Buying Off Of An Amazon Wish List Question

Buying off of an Amazon wish list question?

My boyfriend doesn't know I know of his amazon wish list. I searched to see if he has one and he does. I wish to buy something off it for him for Christmas but don't want it to send to his house. Will he be notified something was purchased off of it? I don't want to ruin a Christmas surprise. Thanks in advance!

Amazon Wishlist duplicate items question?

I'm setting up a wishlist for people to use when Christmas rolls around. But i cant find any information about whether if i set the list to not spoil my surprises, it will warn other people if they try and buy a book that someone else has already bought off my list. Would seem rather useless if it doesn't but I need to be able to say one way or the other when people ask.

How can I get men to buy me Amazon wishlist stuff?????

One way I can think of is being a camera ho, but that's not really a great way. I would probably set up a blog or maybe a myspace or facebook and put my wish list up on there.

A question about my wish list on Amazon?

It's not your order. It's someone else's order. When someone buys something that's on your wishlist... THEY are buying it using THEIR Amazon account, and determining where they want it delivered. I've ordered 2 things that are on my daughter's wish list, and had them delivered to me. If I wanted them delivered to her, I would put in her address. When people order from your wish list, it's not up to you to provide shipping information. It's up to them. When placing the order we are given the option to use an address we had already provided, or to put in another address. Again... they are ordering using their own Amazon accounts, not your Amazon account. The ONLY thing they have access to from your account is your Wish List... nothing else. Shipping information we have in our accounts is NOT provided to the person ordering something that's on our wish lists, so you would have nothing to do with that at all.

Will Amazon tell you if someone has purchased an item from your Wish List?

After an unexpected phonecall from FedEx this afternoon, I was skeptical (since I've made no recent purchases) that someone might have bought an item off of my Amazon Wish List. However, I have it set to keep all of the purchases a 'surprise' - so I have no way of knowing just by checking my list.

So I called up Amazon and simply asked if they could tell me whether or not someone had simply bought something from the list. After a big roundabout, the operator seemed very hesitant. All I could get out of him was "For future reference, we aren't permitted to tell you the name or location of the person who bought you a gift." and then, after I told him I didn't care about any personal info, and asked him "So no one purchased anything from my list" I got a very awkward, hesitant "...Yes." from him.

I was just wondering, can Amazon tell you if someone bought an item off of your Wish List - or do they try to not divulge that info? Like I said, a simple yes or no was like pulling teeth - so I'm wondering if someone did purchase an item, and he simply felt uncomfortable telling me 'Yes.'

Has anyone here dealt with anything similar with Amazon? I'm curious to hear what others have to say.

Can someone purchase something on an Amazon wish list and then cancel it?

You can cancel anytime before it ships. Check your recent order history on the Amazon site to see if that order has shipped yet and if you can cancel it.

After it ships, if it's being sent to you you can refuse the package and it should be returned and credited. If it's being sent to someone else you can ask them to refuse the package though that may not work for you :)

I believe if you cancel it, you didn't buy it, so it won't show up as purchased. I'm not sure b/c I've never canceled a wish list order.

Guy claims to buy me things on my amazon wishlist scam?

How can I get someone to buy me things off my amazon.com wish list without doing anything for them!?

Serious question I'm so broke and needs things to model in ASAP. I really need someone to buy me things?!!!! My job doesn't pay enough to cover bills and modeling apparel!!!

If you buy something used off Amazon, how can you know its condition and can they be refunded if bought?

I am a seller on amazon india,we cant sell used items at amazon india. But amazon policy is to serve customer first then seller. You will get refund if you got defective or different item.

If I don't buy anything this festive season from Amazon, .Flipkart, or Snapdeal, am I the loser?

As other Quorans have pointed out, the answer is based on your needs. In my experience though, goods that are light and costly are easier to ship over long distances and hence discounts are greater. Goods that are bulky (A4 paper anyone ?) but cheap tend to be the reverse. These are better bought offline, where retailers enjoy benefits of scale and are willing to pass them on to you.Another thing to consider is the time constraint. if the stuff you're going to buy will reach after Lakshmi Puja and you'd planned on wearing it/using it during the period, you're better of paying a premium to buy from the local stores.A third factor is bargaining. Goods sold online are fixed price. Some stuff, especially clothing, can be purchased cheaper than the marked price st local stores if you happen to be a “regular”. Doesn't work for branded stuff but then many people go for quality over branding.Fourthly, there are questions about warranty. 9 out of 10 times the online seller won't give you a stamped warranty card or equivalent certificate. In physical stores, you can demand such a document. Without it, warranty may or may not be provided.Fiftly, there's the opposite of point 2. You may need to carry out extensive research and compare prices. Amazon's lightning deals and suchlike don't allow for that. If you believe haste makes waste, you probably have nothing to lose from purchasing at your convenience from the local store (provided you buy within *their* offer period).Sixthly, many physical stores offer credit packages (not credit cards EMIs, those are different). Neither Amazon nor Flipkart take the risk of offering these Financing or credit packages.Lastly, goods bought online may be past their use by date. If foods or medicines are on your wish list, you're better off burning calories on your way to the local stores. That said, I personally prefer online shopping during these periods because of the excellent exchange and bank offers that they have, allowing costly goods to be purchased without throwing in the wallet. Again, product catalogue and reviews allow for quick decisions that work if you are moderately well informed in advance. Lastly, these sales traditionally bring in goods that are usually not available yet. For instance, the Mi Band 2 made its debut on Amazon during the sale.So based on what you want and what you know about it, you can decide whether these sales are worth it or not.
