Can I Run A 10k By Summer

Can I make $10K over the summer as a teenager?

The question Is why. What are you gonna do with 3 months of rent money huh. But if you really need money go work at your local grocery store or in you’re neighborhood just ask around maybe put up some flyers saying your gonna do yard work. Now let’s say there are 20 houses on you block, 10 on each side. Every 2 weeks you mow each lawn for 20 bucks a yard. That’s 400 bucks every 2 weeks. And summer is for 3 months right. Add $400 per every 2 weeks of summer. That equals to about $1,600 right there. You still need some cash, you walk dogs. You go around the neighborhood and ask around. People let you walk their dogs. You manage to get 5 dogs. You get $10 per dog. You walk the dogs 2 times per day. You walk them Monday through Friday while the owners are at work. That is about $250 a week. So for 12 weeks you walk the dogs you make $3,000. So $4,600 for just those 2 things. You can also do things such as babysitting. To cut this short I’ll say you can make around $2,000. Now the 3 months are over. This has been a fun ride. You’ve had a good time and you got $7,000 in your pocket. But ah ah ah you can still do garage sales, bake sales, lemonade stands, and chores. With all that you get $10,000I hope you enjoyed your time with me-Farewell

Summer Cross-Country Base how to run 25:20 in 8k?

Hi. I just finished my sophmore college track season. I ran 32:44 10k with a 26:00 8k split. I have 4 months to base build. Any advice? I am upping my mileage even high this year, up to an average of 85 miles per week from 75 last year (after building up to it of course). When should I add in my tempo runs and just any advice from people who have already been there, thanks.

I should have this down-pat by now, but the more I learn the more I learn I do not know.

should have mentioned that I have already taken my 2 weeks of rest.

Are Mastiff Runners?

No. You may get a lean adolescent to run for a couple of miles, but as soon as it fills out, running will injure it.

For running, you can try a Retriever, Shepherds, a Border Collie, Weimeriner, dalmation. maybe some terriers (Jack Russell, scottie, schnauzer). Huskies may run if the weather is cool.

I don't know if whippets, greyhounds, borzoi will run with people.

I run with a Golden mix, and my vet told me two things:
First, not to run long distance until the dog was about 2 years old, so that his bones are stable. And second, that here in Texas that I should soak him in the summer before we go running. That seems to work very well for hot weather.

How should I train 800m and 10k running at the same time?

If you can, try and include some fast interval training on an athletics track, with distances of 800m to 1000m.During your weekly runs, also try and include a longer run of around twelve miles every other weekend, and try running at a slightly faster pace than you usually run at.The added track speed workouts, and the slightly increased long run training will give you increased speed and endurance for a 6.2mile race.If your able, also find a few 5k races to include in your training, and run them eyeballs out.A 10k race is a fairly short distance, and is more about speed and ones ability to increase ones oxygen uptake during the race. Its the very fast track interval sessions that will develop your lung capacity to run faster for longer, without going into oxygen dept.

If I train twice a day over the summer at 80 miles per week, how fast will I be able to run a 5k? More details in comment.

You're going to burn out way before you reach whatever goal you have.Running 80 miles a week is not something you just "do", unless you are an experienced, well-trained long distance runner, and if you are you should know already how much you can increase your own pace, and how to train for it.By doing a little math I can find out you want to run just over 11 miles a day, at around 5,5 miles per run. This assumes you'll run everyday - which is NOT recommendable. You'll need at least one rest day, but two rest days spread out during the week would be much better. So now you would have to run 16 miles a day to cover 80 miles a week. That seems a little much to do every time you run, unless you are an experienced long distance runner, again in that scenario you wouldn't come asking here on Quora.TL;DR:Forget about the 5K pace, think of your health. You'll achieve much better results that way.

What training plan for a 10k run do you suggest ?

Don't know how good you are. But a basic weekly layout is.

1 long run a week (8-15miles)
2 track workouts or tempo (fast)
3 easy days (4-7 miles)
1 off

I'm scared for cross country summer conditioning practice tomorrow.?

Ok, so tomorrow is my first summer conditioning practice as a rising freshman. I do not know anyone on the team, and also, I'm not really the best runner yet. Actually, I was getting pretty good about 3 weeks ago but then finals and graduation came up and I have not been on a legit run in a long time. And I'll admitt, I have gotten a little lazy. I was suppose to go this past Monday, (the official first summer conditioning practice) but I didn't have the proper shoes. Before, I could run up to 2 and 1/2 miles strait, and tomorrow I have to run 1-2 miles at the practice. It gets harder though, for example, next week, we are running 2-4 mile and soon it will get up to 5 miles and so on. I went for a run today in preparation and I could only run 1 and 1/2 miles strait, with music! And even that REALLY hurt towards the end. I'm just really scared for tomorrow, plus my brothers are very good football players and are known for setting a lot of achievements at my high school, and I feel like they are expecting things out of me, when really, I'm still a beginner. I'm 5'8 and about 155 pounds. I used to be obese (204 pounds) but lost weight with Excersize and healthy habits. I still need to lose about 15 to 20 pounds, which I'm hoping that lots of cross country will benefit. I'm just nervous for a lot of things, I'm not all that great of a runner, and plus, I don't know anyone there. Please, any advice?
