Bowel Movements And Feeling Sick

What can be the cause of dizziness after bowel movement?

Sounds like a Vasovagal response.A what?!A Vasovagal response is your body's reaction to a BIG stimulus to you Vagus nerve. Often times, that's through bowel movements. Keep reading for why it is happens.Vagus NerveEvery person has 12 very important cranial nerves, that control the auto-functions of the body. Your Vagus nerve is a busy cranial nerve and main player for controlling your “flight-or-fight response”.Your Vagus nerve, controls/helps with:SweatingHeart rateAppetiteBOWEL MOVEMENTBlood vessels opening and closingAnd many moreSo when a person has an intense bowel movement, your vagus nerve redirects your blood away from your brain to your gut causing dizziness/blurry vision. Triggering a Vasovagal response.Recommendation:See your primary care doctor about the issue, to rule other causes of dizziness and make sure there is not a more serious medical problem or reaction to medicine.Consult with a clinical Dietitian to address fiber intake to make bowel movements less intense.Drink plenty of water to help things move along easier in your gut as well as help your blood volume, so you have enough blood to go around.Regular exercise is also important to help with digestion and train your Vagus nerve to better manage blood flow in your body.

Feeling sick before and after bowels?

Sounds like you have a vasovagal response which sometimes happens with straining during bowel movements. It's also called defecation syncope which is the temporary loss of consciousness (syncope) upon defecating (having a bowel movement). Syncope is the temporary loss of consciousness or, in plain English, fainting. Under these conditions, people often become pale and feel nauseated, sweaty, and weak just before they lose consciousness.

It's caused by a reflex of the involuntary nervous system called the vasovagal reaction. The vasovagal reaction leads the heart to slow down (bradycardia) and, at the same time, it leads the nerves to the blood vessels in the legs to permit those vessels to dilate (widen). The result is that the heart puts out less blood, the blood pressure drops, and what blood is circulating tends to go into the legs rather than to the head. The brain is then deprived of oxygen, and the fainting episode occurs.

What you can do in the future to prevent it, on the most basic level, make sure that you are getting adequate sleep and that you stay hydrated. While on the toilet, or in between trips, you can cross your legs, keeping the muscles tight, and lower your head toward the floor to help to stabilize your blood pressure.

What could be causing my frequent bowl movements with bloating, gas, abdominal pain, and nausea?

I almost constantly battle with a lot of abdominal pain, gas and bloating. Nearly every time I use the restroom I have a bowel movement or feel like I need to. On and off for the past few years I'll have a week or more where I just feel sick to my stomach every time I eat. I have a lot of anxiety problems and I don't know if it's the cause but it definitely makes my anxiety worse during these times.

I feel sick after I poop?

I know this is gross. I hate talking about my bowel movements. By the way I am a girl, I don't know if that's need to know for this question.
Anyway, It has been very strange. For the past few days, every morning I will poop, then I feel sick all day long.
It's not like it's hard to go to the bathroom. I go very easily. I always go at the same time. The only thing that has been different, the last few months, there are days I will go at least 3 times in a day. It doesn't happy very often, but it happens at least once a week.
Just hoping someone can help, because I hate being sick all day long and feeling like i'm going to puke, but yet I never puke. It's getting so frustrating.
Thanks so much.
Hope everyone has a good day/night.

I feel sick after eating steak!?

I don't eat a lot of steak. But the odd time that I do I feel sick. Almost as soon as I finish my meal I feel nauseous and my stomach cramps up! It also leads to having a bit of loose bowel movements too. Is there any explanation for this???

Why is it that when some people see their own bowel movement in the toilet they are okay with while when they see someone elses they feel sick?

Your own bowel movements cannot make you sick. They cannot contain any pathogen that you are not already infected by. Somebody else’s, on the other hand, are a risk. In the modern world, where antibiotics and other medications are readily available, the risk is very slight. But our instincts in this regard were evolved long ago, when the risk was very real. People who were repulsed by other people’s feces and went out of their way to avoid touching them would be less likely to get sick, more likely to live longer, and thus more likely to pass this trait along to their offspring. Being repulsed by your own feces, on the other hand, offers no survival advantage.

No appetite, feel sick after eating, fatigue...?

I have far less medical knowledge than you, but I must ask what you are eating. I suggest you see a dietician and tell them your diet and get some blood work and allergy tests done.

Why do I feel nauseous after eating cereal or have a bowel movement?

1. It sounds like you are definitely reacting to something you're eating, yes? The trick is figuring out what.

2. If you don't feel sick when you have it with milk, you may be looking at an intolerance rather than an allergy. There is no test for the majority of food intolerances except for an elimination diet. Lactose and fructose intolerance are the only ones that we have tests for yet. But with an intolerance, sometimes when you have other food at the same time, it can lessen the effects, or if the reaction is low (like nausea) it might even prevent it, or draw it out longer so it's such a mild effect it's not as noticeable.

I would take a look at two things, if I were you.
- what vitamins and minerals the cereal you crave is giving you. Often, grain products are fortified with certain vitamins, so you could be craving that.
- I would break down the ingredients in the cereals that are affecting you and try them separately so you can figure out which ingredient, exactly, is causing you problems.

Re: the celiac disease (gluten allergy). If you have non-celiac gluten intolerance, there is no test for this, just like so many of the other food intolerances. An elimination diet is needed to test this. Although some folks I'm meeting these days are having problems with either ALL grains, or sometimes with the binding agents in grain products (gums, like xanthan, guar, or arabic can cause nausea and other problems).

Re: a similar experience - I have a few mild allergies, which tested negative many times before I finally got a positive test. And a few intolerances, as well. Nausea is one of my most common symptoms, and tends to last for a day or more.
