Can I Be A Programmer Now

Game programming where do i start?

Only Introduction to programming will help you a bit about game programming others are not. One thing you are wrong, playing games might seem fun but making that very game is not fun. It is called reality. But if you wish to stick onto game making then first learn programming, you can choose any of this 3 language C++ , C# and Java. C++ is very hard to learn and not recommended for beginners, C# and Java is fairly easy to learn. Learn the basics of programming. You can also choose Lua or python instead. Because this two language is very easy to learn. No matter where you go and ask, one answer you will surely get is learn programming, which programming language does not really matter right now.

After you have learn a programming language then look for game specific library or engine for that language and try making some small games, get comfortable in game specific programming , you may have to learn simple maths too.

After you have passed this phase, it is time for you to go next level, pick a good game engine and start learning the ins and outs of that game engine. But you also need artwork for your game like for 2D games you need images, texture etc and for 3D games you need models. It will be easier if you find folks who are good in this area.

Don't start to make 3D games right away, you might find it difficult to start. You need to learn many more things, check out the site http://www.gamedev.net/ for more information.

You want to learn all concepts, why ? Do you want to make your own game making tools or game engine ? If you answer is no then you don't need to learn all concepts. If you go for learning everything then after a year or two you will learn nothing and you will have no games to show just like me. Yes, I wanted to learn everything just like you, today I end up with no games to show off, thats why I am picking up a game engine and trying to make a simple game with that. Don't waste your time just like me. If you want to make games then you need to pick up a game engine.

How can a novice programmer make some money?

You could try developing a program yourself or with a group of friends. If you decide to try a game, there are platforms like Steam and Impulse that allow publishers to sell games through an online marketplace to a wide audience. If you decide to go with something else, the internet still makes it fairly easy to get yourself and your work out there when compared to a more brick-and-mortar approach.

If nothing else, you could spend some time helping out with one of the many existing open-source projects such as one of the various Linux distributions. Ubuntu even has a program where existing contributors will mentor new ones. It won't earn you money right away, but later on you'll have something to point to and say "I helped make this." The experience can help more than anything when it comes to getting a job, and from what I understand, Linux involves plenty of C and its derivatives.

What should I do to become a programmer now after working as a sales manager for 4 years?

well, you should humble yourself and start as a junior programmer.

What are the pros and cons of being a Game Programmer?

Start programming and learning as much as you can now. From my understanding however the career can be very tough. It's competitive, low job security and extreme work hours.

I have done B.C.A but my programming is poor now what should i choose M.B.A or M.C.A?

I would suggest getting some hands on experience if you are interested in being a programmer. Nothing beats picking up a book or just using free online resources and building a website or some other type of application in order to learn programming. You can learn everything you need to know about programming for free in exchange for your time.

With that being said, it isn't necessary to focus on hands on programming if you are just interested in IT. MBA is an excellent compliment to a BCA which will allow you to function as an Analyst or many other non programming positions and make your future transition into management seamless.

Another thing to consider is its much easier to keep going towards a master's right out of undergrad before you have begun making money. On the other hand many companies will pay for you to gain your master's if it is related to the position you are doing. Working, gaining practical experience, and having your master's paid for you is hard to pass up but is difficult work for sure -- either way a master's degree is well worth it in the end and something I recommend in IT.

How can a Chinese programmer (now in China) get an offer in Silicon Valley?

Apply for a job - that is usually how it works here in Silicon Valley. Very rarely will you get one by doing nothing.

Why are "computer programmers" now call "coders"?

TL;DR - You are calling them an idiot, please don't. It's a derogatory term similar to calling an accountant a “bean counter”, or a CEO a “paper pusher”.The only time I can think of hearing the term recently was is in reference to “coder camps”, which is itself a derogatory term for Coding Academies.Note that “coding” is appropriate in this context because that's what they teach: programming language syntax. “I'm going to code this up” is Ok because they are describing a specific activity, which only constitutes a part of the job of a Programmer or Software Engineer. Referring to a programmer as a "coder" is not acceptable because it implies that this final stage is all the person does, because the person you are referring to is not sufficiently intelligent/creative/skilled enough to be able to create solutions on their own.

After 5 years of experience as a PHP programmer, now I want to do an MBA in IT. How can this affect my career path?

If this insure you will become manager in the current/new company than do it from reputed college. If you want to learn management system than do it part time.Note: If you want to go in management line and want to leave current job than you will become fresher if you choose management line now, so be careful.
