Can Get Insurance For Supercar Without A Garage To Park In

If you park your supercar on a busy road, and it kept getting hit by other cars, and they kept doing a hit, and run, so you cannot claim any insurance from them, who pays for the damage? Will your insurance company refuse to insure you?

I'm sure this will vary by country but, it would go something like this. The first and likely second time they'll pay for it. After the second time they're going to wonder why you own a Lamborghini that isn't garaged. People who drive supercars generally even park in a garage at work. They're going to begin to think you're being targeted, and then it's going to depend on who you are and how much you do business with them.If you're somebody who owns a business that does millions of dollars worth of business with them per year they may suggest you garage it or raise your premium if you don't. I use this example because many people with this kind of car are entrepreneurs who insure a multitude of homes, vehicles, luxury yachts, and business assets with the same company. If you don't do a lot of business with them or the repairs are astronomical in cost of repair then they'll be quicker to drop you.

If you want to buy a $100,000 car, how much should your salary per year be? ?

Most of them dont earn enough to truly afford it. However, a good rule of thumb is to NEVER own more vehicles, boats, campers, atvs, motorcycles etc.. where their total value is more than 50% of your income. If you do then way too much of your income is gone in depreciation. For example, say U buy a BMW 7 series for 100,000. You drive it for 4 years and it is worth only about 40,000. So you lost 15,000/yr in depreciation plus gas, insurance and maintenance. so your annual transportation expense is about 20,000!!!

Since you should not have your transportation costs go over 10% of your total earnings, you need to earn about 200,000/year to afford this car.

MOST of these are sold to guys earning 100-125k. They Finance them and spend almost 20% of their pay on their car. I think its stupid myself... but people do it.

What are some disadvantages of driving a super car (Lamborghini, Ferrari style) if any?

I have driven cars like this on a daily basis. Some of the disadvantages or cons are that they are attention magnets, both postive (chicks) and negative (cops and jealous jerks). You can't just park them anywhere if you don't want to pick up dings and scratches from people opening their doors. They are altogether more expensive to run per mile than your average car but if you have the money to buy one, then this is not a concern. You have to be very careful about pulling into driveways as to not scratch up the lip on the front air dams or lower bodywork. Steep driveways are completely out of the question. People tend to box you in on the highway because they are looking at the car. They don't realize they're doing it but you have to keep moving around and accelerating to kind of getaway from the gawkers.

Could you afford to buy a Ferrari with a minimum wage job?

Even if you won the car insurance is over 3 grand per year for a 50 year old driver with a clean record.
An oil change is about $200 bucks and tires are almost a grand each.
Brake pads $500 per set. Shall i continue?

Sorry but no way!

Is a Ferrari F430 a good first car?

I'm sorry to say but, no. The Ferrari F430 is not a good first car, in fact it's not a good daily driver either. A Ferrari F430 is a high powered super car, they require high maintenance and aren't designed to be driven daily. As well, driving short distances like 5 miles is not a good idea for a car (espicially supercars) as the engine is shut off before it even gets warmed up properly. My other point is Ferraris are fast and rwd, as a result, an amateur driver has a higher chance to wipe out in slippery conditions (not saying you're not a good driver). If you really want the Ferrari, get it as a weekend car, and get something more comfortable for a daily driver, like a Maserati Gran Turismo (Ferrari Powertrain), Bentley Continental GT, or even a Aston Martin or Porsche might be a better idea for a daily driver.

Good Luck and good on you for earning enough money to buy your dream car!
