Can I Donate Eggs While Being On Antidepressants

Can I donate eggs while being on antidepressants?

I've been wanting to donate eggs for the longest time, and my psychiatrist recently put me on antidepressants. I did tell my psychiatrist that I wanted to donate eggs. I also told her that they inject hormones or whatever it is. Anyways she told me not to do it because of the hormones and it's going to cause me to feel more depressed, etc. I know I'm ready for it, i think i can do it. I'm not really that depressed, and I'm honestly pretty excited to do it. If it helps I don't go through mood-swings when I'm on my period, I actually feel happier, you can say?

Anyways my whole point was, will the doctors allow it? Well they allow me to donate eggs if I have depression?

P.s. my psychiatrist and therapist said my depression can go away in about 4 months?

Oh one more question i was going to donate eggs like around September because i turn 19, and the world cup is in the summer. If I wait that long will my go back to my depression and cause the meds to not work anymore?

Natural Anti-Depressants?

How about going to the library and seeing if they have a copy of the Tony Robins tapes.

On on these tapes Tony Robins discusses how we need to "work at" being depressed, in fact we need to use every muscle in our body to maintain a depressed state.

So you see this isn't without your approval because you are allowing yourself to fall right into depression.

One of the lessons Tony Robins speaks of is....

Sit up straight looking ahead........raise your eyes to the ceiling, tilting your head slightly upward. Put a smile on your face and just sit there. (It is impossible to feel depressed in this position)

Another lesson.........Think of what you would feel like if you were just told you won 5 million dollars. What would you feel, how would you look when you walk? Now get up and walk as if you had just won this money............notice what are the differences in the way you are walking now compared to how you walk when you are depressed.

Another lesson.....There is a knock at your door, you know that it is your friend who is feeling very depressed....what is it you expect to see when you open the door......explain how your friend will look, the posture

Now, don't allow yourself to use this type of posture, always consciously think about your posture and the look on your face.

SMILE, the world does smile back at you.

And Just think, your smile might just make someones day so much brighter that they are lifted out of a state of depression........how would THAT FEEL.

Can I get pregnant after I donated?

Well if you've never had children there is a high chance you won't be accepted as an egg donor.

Anyway, of course you don't donate all your eggs. The aim of egg donation is not to give all your eggs to infertile people and leave yourself infertile in the process. Plus you have like 2 million eggs. You'll donate about 10...

I think this is a really bad idea of yours.

What happens to you when you double dose on antidepressants? Is it anything to worry about?

The doctor and pharmacist should be alerted immediately in the event of an accidental double-dosing.Accidental duplication of dose is quite common in many patients on chronic medications for various patient-peculiar reasons. While this can be distressing and predisposes the patient to a higher risk of severe toxicity with some medications (e.g. warfarin and digoxin), antidepressants, particularly the newer kind, have a wider therapeutic margin and so are less likely to cause severe toxicity from accidental duplication of dose. The patient will however be at a higher risk of experiencing adverse effects which can sometimes be serious, requiring management in some patients.Depending on the particular antidepressant, adverse effects to watch out for may include headache, nausea, palpitations, sweating, vomiting, anxiety, dizziness, abnormal thoughts, including suicidal ideation, diarrhea, etc.If a patient has just, for example, started taking an SSRIs, e.g. fluoxetine (20 mg – 80 mg per day) or sertraline (50 mg – 200 mg per day), it is most likely that they started on the lower dose. Doubling will still have the dose within the therapeutic range. If the patient is on a once daily regimen (SSRIs are typically dosed once a day, usually in the morning) it is a good idea to wait at least 24 hours from the last dose before resuming on the regular regimen.Of course it is best to defer to the doctor and pharmacist who prescribed or dispensed the medication to be sure as there are different management modalities for different medications and patient-specific scenarios.

Is it normal when starting An Anti-depressant to have DILATED pupils?

That isn't abnormal at all. I'll explain the science behind it and I hope you will understand it. You have a sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Your sympathetic nervous system is responsible for things such as your "fight or flight" response, increased heart beat, and increased respiratory rate. Your parasympathetic nervous system basically counters this, and acts by inhibiting the sympathetic nervous system as well as regulating certain systems such as the digestive system. The parasympathetic nervous system also controls the eye and when stimulated it causes the pupil to constrict; sympathetic causes the pupil to dilate. Lexapro is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, so it increases the action of serotonin. Serotonin can stimulate your sympathetic nervous system...keeping up??? Now, serotonin stimulates the sympathetic nervous system in the eye, causing the pupil to dilate, which counters the constriction which is caused by the parasympathetic. I hope you understood, but if you didn't, just know that it is not at all abnormal for your pupils to dilate.

Can I donate a lung to my mother?

While your blood type is a problem, living donor transplants do take place.

According to the American Lung Association, "Lungs can also be transplanted from living donors, adding to the supply of available organs. A living lung donor can be anyone who matches the recipient, related or not. At least two other people have to donate lobes to form an entire lung for one recipient; lobes of the lung are donated depending on which sections of the lungs need to be replaced. Living lung transplants are advantageous because recipients do not have to wait on a list and the transplant can be scheduled at a time convenient for both parties. In addition, the recipient can begin to take immunosuppressive medication earlier, which decreases the chances of rejection. Living lung transplants tend to be more successful also because there is a closer match between the donor and recipient. Unfortunately, as of now, the living donor program for lungs is in its infancy, so it will not be available for most people needing a transplant at this time."

The transplant center at the University of Minnesota is one place that offers this type of transplant. Here is the contact information.

The Transplant Center 516 Delaware St. SE MMC 482, Room 2-200 Minneapolis, MN 55455
(800) 328-5465 (kidney, liver, intestine, pancreas, islet, lung and heart/lung) (800) 478-5864 (heart)

Don't take no for an answer. While transplantation is not for everyone, this may be an option for your mother, and as you can see, the donors do not need to be related and they don't have to donate an entire lung. Good luck to all of you. Hope this helped a little.

Is it possible to donate blood if you take Adderall?

I just gave blood yesterday. On the questionnaire, I didn’t see any reference to any stimulants. Things that weren’t okay were: blood thinners, aspirin, hep c drugs, finasteride, alcohol, and a bunch of antibiotics (among a whole bunch of other things). Most psyche meds (anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, stimulants, and benzo tranquilizers) weren’t mentioned.
