We as a country are very critical of our sitting presidents and recent presidents. Especially when political parties work carefully to break us all up into voting blocks. This distorts the picture of many people due to their affiliations whether it be racial or politically motivated. Time is the best judge of any president. Actions of each president can only be judged looking back over a 20-40 year period or more as we learn more about the situations. We, the public, are not fully aware of the circumstances due to various classified information thus ALL foreign affairs can't be honestly judged until the information is declassified and historians have had a chance to pull all the supporting information together to paint a complete picture.Domestic policies work in a similar fashion, many programs or actions by the president are popular at the time they are done. The distance of time allows us to review the original purpose of the program or the action and than determine its overall effectiveness.Whether you want to believe it or not, Presidents are judged on how well they are able to get their policies implemented through congress. That means the President must not only be a leader but also a good legislator and be capable of bringing people together. That is one area, I think time will prove both presidents failed and failed poorly. Fortunately, time may actually end up giving them both a better grade depending on how the next couple of presidents fair in their attempts to deal with congress.I'll leave you with these last two thoughts. Thomas Jefferson was not a popular President when he left office. He was accused of over stepping his authority when he made the Louisiana Purchase. It was considered a folly. Of course now, we think of him as one of our best presidents.FDR was and has been very popular. However, more and more information is becoming available that shows how he bribed, intimidated, and controlled the federal programs for political gains. That has changed the perception of FDR by some historians. Good or Bad -- he was effective.Time will tell, your question is premature and somewhat presumptious.
