Brake Lights On 1993 Honda Accord Lx

Location of Honda Accord Brake Light Fuse (2000)?

there are two fuses; one is a 20 amp fuse in the underhood fuse box. it is the middle fuse in the innermost of the two rows of 3 fuses. it will have a number 20 on it. the underhood fuse box should be under the hood (duh) on the passenger rear of the engine compartment

the other fuse is a 7.5 amp fuse in the under dash fuse box
that fuse is the third fuse down in the single column. the top two rows have 2 fuses each; the brake lamp fuse is in the single row below the top two and has a 7.5 on it. the under dash fuse box is under the steering coumn or on the left kick panel.

do any of the tail lamps work? if the lights work with the headlamps on but not when you step on the brakes the problem could be with the brake lamp switch at the top of the brake pedal.

it is also possible that you have a broken ground wire in the trunk. the ground is at the left rear of teh trunk compartment usually a screw holding a black wire to the metal panel that holds the taillamps

hope that helps

1993 Honda Accord is stuck in park, the brake lights don't work, the horn and the cruise control doesnt work!!

They reason that the shifter won't come out of park is because the "shift interlock" solenoid is not functioning.. This solenoid is on the same circuit as the brake lights and poss ibly the horn.. The reason for the fuse blowing can be traced down by process of elimination. It may be as simple as a bad bulb that is shorted internally after it burned the filament. Try taking the brake light bulbs out of there sockets and then replace the fuse, push the brake pedal and if the fuse doesn't blow it is possibly in one of the bulbs.. If it still blows, inspect the brake light switch and wiring... It is also real possible that the shift interlock solenoid itself may be shorted.. This unit is mounted under the console on the shifter... disconnect the solenoid and try another fuse, see what happens...
Without being there to help you further ,this is the best answer I can give ya..

Good luck

1993 Honda Accord LX: Brake lights stay on when car is off?

I have a 1993 honda accord 2.2 liter with 167,000 miles.
When I turn off my car my brake lights remain on. I check the fuses and the bulbs. Does anyone have any suggestions? Your response will greatly be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Brake lights are stuck on, on my '92 Honda Accord LX?

The two most likely causes are a stickly brake pedal or brake switch. Check the following:
1. Make sure your brake pedal is returning all the way - pull on it with your hand and see if the brake lights go off. If so, try lubricating the pedal hinge mechanism but you may have a master cylinder problem starting.
2. Check the electrical switch on the brake pedal lever itself, under the dash. Make sure that the plunger or lever is moving freely. If you have the tools you should check this switch to make sure it's working, if not then just replace it because it's cheap.

Oh, and of course make sure your brake fluid is topped off to the proper level.

Honda- Third brake light question.?

Wiring a third brake light can be easy AND it can be difficult. If you moved the wire from the original third light to the one on the spoiler it should work just fine. If it's not working properly then something somewhere is a miss. You could have a short. (here's what short means, for those who use "Short" to describe EVERY sort of electrical problem: A short is when an electrical path finds its way back to ground without doing the work the circuit is meant to. Suppose you have a battery, a switch, a light and the associated wires to light it. When the switch is off (open) the light does not light. But when you switch it on (closed) the circuit is complete and the light lights up. However, if there is a place where the wire touches ground before it gets to the light then the light won't light. Hence - a short.)

A short will blow a fuse, and could be the cause of your dash light displaying the rear light on your dash. Since I don't have a Honda I don't know for sure. But having been over 30 years in the electronics field I know weird things do happen.

Start by disconnecting the new light. See if the dash light goes off. If it does, the light in the spoiler may be defective, Does the spoiler light come on when you step on the brake pedal? If not, either something is wrong with the wiring OR the light itself may be bad. It could be possible that the dash light is detecting that the spoiler light is burned out. It may be that simple.

In short, you have to do more checking. When you have better information on what it does and doesn't do THEN we might be able to help you.

Till then, good luck.

ADDITIONAL: J.J. is right about the inspection aspect. If the car is equipped with a light and it's not working - even if you've installed an additional light, the original equipment (OE) MUST be in working order. If you add hundreds of lights to a car (assuming they don't site you for miss use of lights) and one of them is out you CAN get a ticket.

Thumbs up J.J.

Where is brake light fuse for honda 1993 accord please help?

1994 honda accord brake lights will not shut off when car is turned off.?

Replace the brake light switch which is mounted somewhere on the brake pedal. Avoid driving the car since this will increase your chances of getting rear ended if you have to stop abruptly and you live in one of those places where people don't understand the dangers of tailgating.

What does the red "SRS" light mean on the Honda Accord?

SRS means supplemental restraint system which refers to all the components related to your air bags, as in; impact sensors, SRS modulator, Inflation unit and the wiring.Whenever you turn on the ignition, the SRS light will come on for six seconds. It performs self diagnosis test during this while. It will go off after six seconds. If there is no problem in the system it will not come on again. But If any problem exists in the system it will come on again after 2 seconds. If it comes on, it is recommended that you take your vehicle to the nearest Honda service station. But if you want to compromise with the safety there is a way of resetting the light. You can get the directions of doing it here. How to Reset SRS Light on a Honda Accord Civic or Prelude

How to fix the door open lights on 1993 honda accord ex?

It can be one of two problems...

1: One of your door jamb switches has gone bad or is not properly pressing in.

2: You might of let your interior light switch turned to on which means it will be running constantly.

The worst problem I can tell you is you might have an electrical issue. If you do not care about having interior lights check the fuses and remove the one with your lights but don't do it if it also handles something else. Best of luck

93 Honda Accord "D4" light on dash blinking?

First.
D4 means your transmission will select all the gear ranges (1-4) available for it. Over-drive simply refers to the final transmission gear in which the wheels are turning faster than the engine producing the least amount of torque but the greatest amount of MPG. There is no damage done to the transmission or engine in this gear range.
D3 means your transmission will only select gears 1-3 but not the last gear (over-drive). This is perfectly fine for "around town" driving and also does no harm.
2 means your transmission will only select gears 1 or 2.
1 means well, just 1st gear.

When you have a blinking light coming from the transmission PRNDL lights, it means there was a problem with your transmission detected. Simply put, it's your transmissions version of a Check Engine Light. Honda transmissions are very sensitive and often fail when not maintained, so driving it around with whatever issue it's having ever since you first noticed the blinking light probably put unnecessary strain on it and damaged it further. At this point, whatever shop you may go to will probably just recommend a new transmission as it probably needs rebuilding. But you may also get lucky and it could just be a problem with the torque converter or another easy fix issue. If I were you, I'd quit driving the car and take it to a shop or the dealer as soon as possible.

The brake light coming on is an indication of low brake fluid. You just simply need to add more brake fluid. As your brake pads wear down it takes more and more fluid to get them to press up against the brake rotor or drum and slow the car, so you compensate for that by adding fluid.
