewarding for a Lab.

My son spit up blood. What could this mean?

Tim would you shut your hole. Can you not read? She said she's taking him to the doctors later and her doctor said he was alright enough to wait. Why do you even get on and answer questions when you don't even supply anyone with valid answers? Grow up and learn some compassion for mothers who do care about their children Maybe if your own mother paid for attention to you then you wouldn't be such an hardened loudmouth jerk.

Anyway. The other woman is right. If it came from his stomach it would be discolored. If there are no cuts in his mouth there maybe a broken blood vessel in his throat that he got from crying earlier in the day or from spitting up earlier on. If so, it doesn't take much to reopen the cut. It happens all the time and you're doctor is right that he should be seen but that is a very small amount of blood and is not very concerning at this point. If he continues before his appointment I would advise to take him to the E.R. regardless of the doctors choice. It's easy to see you are a first time mother. Keep an eye out on him and don't let any symptoms slip past you. If he is sick this can contribute aswell. It is possible he could have a sinus infection or ear infection, in any case these are not URGENT problems and can wait for your sons appointment unless it worsens beforehand. Good luck.

8 month old with fever for 4 days..question?

My son is 8 months old and has had a fever for 4 days. We took him to the doctor on Thurs, with a 104 temp. No other symptoms so she said to alternate tylenol and motrin. Fri morning he woke up with 104.8 temp so we took him back. Again said to alternate medicine and it's probably roseola. High fever again yesterday morning and today his fever has stayed down around 101.5. He has a rash but looks nothing like roseola but more like heat rash. He's very lethargic and hold the back of his head a lot. He isn't eating and not drinking many fluids (he won't take them). Doc said to just wait until tomorrow if he still has the fever but we were wondering if he should just go ahead and take him to urgent care?

My 6 month old chocolate lab is already 66lbs...?

Today I was actually at a Hunt Test about an hour away from my home....
One mad had these two male black labs, and I have to say-they were giants! The biggest labs I have seen by far, but for their size they were very proportioned. They had these huge, blocky, almost dane-like faces, but had that lengthy, leggy field lab look as well. Needless to say, they preformed very very well in the competition.

How big were her parents? And is she overweight?
Labs do have a tendency to get overweight, so keep an eye on that. If she's not overweight, I would have a look at her parents. She might just be a big girl.
