Can I Give My Car Back To The Dealer For No Service

Should you tip the driver of a car dealership's car shuttle service if he drives you to home and back?

When it comes to tipping, I really only heavily consider it if the person’s pay is reliant on tips. If so, I’ll tip accordingly. If their wages aren’t, I’ll express my gratitude for their service and upon talking to the customer service rep(s), I’ll let them know of the stand up job their driver did. There were only instances where I did tip a driver when I servicing my car. The first was when I dropped my car off early one morning before being driven to work. I asked the driver if he was able to stop at a small shop so I could grab a quick coffee and offered to pay for his coffee as well. He agreed to stop, but declined the coffee as it often gave him heart problems. Upon getting to my office I expressed my thanks again for the drive and the quick stop. I then gave him some cash and said “your lunch is on me” and again expressed my gratitude for the stop. The second was when I left my house keys on the chair of the customer service representative. Of course neither of us realized it until I got to my front door and couldn’t get in. Thankfully the driver was slow to leave so I a chance to run back to the vehicle. He drive me back to the dealership to get my keys, then back home. I gave a tip and a million apologies for my bone-headedness.Generally speaking, as most people simply go from point A to point B and that this is a service being offered by the dealership/establishment, the drivers generally receive a fair wage and thus don’t fall in the realm of the customer needing to tip the driver. While you can, you’re not obliged or even asked to.

Car dealer wants to reverse our deal and wants car back because they cannot get title to the car I traded for

They were in violation of the law by selling you a car with no merchantable title. They would like nothing better than to reverse the deal because they want to stay out of court and risk losing their dealer license. So it is up to you. If you want to reverse it, fine, do it. I would ask for everything you gave them, pay no sales tax, no fees, no expenses, nothing! and I would get some $$$ for damages and trouble and inconvenience. If you don't want to do that then tell them that they can get you a title the easy way or they can get you a title through the courts the tough way but they WILL get you a title. Seems to me you are in the drivers seat here. Steer well !

Can I go back to a dealer that gave me a carfax that did not list an accident on it's carfax?

Most people don't know this but Car-fax only covers 7 States and is not guaranteed to be accurate.

So as far as taking the vehicle back to the original dealer, you have no case period unless you can prove fraud which is very hard to prove.

Used cars are sold as is period. It's up to the customers to have them checked out.

Good luck.

Are service technicians at car dealerships allowed to take your car home with them?

I took my car back to the dealership because a light kept coming on every morning. I went back to pick up my car 4 days later, and my car was trashed and there was a toddler booster seat in the back seat. Is this even legal?

Do dealerships have to give loaners?

No they don't. And fewer and fewer dealers offer them. But there is an important distinction between a loaner and a rental. If your car is being repaired under warranty, you are entitled to a rental car as long as the repair will take more than four hours. However, smaller dealerships will work with a local rental company, like, say, Enterprise, for the planner loaner. However, if the repair side is busy enough, the dealer will put some of their own cars into rental service, and they will claim the rental charge paid by the manufacturer as income, and write the cost of the car down monthly, based on the income the rental car makes.A loaner, on the other hand, is just that. It's an extra car, that the dealer till simply allow a customer to drive, while their car is being repaired. Your vehicle warranty will denote the criteria for a rental car, individual dealers may control the user of loaners, if any.
