Can I Cheer At 20 Years Old

My new 20 year old cheer coach is so rude to me and it makes me want to cry (please help)?

So Ive been in cheer for two years now and my coach always has new assistants. This year she hired a 20 year old who is so rude. She's only rude to me and I don't know why. She's so nice to everybody else and as much as I try to fix things and be nice she just still is rude and i see her laughing from the corner of my eye and it makes me feel bad. I won't talk to her about it because I'm too scared and I know she's probably gonna be like what are you talking about. and I don't want to tell my main coach because i don't want her to think im being dramatic. The point is how do I make it stop bothering me and just go on thinking she's not there. because she still gives us instructions.
(i'm 15 by the way) today she talked to me like i was stupid and said "we established that already" and walked away
its just rude
i really want to make it stop bothering me and I won't talk to her about it
how can i do it without talking to her?

How do I cheer up a sad 6-year-old girl?

I’m assuming you are some family appropriate member that is attempting this, and not the creepy neighbor who stares at her on her way to school.First….if you can engage her…just listen. Listen, nod…listen some more. Really hear her. Don’t advise…don’t do adult reasoning. If she’s lost a pet or loved one…all you can do is be with her while she’s sad and respond or explain as gently as her emotional age permits. If she’s simply sad over a disappointment, you might ask her if an ice cream cone might just make her feel a bit better. Or suggest her favorite activity. When my grandson was upset over a cancelled event, I sadly said, I guess you don’t want to go look at the neighbors new litter of puppies. Problem solved.

Can i cheer at 20 years old?

I'm a 20 year old female and I would really like to join competitive cheerleading. I use to do competive gymnastics but quit to do marching band in high school. Is there anywhere near rock hill, sc that I could possibly cheer for?

How old is too old to start competitive cheerleading? I'm 14 years old.

I would say that you are never too old for competitive cheerleading. Sure if you have some dance/gymnastic background from before it is always a benefit for you and you would learn cheerleading faster. But even if you don’t and are just completely new it is still not too late. You might have to start in a training group first to learn the basics but if you work hard you can definitely learn fast and level up to a level 1 competitive team.I was a late starter myself when it came to competitive cheerleading. Luckily I had done ballet since I was 4 years old so I learned everything relatively fast and I also spent many hours in the cheer gym working hard to reach my goals. I eventually made it to a level 5 team which is one of the top levels in cheerleading. So nothing is impossible. If you want to start with competitive cheerleading now, I think that you should definitely do it!

My 14 year old daughter wants to join the cheerleading team at her school but I'm concerned she will get injured. What should I do?

You can’t and shouldn’t keep them in a rubber bubble forever. There is such a thing as being too protective and that is when, like in this scenario, it effects their development negatively.Cheerleading is a lot of things. It’s fun, being involved, being supportive of her peers, it’s great exercise, they learn to work as a team and they’re part of a group that has similar interest. Not all cheerleading includes dangerous maneuvers that include stunts that risk injury. Those are mainly reserved for senior, very experienced, in good shape, and well trained cheerleaders that have practiced it hundreds of thousands of times. They’re not going to put a 14 year old rookie on top of a 30 person pyramid and they’re not going to be slinging her 10+ feet in the air like a rag doll any time soon. She will be doing primarily syncronized dancing, high kicks, clapping, and of course chanting in support of the team. They’re not going to make her do things she isn’t in good enough shape to do. They will encourage her to be in the best physical shape possible with calisthenics (dances, stretches, maybe but not all encourage jogging).Cheerleading is a great thing for a teen girl all the way to an adult woman to do and be involved with. They also do a lot more than just cheer sometimes. Cheerleaders are traditionally pretty girls that help, support, and encourage sports teams to succeed. They will sometimes do and help with fundraisers and booster drives if the team needs funds for some reason which is another opportunity for young women to learn and do things like crafts, decorating, coloring, painting, and more.Let her do it. Support her and encourage her to do it.

How can I cheer up/console a 45-year old who hasn't accomplished nearly anything he's wanted to in life?

The most logical solution to the problem as you state it, is to help this person set a goal and attain it. Help this person set a realistic goal and to pursue it. There are any number of books on the subject, but the bottom line to accomplishment is:Set a realistic goalDetermine the steps required to achieve the goalCreate a schedule and accountability system to progressing with the determined stepsReview progress on a regular basis to verify that the project is still on target to meet the goal.modify expectations if something unforeseen happens. (It usually will, especially if this is the first time setting such a goal.)Repeat the previous two items until the goal is met.I would start with something that is clearly within the person's grasp to start with, but not easy enough to complete without some level of effort. Then, like learning to swim or riding a bike, set the goal further away. And that's how a kid who is afraid of the deep end of the pool grows up to complete triathlons.

What can I do to cheer my cat up? After our other cat died a few months back, she's been withdrawn and moody.

I’m sorry for your loss. As a life-long cat person, I’ve had many come and go over the years. As with people, cats are individuals and will grieve in their own ways, so it’s hard to say exactly what you should do. Of course, as most have mentioned, giving your kitty extra attention and play-time is important. We usually have 3–5 cats at any one time, so when we lose one, we don’t notice that much of a change in behavior with the others….it’s mostly US who are grieving the loss. However, we did have one situation where we obtained 2 cats about 4 months apart. These 2 cats were very much bonded with each other, even though we had 2 other cats (4 total) at the time.. Then at 3 years of age, we lost Bishop (cat #2, the younger kitty of the 2 ) unexpectedly. Marshall (cat #1 — we call him our “needy cat”) just broke our hearts as he openly grieved for his buddy — he literally walked the house, calling for him….for weeks. We hadn’t planned to get another cat so soon after this loss (it felt to us that immediately getting another cat was like we were trying to “replace” our kitty….). But Marshall was inconsolable, so we decided to try for another kitten. Enter Koda. Marshall took to Koda immediately and they are best buds (most of the time). Not saying that getting a 2nd cat will help, but it’s worth a try. Some cats thrive on companionship! I would recommend a kitten over an older cat……BUT so much will depend on your cat and her own personality as to how she will adapt to a kitten vs an older cat. I just personally think cats adjust better to kittens. And a female cat might be more prone to view a new “kitten” member of the family as her baby rather than as a competitor. Oh, and I would also recommend a male kitten. For some reason, even spayed/neutered, females (IN GENERAL) tend to accept a male better than they do another female.Best wishes from Koda (left) and Marshall (right)!!
