Can I Rent A Car For My 18 Yr Old Girl Friwnd

My friend is 18 years old and intends to rent a car. Do you have any tips for getting cheaper insurance and avoid the under age fee?

He’s going to have a hard time being able to rent a car at all unless he lives in Michigan or New York. Most rental agencies require a minimum age of 21 (with a surcharge). Without surcharge the minimum age is usually 25. If he can find a company to rent to him, there is no way he can avoid the surcharge. How To Get The Best Rates For Drivers Under 25 Years | Million Mile SecretsIt won’t work to drive a car someone else rented, because it would violate the contract if he is not listed as an additional driver. If he is listed, the surcharge will apply. As a claims adjuster, I used to recommend that the 18 year old drive a family member’s car, and the owner of that car rent one.

I’m 18 and travelling to Dubai with my 18 year old girlfriend? Will we get in trouble as it’s illegal to share a hotel room? Or are the laws relaxed about it?

You can share a hotel room with your gf who is 18 years old. There are no hassles and no any problems. 95% of the hotels in Dubai allow you to stay together. This is not considered illegal by the Dubai law and order. However, please keep in mind a few things for yours and for your girlfriend’s security. Do not get drunk and do not create any nuisance during your stay in a Hotel. If you are living with your gf peacefully then no one are concerned except if some issues arise between you two. There should be no brawl between your and your gf in which others will be involved which disturbs the peace and tranquility of the premises where you stay. You may also party with your friends in different bars and restaurants in the city without any problem. Two things you have to be aware of : First : Do not take a snap of strangers from your smart phone of mobile. Second : Do not touch inappropriately to strangers (both males and females).Thats all. Welcome to Dubai and enjoy your stay.

What if my 18-year-old son wants to have his girlfriend stay over?

I assume you’ve said “maybe” or “maybe later, let me think about it”, which is of course the correct answer, perhaps indefinitely.“No” sets up a confrontation or sneaking. An ill-considered “yes” risks problems of unknown proportion. In the meantime, do you know if his girlfriend wants to (or is just telling him she does)? Do you know what she actually wants in a sleepover? Do you know that your son will respect what she wants? How do her parents feel about the question? Have you met her? Have you gotten a chance to know her? Have you gotten a chance to get to know her parents? Have you spoken with him openly about sex and relationships? Does he have access to birth control and infection prevention? Do you know if he’s committed to using it? Do you know if he and his girlfriend have had adult conversations about sex and relationships? Do you know if she’s committed to proper use of birth control and infection prevention? If all that is in place, can both families maybe go on a vacation together somewhere? It might be fun for the two of them to plan it. If you’ve got all of the above and they’re grown-up enough and responsible enough to pull off a plan like that, then it might just be the most wonderful thing.Even lacking some of that, consider whether you’d rather they do it somewhere safe, and have the joy of waking up together in a supportive environment, or whether you’d rather they do (or keep doing) it in the back of some car or bush?In any case, “maybe” likely gives you the time and incentive to work towards the situation you want.

I'm 20 years old and I want to spend my holiday with my girlfriend who is 18 years old. We planned to go to Kolkata, but we are a little bit scared to rent a hotel room. Is it safe for us? Is it illegal?

It is in no way illegal for two adults to stay together. Though at your age you may draw glances. Both of you have to meet the basic requirements of being adults, carry a photo ID, etcSafety is another question. Depends upon the hotel, and your body language. Search on the net for hotels frequented by Europeans, Japs, Koreans etc, they would be used to unmarried couples staying together. A booking made on the net through sites like cleartrip etc makes it hassle free to check in.

Teenage son wants to move in with girlfriend...?

You say, "Gosh, you two are going to find it expensive to pay for rent yourselves", because frankly, I would pay housing for my son to attend college, but I wouldn't pay a penny towards him shacking up with his girlfriend!

Living together is something ADULTS do, not kids, and adults support themselves.

Thousands of teens pay their own expenses in College by working as well as going to school, so your son and his girlfriend can do that if they wish, but I wouldn't be paying for it, if I was the parent.

Advice for an 18 year old renting an apartment with a friend?

I would recommend against living with a friend to be honest. Too many friendships were ruined after high school by people who ended up living together. It is better not to be friends with people you have to have a business relationship with. You need to be 100% ready to tell them they can't do stuff or they need to pay their share of the rent. A lot of people will justify not paying all of the rent or buying a large car because their roommates are friends and that as friends, they won't mind being late.

You also need to make sure that you both can afford the place with enough left over for living expenses. If the rent is 1000 to be split 500 and the person only makes 600, then it's too much. Most jobs that college kids get do not allow them to afford living expenses without struggling. Will this cause a damper on your friendship?

You will also need a cosigner since you're young. Not to mention a deposit which could be 1 months rent to three months rent. You may also need renter's insurance depending on the lease. You probably will not be allowed to have pets of any kind.

You also should consider acquiring some furniture but don't freak out if you have crap initially like lawn chairs or an old sofa from your parents' house. The dishes could be mismatched. It's your first apartment. However, keep track of what is yours and be prepared to prove it if you and your friend begin to fight.

The essentials is a bed, dishes, cookware, and cleaning supplies. Next would be a table to sit down at to eat. Then consider a computer desk in your room. Then a dresser. Then a TV and TV stand. Then the living room furniture. Don't decorate till down the line. You will also need a laundry basket or a laundry bag if you do not have a washer in the apartment.

Managing your finances is the biggest step. You need to be able to afford everything on your own. Start saving now and aim to have a minimum of 5000 dollars saved up for emergencies. Have it saved and do not touch it unless you lose your job or your car breaks down. Ideally, it should be more like 10,000 to cover other expenses like car payments, food, utilities, cellphone, etc, but that will be hard to get saved up at your age.

Don't get a credit card right away or if you do get a credit card, don't use it.

Do hotels rent rooms to 18 year olds in Canada?

Being 18 is not usually a problem. If you don't have a credit card it will be. Years ago, some friends and I tried to find a hotel room for a weekend and went to 15 different ones. At that time (quite a while back) none of us had credit cards and not a single one would give us a room. They require a credit card for security in case you damage the room or leave without paying. If you've got a credit card, being 18 won't be a problem..

Car Rental Advice/Help?

On Thursday, October 4th, I was involved in a vehicle collision that has left my car completely destroyed. After attempting to get a loan through my bank, I was denied probably due to the fact I m 18 and have no credit history.

I have my girlfriend flying into my state in a few days and now I m unable to get to the airport because I no longer have a vehicle.

Since I m only 18, my state requires you to be 21 to rent a car; leaving me unable to do that as an option.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do besides constant Ubering/Lyft?

Can an 18 year old rent a hotel room with a 17 year old?

They aren't your parents. So long as they got an 18 year old renting the room, they shouldn't care.

But I have been told about places that call the cops when too many kids show up, because there's always drinking and stuff going down.

Could be tricky, but not because one of you is not 18.
