Feeling so sick and weak. Anxiety disorder?...please help :(?

Ok let me start at the begining...

I'm a 23 year old male. It all started when my girlfriend and I were travelling abroad for a year. Things were fine, up until the last month. I was finding it very difficult to find work, but my girlfriend had found a good job. i grew to hate travelling and wanted to go home. i got very sick, some form of stomach bug. i was so sick that i couldnt eat or function very well. we were staying in a horrible apartment, which didn't help my mood. money was very tight and things were just generally horrible. The stomach bug eventually sub sided a little, however I still felt very sick and had no appitite. I felt under a lot of pressure as she didnt want to go home but i did. then one day i just started crying and i havent really stopped. this happed around 2 months ago. my whole world seemed to come crashing down. I cant seem to take any joy in anything. we came home as I thought that would help, but now that I'm home, things haven't really changed. I wake up each day in absolute dispair, I walk around all day like a zombie. I can't talk to anyone, I feel so sick and panicked that I can't even have a conversation with anyone. I moved back in with my parents, I'm unemployed and I spend my days in utter misery, crying, and not been able to have a positive thought at all. I went to the doctor as soon as I came home. He took bloods and they were all clear. I had been on anti- depressants in the past, I went off them when I was abroad as I was feeling much better. The doctor put me back on my medication, but I don't think they will help. I told him I still thought there was something physically wrong with me, as I have never recovered from when I got sick. He told me its all anxiety and panic and there is nothing wrong with me. I also went to a psychiatrist. He told me that I suffer from an anxiety disorder, which is making me very depressed and suicidal, so he refered me to a psycologist for CBT and councilling.

Is there a change that I picked up some virus while abroad and thats whats makeing me feel so sick? Or is it simply that I panicked myself into feeling like this. I mean can anxiety really take over your life like this? I can't see my friends cos i dont want them to see me in this state. I can't think clearly about anything. Does anyone suffer from similar symptoms who could give me some advice? I'm really in a bad way here. any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

How to swim 100m without getting tired and having to stop ?

What I suggest, from personal experience, is use long strokes with your arms and dont worry about the time at first, get to where you have a steady breathing pace, usually a 3 stroke breath to 5 stroke breath and go slow. Then you'll get used to your breathing and then start worrying about your time. Basically, just practice doing a slow 100. Hope it helps{:

What are the correct breathing techniques in bodybuilding?

What are the fitness and health benefits of swimming?

Here are some health benefits of swimming:Full body workout. Swimming uses all the muscles in the body so whether you swim a gentle breaststroke or hammer butterfly, you will get a full body workout. Plus, exercising in water makes your body work harder so 30 minutes in a pool is worth 45 minutes of the same activity on land.Great for general wellbeing. Just 30 minutes of swimming three times a week alongside a balanced, healthy diet and lifestyle is one of the best ways to stay fit and healthy and maintain a positive mental outlook. Do it with friends, and it’s even more fun!De-stresses and relaxes. Whether it’s work stressing you out, the kids being a nightmare, or just life in general, we all get times we just want to SCREAM. Well, help is at hand. Swimming regularly can lower stress levels, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve your sleep patterns. Feeling the mental benefits of swimming takes just a light swim. No lane pounding needed.Burns those calories. Swimming is one of the most effective ways to burn calories. A gentle swim can burn over 200 calories in just half an hour, more than double that of walking. And a faster swim would see that indulgent chocolate bar gone quicker than if you went running or cycling.Lowers the risk of diseases. As well as being a great form of cardiovascular exercise, swimming just 30 minutes a week can help to guard against heart disease, stroke and type 2 diabetes.Supports the body. Water supports up to 90 per cent of the body’s weight. So if you sprained an ankle at Monday night football or have a long term injury or illness, swimming is a brilliant way to stay active.Increases your energy levels. Inactivity and not ageing is often responsible for people’s lack of energy. Just 30 minutes of swimming three times per week can boost your energy levels through increased metabolic rate.Exercising without the sweat. If sweating puts you off other forms of exercise, fear not! As a swimmer, you’ll never feel sweaty no matter how hard you work because the water around you is constantly cooling you down.

Why don't those who teach swimming first teach techniques to breathe as this scares many who keep holding their breath and don’t learn to relax and breathe?

I think most people learning to swim have already mastered breathing. But the water pressure and swimming pool environment can make anxious people struggle. I have to assume that any decent swimming instructor would know and recognise this, so perhaps you have a poor teacher.Teaching any swimming stroke involves a particular rhythm and method of breathing, which is up to the student to follow. You can't actually teach a stroke without going over the breathing. It's certainly not being ignored. If your fear of water is such that just standing still is giving you breathing difficulty, it's up to you to inform the teacher who may decide you need different lessons, or advise you to get more practice on your own time.

What precautions should we take when learning to swim, and what are their side effects?

I am not an expert swimmer or anything, but i did learn swimming very very quickly, like on the first day of my swimming, i learned underwater. Within 2–3 days i started floating and within a week i learned swimming. Here are some tips which you may find useful;Don't be afraid of water: The only reason you may not learn how to swim. Instead just explore the water. Go underwater, keep in shallow waters and just enjoy it. Try and swim from point A to B under water. Underwater swimming is much easier.Control: You will need to be precise in your control over your limbs and your breath. Practice control.Practice floating: Just push yourself from one end and keep your body flat. You will travel some distance unless you beat your hands and legs. Just do this for some time.Practice back float: lie on your back and float. Just push yourself gently using your arms and legs (or only legs). This is most relaxing and enjoyable form of swimming.Do not panic: There may arise a situation where your leg is cramped or your breath is over. Just don't panic. Relax and try to get to the shore.I dont think anything has side effects when it comes to swimming.
