Can A Doctor Lie To A Minor About Te Purpose Of A Urine Test

I'm a minor (17). If I tell my doctor I smoke marijuana could it get my parents in trouble?

I don’t recommend telling your doctor you do drugs unless it’s relevant. For example, I have a friend who, aged under 30, had a serious genetic heart condition she only found out about last year after nearly dying. She smokes weed for pain but weed is neither legal nor accessible for medical purposes in Estonia. When she asked her doctor, he simply didn’t know what to say. So she left none the wiser. Of course, as she is under 30, nobody cares. Laissez faire. If there is nothing wrong with you, there is no reason to talk about it to your doctor out of the blue. We as a society have a hard time accepting that drugs have been a normal part of life for as long as humanity has existed, and it’s only thanks to the practitioners of one or two specific faiths that has seen the use of psychoactive plants and compounds looked down upon. Honestly, it’s the 21’st century, we should get over it.If you really need to tell them, for whatever reason, make sure you’ve got doctor-patient confidentiality and they’re not at liberty to share the information without your consent. There’s no point in suffering for a principle and having nothing change for the better as a result.Unless your parents know and help you obtain said marijuana, they can’t get in trouble unless you get arrested for possession* or something else illegal and they have to pay your fines for you.*Check what the decriminalized amount in your area is, because it may mean the difference between simply getting a “ticket” or a fine from the officer, like you get for being intoxicated from alcohol as a minor, or actually getting arrested.

Drug testing at work, if a minor do they tell your parents?

Drug testing at work, if a minor do they tell your parents?
Title pretty much says it all..but I am applying at Kohls and on the application it said some position must take a drug test prior to employment. I am 17, and if I were to "fail" the test and have THC in my system, would they have to tell my parents since I'm a minor? Also would they do the testing at the interview or after?

Can your doctor tell your parents if you fail a drug test and you are a minor?

it's confidential.

Can doctors find out if you had sex by blood and urine tests?

No. A doctor can't even reliably tell if you are a virgin or not with a direct physical examination of the vaginal opening.

Doctors can tell when it is rape because of bruising and tearing due to the trauma of the experience but basically, after the age of 14 or so, as long as everything is consensual, a doctor can't tell if you have or have not had sex.

The hymen is broken when you fall, ride a bike or a horse, or otherwise bounce your bum.

I am pretty sure mine was decimated when I was 6 and I slipped on a metal, squared off balance beam and slammed STRAIGHT DOWN and my full body weight went on to my pelvis... I thought I broke my pelvis it hurt so bad.

After that, there was no hymen to find so no doctor could tell if I was or was not a virgin.

"Vaginal Tightness" isn't an indicator of virginity because the vaginal opening is meant to stretch to let a BABY through and snap back to normal...

A penis or finger or toy going in doesn't do what a baby does... So there is no indication of virginity.

DO NOT LIE TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT YOUR SEXUAL EXPERIENCES OR DRUG/ALCOHOL USE!

Doctors are required by law to not disclose information you provide to them to ANYONE, even your mom and dad, as long as you are not planning to hurt yourself or another or commit a crime.

Your medical information is sacrosanct and PRIVATE.

Your doctor needs to know if you are having sex because of the risk of STD Transmission.

HALF OF ALL HUMANS have HPV, genital warts, and 70%+ of all cases of cervical cancer is the result of HPV.

If you have had sex, you NEED different tests for your own health and safety.

If you are doing drugs and don't tell him/her, they may diagnose you with a mental illness you don't have!

You REALLY need to tell your doctor EVERYTHING...

They DO NOT CARE if you are or are not a virgin... They don't even care if you are having anal or doing gang-bang's other than it changes how they diagnose you and treat you.

Can the doctor tell if you have had sex with a pee sample?

Nope. Not at all. Unless they test the urine to see if you're pregnant...if you are, then it's obvious. Otherwise the urine will not be useful to see if you're a virgin or not. In fact, there is no way to tell. They may ask if you're sexually active...do not lie to the doctor, it may help find out what's wrong by ruling out some things. The doctor, by law, cannot discuss anything that is said in the room to your parents unless you want him/her to. Even if your mother calls the clinic, the doctor is not allowed to say anything. No worries.

Doctor-patient confidentiality and underage smoking?

Actually, you do have confidentiality. However, if there is a situation that involves a serious medical problem, where the parents need to be informed, they can break that privilege. The doctor's ethical duties are to protect the patient from harm. So if it would cause you harm, to not tell your parents, they would tell them. If it is a matter that if you don't tell the doctor and proper treatment can't be prescribed, or if there would be a contraindication of medications, you should always tell your doctor. Believe it or not, doctor's want their patient's trust, and want to honor it, because it helps them better treat their patients. So you could ask the doctor, what their views on smoking is, and whether they believe parents should be informed, before admitting to it, and see what they tell you. If the doctor says they always tell, and you feel that it is then unneccessary for them to know, based on whatever treatment you are getting, then you don't have to mention it I guess. But if you are seeing a doctor for asthma or some lung problem, you should definitely tell them so they can rule out other possible things and treat you better.

They would never turn you into the police. You as a patient, hold the privilege. (With some exceptions being a minor and for serious medical issues). So that would be a blatant violation of that privilege and you could also assert it in court if they tried to use the doctor's statements against you.

The only times they are allowed to break privilege is if they have a reasonable belief an imminent serious harm will occur, either to yourself or someone else. Another exception is mandatory reporting for suspected child abuse. But if you tell them about smoking in regards to seeking medical treatment, then that is your privilege and you can assert it against the court, if they try to use the doctor's information. But the doctor would never do that. With your parents, it would be a judgment call because they need to protect the minor patient's health, and have to decide what's the best way to do that - which could include telling your parents.
