Can I Make Profit By Making Custom Computers For People

Where to buy a gaming computer?

I want to buy a Gaming PC but i don't know where to get it and i wont to know trusted places because some of them don't look professional. The reason i don't wont to build one is because i don't wont to mess it up and be out the money and still not have a PC. ( Not Alien ware because they are a little over priced)

Would it be more profitable to build computers and sell them or buy computers and strip parts from them to sell?

Probably strip parts and sell them. Chances are, you can advertise as “parting out”, but you can also state that if there is a system that is of interest, they can buy it for a bit less than the combined parts. People are willing to pay more for a singular part, as they don’t want to buy a whole system for that one part and have to do the work parting it out.

Can I build and sell custom computers for profit on Ebay?

I also love building PCs and thought the same thing. I'm sure many others have too.Problem is, long story short, supply and demand. The demand for custom PCs not made to order is pretty low as that kinda defeats the purpose of a custom PC. The supply of those is also fairly high if you look on Ebay, and at prices you cant beat. Plus you could already buy prebuilt systems from many companies like Dell with customization options though at a price premium. The way you will make money is as a custom PC consultant. You will find it super hard to sell systems you build online for profit since you are betting someone has the same taste as you. Instead you should go directly to the consumer who wants a custom PC but lacks the time or knowledge to build it and offer to help them pick components from their personal needs and then assemble the system yourself. How you find these customers is a problem I haven't personally solved and as I am now in college I lack the time to do this. However if you find out that locals in your area or friends looking for a gaming PC wil pay you parts plus a builder's fee (maybe fixed like $100 or a percentage of parts cost) and you can start there maybe you'll come across a way to expand.

Is it still possible to make money building custom computers for people?

If you can buy at wholesale from a distributor at wholesale prices and build 6000 PCs per year at $150 per build, you can do well. That is less than 3 builds per day, five days a week. Find a wholesale distributor.

Are eMachines good computers?

They Are Ok

Is it profitable to build PCs for other people?

Depends if you can get enough money for the PCs that you build. If you’re going to be building in 1s and 2s, like Michael Dell was in the early days of Dell Computer, you might have some challenges.Buying individual parts retail and trying to sell something is going to be challenging if you’re competing against an organization that is purchasing parts wholesale, in quantity, especially if they are using automated assembly lines to assemble. If you’re talking about building customized, unique systems that’s another story as there are few sources for these. My motivation is to build exactly what I want but also to be able to upgrade at will and as things fail, replace only the failing component.

Can I make a business making custom PCs?

Yes you can, for the most part. Because technically that's what the computer shops do (although I am assuming you won't be buying 100 pieces of Skylake i7s at once, but just build them one by one, order by order), they buy the hardware from the distributor and then they sell it to you and me. You'll need a license issued by the government and you're good to go.However, if you're still worried about it, I'd suggest you talk to two people-1. The shopkeeper of a computer store, from whom you can expect correct answers. He can ease your process to a great extent, like tell you what all you gotta do to get a license and all that.2. A lawyer. Ask him all the questions you want. And for a small fee, he must be able to help you.For the most part, I know you'll need a commercial license to make your business legally commercial. Although, if you just want to keep it minimized- like build a machine once in a while or tell people that you build PCs and charge something for that, I think you should be okay.

Is it a bad idea to build custom PCs for people at 18?

It’s not a problem of age, it’s a problem of usage.People aged 18 doesn’t really need serious hardware, since most of them use their PC for net surfing. Some may argue that there are people at 18 that do graphics programming, neutral network attempts, etc. Oh well, even I myself is doing it currently. So no, it’s not a bad idea to build custom PCs for people at 18, it depends on the usage of the custom PC and do they need high end components. But we ought not to forget the existence of gaming. High end PCs may come to a conclusion of addiction to gaming due to high end components being able to handle games which requires higher specs. Of course everyone need a game or two for entertainment or relaxing, but if addiction is what you’re concerning, build a less powerful PC, or to the extent they need. Conclusion: Build it, if they need it, not if they want it. Build it to the level of performance they need.

Why are Apple computers so expensive compared to HP, Acer, Gateway, etc?

I saw an Apple Macbook at The Apple Store for 1500! It only had 2 GB and 150 Memory. Yet at Best Buy you can find a laptop made by HP, Dell, Gateway, with 5 GB with much more memory for around 600-700 dollars.

Why don't they sell Apples at Best Buy? Why does Apple have its own fancy store in the mall? Is Apple the BMW of computers?

How should someone get started in building custom PCs?

It is not as hard as it seems. It is still very good to research and watch some tutorials, but as long as you get everything to match, the plugs are almost completely self explanatory. Here are some things to pay attention to:CPU type (LGA 115X for intel (1151 chips go to 1151 motherboards))RAM type (Do not get DDR4 RAM for a motherboard that can only accept DDR3PCIE slot types (if you want a premium graphics card for gaming or whatever)size of the motherboard (atx - largest \\ micro atx - medium \\ mini itx - smallestMake sure that the case will match up with the motherboard sizeMake sure that the case will accomodate the GPU / any other partsmake sure that the psu is the correct sizemake sure that the psu will fit in the case (mainly important for smaller casesWebsites such as PCPartsPicker are really good but it is important to know what parts will work togetherI would recommend Intel processors and Nvidia graphics cards. AMD based products will work fine but I’m biased
