Bubble Above My Nose Piercing

Bubble above my nose piercing?

I got my nose pierced on February 18th and everything has been going fine. I haven't had any infections, it only hurt for the first few days. I've been cleaning it 3 times a day with the solution my piercer gave me. I don't touch it unless my hands are cleaned and I'm cleaning it.

But this morning I noticed a bubble of what looks to be skin has formed above the piercing, on the outside. It hurts a little bit when I move the ring. What do I do? Is it an infection, or what? How should I treat it?

Bubble above my nose piercing?

Okay so I got my nose pierced a few months ago and a couple weeks after I got it done, a hyperagenic scar (sorry for my spelling) came up above my piercing. I decided to change my stud to a ring 3 months after I got it pierced. The bubble finally went away! Recently a huge bubble came up in the same spot. Only this time a small brown/red dot is on it. I've been using salt soaks but that hasn't been helping. Would it be okay to take out my ring? Would the bubble go away?

Bubble above my nose piercing?

The bubbles are probably hypertrophic scarring, which isn't uncommon in piercings. If you clean it 2-3 times a day with sea salt soaks (1/4 tsp. in 8 oz. of warm water) or an anti-bacterial soap (like Satin or Provon, but Dial is acceptable if you can't find the other two), then it should eventually go away. A lot of people say tea tree oil also helps with this, but I've only ever had one incident of hypertrophic scarring and it cleared up pretty fast with Satin soap.

The puss shouldn't be green though. That's an indication of infection. Do not use Neosporin, alcohol, peroxide, etc. Use the sea salt soak or anti-bacterial soap and get to a professional piercer or a doctor for their opinion as soon as possible.

Bubble on my nose piercing.?

I have had my nose done 7 times and every single one of them got the bubble that you are describing. And honestly, the only thing that made it go away was draining the liquid inside, through popping it or sticking a clean needle through it. I know this sounds gross and unsafe, but really, you need to get that drained, even if you just go to a doctor to do it. You need to drain it and have it dry out. This also could happen several times during the piercing's healing, so be prepared. If you let it go, you will end up with a huge infected mass that may need to be removed with surgery.

Just keep it empty and drain it and keep cleaning it daily.

Good luck.

Edit: Soaking it can work, but it may end up bigger and bigger till you eventually have to go to a doctor and...get it drained. I have no scars on my nose from doing this and the drainage? I got this tip from a DOCTOR who had to drain my nose several times before he gave me tips to do it myself. Clean hands when popping and letting it dry out. He basically said that because of grease and oils in the nose, it causes more or less something of a perminent zit on the piercing. This happens to a lot of people. I happened to have it chronically. I popped it anywhere from four to five times and it never came back. I also tried the soak method and nothing happened.

It may just be different for ever person, but discrediting something that has worked is just silly. You cannot be 100% clean with your piercings all of the time. Sometimes, you want to swim and paintball and get dirty. So what, people get pierced and they're supposed to put their lives on hold until it heals? I've given my clients advice that has helped heal them perfectly and let them go about their daily business. It's just stupid to assume that everyone who gets pierced has to stay in a bubble until everything heals. Not reality.

Why do I have a bump on my nose piercing?

There are 3 bump like things that your nose might be displaying.A Follicular Cyst, a Keloid, or an Abscess.Symptoms and remedies are all located at the link belowWhat's That Bump - Best Piercing

Red bubble, bump, above nose piercing. what to do?

Long story short. I had a stud put in my nose but it was too small and fell through my nose a little. So i went back to the shop and they put a hoop in (I went back 4 days after piercing). Everything was fine but then this bump showed up. It is very red and soft. when I am cleaning my nose I can push the piercing in between the bump, which makes me think it is not a bump but some "meat" sticking out. I have been cleaning it regularly and using tea tree oil but it won't go away. What can I do now? It's so embarassing having it on my face.

Nose pierce small bubble ..... ?

Don't worry, it's a keloid. They start very small and only get bigger if you do not immediately tend to them. They are extremely common with cartilage piercings, and my friends who have nose piercings have had them. To get rid of it you do not need to take the jewelry out. You just need to dry out the keloid. You can do this by cleaning the piercing with H20cean saltwater spray whenever you can, and additionally warm salt water on a cotton ball (mix 1 tablespoon sea salt with 1 cup warm water) 2-3 times a day letting the cotton ball soak the piercing for a couple minutes. The salt will dry up the keloid, and the warmth helps your circulation to continue healing the piercing.

Although alcohol is very good at drying up keloids (and drying skin in general) use it very sparingly - or not at all if you can help it - on a brand new piercing because it will kill the good bacteria needed for the piercing to heal.

Good luck!

Nose piercing and a huge bubble?

I have researched so many previous yahoo questions about these piercing bumps that people get around the nose piercing. I've had this for 4 weeks now and I've taken care of it like I should. I cleaned it with anti bacterial soap twice a day- also I read that you should not use soap to clean it, but that's what my piercer told me and I've never had problems with them before so I'm not sure why it's bad. Anyways, a couple times since I've had it, my hand has accidentally snagged the stud out of my nose (cork screw) and that's when the bump came. I do not plan on taking it out, I just need to know what to do. I've tried non iodized sea salt and it hasn't shown any results. Please help if you can!!

The bump is known in the industry as a hypotrophic scar or granulation. Sometimes it is called a keloid or piercing pimple/blood blister. (It seems it has a lot of names)It is due mostly to 4 main factors:Jewellery material or shape. If the jewellery you are wearing is cheap or isn't good for your skin then a bump will happen. Usually this can happen if your stud is too short or long as well. And it is BOUND to happen if you are wearing rings during the healing time of the piercing (when it's still new, first 6 months)Aftercare. If you aren't using just warm salty water according to Association of Professional Piercers then you will likely see this bump. Yes this means you mister/miss alcohol spray over there!
