Can I Start Getting Social Secerity Again

Can i start getting social secerity again?

Ok so I started getting it at about 17 maybe and got it until I turned 18. I got it late because I didn't know I could get it until my dad told me. I got it because of him. I could of continued to get it till I was 25 if I went to college. But at the time I couldn't go to college due to getting pregnant and I wanted that year off with me son it woulda just been to much going to work and college. Anywho I just turned 20 and im going to college fulltime. And I was wondering can I get soical secerity again? Since I went back to school? Someone told me I might be able to plus get back pay which would help out alot and I wouldn't have to work 80 plus hours a week to pay bills. So does anyone know if this is true or not?

P.s im not lazy and its not like I wont work once I get it because I definetly will. I've been working 80 plus hours for the longest time and I hardly get to spend time with my son because im working so much. So don't talk down to me for wanting to know.

Should I start collecting social security rather than waiting a year? Trunp’s budget proposal has cuts to Social Security and I think people already collecting would be grandfathered in.

First, you are getting horrible advice, that may last your entire life. This is really a question that should be directed to a financial advisor who has some fiduciary responsibility.1) You are largely the victim of a click-chasing media. Trump’s budget proposal does nothing to Social Security. The changes that he has proposed are recycled ideas dating back to the Obama Administration.2) Someone turning 72 today expects to outlive the ability of the program to pay full benefits. If you think that you will be grandfathered in a 62, it is simply not going to happen.3) The biggest risk that the system has today is the politics of stagnation, where we do nothing. The longer we do nothing the more painful the solution will be.4) Pay attention, and share sound material with your family and friends. Neither party has a plan, and anything that suggests one party is better than the other on the issue of Social Security is in my experience wedge politics sold by partisan operatives.

How much can a person getting social security disability make before the government stops paying the same disability and is it cumulative?

From The Social Security Administration:Generally, SSDI recipients can't start doing "substantial gainful activity" (SGA) and continue to receive disability benefits. In a nutshell, doing SGA means you are working and making more than $1,180 per month in 2018 (or $1,970 if you're blind). There are exceptions to this rule, however. For SSDI recipients, there is a trial work period during which you can make more than the SGA amount without losing your benefits.SSDI recipients are entitled to test their ability to work and continue to receive full benefits regardless of whether they make more than the SGA amount, for a nine-month trial work period. For 2018, the SSA considers any month where a person has a monthly income of more than $850 a trial work month. If you are self-employed, any month where you work more than 80 hours (or earn more than $850) is a trial work month.Once you have completed the nine-month trial work period, for a period of 36 months, you can still receive SSDI for any month where your earnings fall below the SGA level. This is called the extended period of eligibility. In other words, if you earn less than $1,180 per month, you will get benefits, but if you earn more than $1,180 per month, you won't get disability benefits for that month.Following your trial work period, if your SSDI payments have stopped because your income is substantial, the SSA gives you five years during which your benefits can be reinstated if you again stop working because of your disability. During the five-year period, the SSA will not require you to file a new disability application to get benefits. This is called expedited reinstatement.

Have you ever notified social security that you started working again and they kept paying you? What are you supposed to do?

This happened to a good friend of mine. He went back to work but enjoyed the extra income that the continuing disability money gave him.Now he's paying back $14,000.His payments are $100. a month so he'll never in this lifetime pay it off .Social security will discover it because your employer has to send in money that they take from your check to be deposited into your future retirement. One way or another they will get it back.

I am waiting for Green Card and Social Security number to arrive, should I start applying for jobs?

You almost certainly already have your green card: it’s in your passport book. When you entered the United States using an immigrant visa, the border control officer counterstamped your visa with a stamp. That stamp is a “green card”: it is a temporary I-551 document, valid for one year, that proves that you have been admitted to the United States as a lawful permanent resident and have the right to work for any employer without requiring specific authorization. The stamp probably looks something like this:If you don’t have this stamp, but your visa says, at the bottom, “Upon endorsement, serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year” and the visa has been endorsed by a nearby stamp, then, again, that visa is your temporary green card:You may apply for jobs and begin working immediately. You will eventually have to provide your employer with your Social Security Number, but you do not have to have it to begin working, as long as you have already applied for one. The only document you must have to start work is your foreign passport with an I-551 stamp inside it; this is a “List A” document and thus satisfies the requirements for Form I-9. (See Form I-9 Acceptable Documents for information about Form I-9.)

Can a dog get a social security number?

LOL, nope.
Although it would be great if in their golden years they could start collecting social security! =D

I got denied for my Social Security, AGAIN!!! Now what?

There is a rule about how soon a person must receive an answer, but no rules about how soon one must get a court date. The backlog is several years long. And people are prioritized on the basis of how long they have already been waiting. You now get to join the others back at the end of the line again. Obama has promised that initial determinations will be quicker, but not court dates.

Maybe it is time to accept that you are not going to be receiving Social Security benefits and get more creative about how you are going to support yourself.

None of your ailments meet the criteria of a disability for SSI or SSDI and inability to work....combined they seem pretty intense, but really only the agoraphobia prevents you from working the majority of non-physically laborous jobs out there. And the agoraphobia doesn't prevent you from doing work at home - and none of you other disabilities are an impediment to that. So I really do suggest you get your thinking cap on - get some help from vocational rehabilitation - and start your own business or start doing phone/computer work at home.

Can I sue my job for switching my social security number with someone else?

I recently got hired at a new job and their was another person by the same first name as me. We were both in training when our manager gave us our ids and socials back. Again we both were in training and I didn’t double check because I assume I was getting my ids back. Long story short I got a call a day later that they switched our ids on accident I went and look and sure enough I had her social and she has mine. This isn’t a regular day to day job where I’ll see her all the time we don’t start until February. I’ve been trying to switch my social back directly with the other girl and she’s always busy and right now I’m getting frustrated. It’s been a week now and it’s scaring me how she isn’t taking this serious either. If she was to use my social can I sue the employer? Because I think it was there fault! Now I have to deal with this . What do you think?

My new employer asked me to bring my social security card but I only have the receipt?

I can’t find my social security card but I did find the number printout from the SSA office. I’m wondering if this will work or If I will have to sit in the office one again tomorrow. I start on Monday.

Also, my last name is my married name on my I.D. but haven’t changed it on my social. Will that matter? I’m trying to avoid the ssa office if possible since I will have my 2 little ones with me.
