Can Anyone Suggest Where To Stay Near Unsw

Which one is better for a master’s in commerce, UNSW, the University of Sydney or Monash?

I would suggest you to go for UNSW.But for more info you can refer to this blog. Choose the best University in Australia for Higher Education - Australian Assignment Help Blog on Academic Help

As a Chinese Ph.D. student, I will be going to UNSW in Australia for a year. I am very worried about how to live there. What should I pay attention to?

If you are moving to UNSW as a mature student I do not feel you find yourself any out of place than the ordinary. You already have the experience of studying in an establishment and I am sure you already know how to take care of yourself. That being said, the country is warm and welcoming as opposed to a few comments here. Every person has had a unique experience which is why I would insist do not make up your mind on someone else’s experience. If you feel homesick, there is China Town where you will find mostly all that you are looking for. You need to however make sure that you book yourself a comfortable student accommodation. There are many student only accommodations in the city. These are just like university halls, only better. These modern student homes have all the amenities that you would need for a comfortable stay and to enable your research. You will be able to find all available student accommodation for yourself here - New South Wales University Accommodation. Each property is well made, comes fully furnished with all amenities, the best part is that they are included in the rent. All-inclusive rent helps in better budgeting and you will be able to plan accordingly. You can choose from studio rooms if you prefer, since these offer complete privacy however you will still be able to enjoy the student community experience.

I am planning to take a master of finance at UNSW next February. What distinguish it from the master of finance at other universities?

I had to google UNSW as it’s not a world-known college. It is not Yale or Princeton or Harvard. So, it’s just a college, of which there are many in the world. What is the difference between one Masters in Finance from another one? The prestige of the school and fame of its alumni. There does not appear to be much of note.If you are purely seeking some encouragement, you can read the university’s pamphlet where they outline how great the school is - you can use same information to advertise yourself to the employers.

Does a PhD from UNSW Canberra count as the same as a PhD from UNSW?

The PhD you get from UNSW@Canberra is a PhD from UNSW. It does not matter which campus you study at; the degree is the same. The degree certificate does not indicate which campus you were based at. Your experience as a student at the Canberra/ADFA campus will be quite different from the student experience you’d have in Sydney, however. Weigh that up, as you are likely to be there for a while.

How good is UNSW?

It really depends on the subject you are pursuing and the particular expert in the field you are interested in. Being a public research university, you need to do your homework and find out about your potential lecturers/ supervisors. As an ex academic, alumni, and son of alumni, I am biased. But UNSW really has given me the platform to grow in my field of expertise. As for faculties, despite the overall world universities rankings, which fluctuate but always in the top 100, some courses are the best in the world. E.g. the UNSW Business School (with AGSM) are 11th for Accounting and Finance and ranked equal 1st for Auditing Research. The engineering faculty is placed 1st in Australia and consistently top 30 in the world. Architecture and built environment, is in the top 20 in the world.

What subjects do you need to take in year 12 to become a doctor?

You should go to your careers adviser and ask what the specific requirements are for some of the universities near you (Western Sydney, Syndey and UNSW). But I would suggest taking Extension 1 maths and either chemistry and biology OR chemistry and physics OR physics and biology. These are the general requirements for science related university courses.

But most importantly, you need to get a good mark. These are competitive places (95+ ATAR rings a bell) and any subject that you do, you need to do well at. If you are terrible at chemistry, for instance, drop it and take something that you would do better at. You can always do a 'catch-up' course before you actually start uni if you need to.

Yes, you have to do the UMAT. I highly recommend doing the practice stuff they have online and ask around on online forums to see if anyone has any past exams or something. Also there are a few companies which give you 'study packs' for this. If you find them, then they're a good idea too. In fact... http://umatsuccess.blogspot.com/ <- free source and http://www.medentry.edu.au/ <- you have to pay. Don't think the UMAT will be really easy, it's not.

No university will tell you exactly what is an acceptable score in the UMAT or in your ATAR because they change every year, by a lot. But in general I can tell you that you should aim for an extremely high ATAR (95) and a high UMAT score (80th percentile) to be in for the shot. If you get a lower ATAR, you can make up for it with a higher UMAT and visa-versa. Neither are easy, so you have to study hard. But it is possible! Good luck and start studying! :D

Lastly. If you don't get into Medicine, don't give up hope. Also apply for B Science or Med Science or something relate. Do REALLY well in your first semester at uni and you can transfer in (my friends are doing that, haha).

Which would be better, Master of Engineering Science from UNSW or Master of Professional Engineering from University of Sydney?

Thanks for the A2A. I have answered similar queries on Quora previously. I would like to say that the MEngSc offered at UNSW is a good option though it's essentially a Master’s by Coursework degree. I have seen a lot of people including myself studying that particular course and climbing up the academic ladder to become PhDs, Postdocs, and even lecturers. I guess the course at UniSyd will be similar. I would suggest you to take either, pursue seriously and be proactive. Good luck!

Which course should I choose at UNSW: Master of Engineering (Electrical) or Masters of Engineering Science?

I think u r basically EE. Then ME EE is the right choice. Many students are studying MSC APSC. Already problems are there between Pure Physics and Applied physics. I suggest u to read ME CSC

USYD or UNSW is better in science?

You will need to complete an honours, USYD offers more projects then UNSW but UNSW has a high research rating and impact factor for biology. As an undergrad you wont find alot of difference, the courses are very similar, the only reason why I would suggest USYD over UNSW is if you plan on going onto Grad Med, USYD has a system in place that allows up to 10 students to transfer from B Med Sci to MBBS.

Which major sequence wont make a big deal, I suggest once you start keep record of the different lab skils you have acquired-techniques/protocols etc and you lab notes, so when you apply for a job you can show them.

Most jobs will require a honours minimum, if they dont->they will list which procedures they want your to know ELISA, PCR, etc.

Best Universities in Australia for international students?

Sydney University is a world class university equal in standard to the best universities anywhere. Most Australian Universities have a very high standard, especially in Sydney and Melbourne. The UNSW (University of New South Wales) is enormous with campuses right throughout NSW and in country areas that are considerably more inexpensive than Sydney. I would suggest you live in Sydney or Melbourne where you can attend the best universities but you will be paying more for accommodation. You should contact the various city-based universities to find out if you can qualify to attain on-site campus accommodation which is very inexpensive. The main universities in Sydney are:

The University of Sydney:
